I was on the recent Sapphire Princess Alaskan cruise. Performance was better than what I had gotten in the past at that latitude with SES, but not great. Surprisingly, when back in Vancouver, I noticed we were back on SES.

IMO, the honorable thing would be for you to either check in by yourself and wait for them on board or not use your elite benefit and check in with them. I see no reason why you all have to check in together.

You don’t need to visit guest services. CrewCall Chat on the Medallion App works just fine.

We are currently on the Sapphire. Spent 30 days on the Discovery in February/March. Quality is better across the board. Internet is upgraded to Starlink. MDR food and menu is better. Medallion works better. Room service is vastly improved. This has been one of the best cruises we have taken on a Princess ship.

Here are some of Sapphire’s antennas. Already we have naysayers. Right now I can do streaming in Alaska that I have never been able to do. It wouldn’t surprise me that the speed is throttled so they can sell premium down the road.

It’s good enough to stream. Something I couldn’t do on Mexican Riviera cruises on the Discovery in March and the first part of this Alaskan cruise on the Sapphire in April and May. Ping is only 70 as compared to 700 with SES.

For those wondering how people are uploading all these photos, it appears Sapphire Princess has switched over to Starlink from SES as its Internet provider.

I am on the Sapphire Princess in Juneau, Alaska. Streaming is significantly better than it was at the start of the cruise with SES as the provider.

There are instances where someone other than the room steward will get a tip. On a recent B2B cruise our dining room server found out we had the premium package on one of the segments. He noted that we had been ordering the wine that came with the plus package and mentioned that we should get a higher priced wine. He asked if we would like a bottle of premium wine. I said sure, why not two. He had a short conversation with the head waiter and came back with two bottles of Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon. On a previous segment we had had made friends with a server in the elite lounge. One night, she gave us a bottle of Canyon Oaks. We gave all three a pretty good tip at the end of the cruise.

Well, a lot of bad stuff goes on these days. I would have put a piece of black tape over the front like I did the Amazon Echo in my bedroom.

I recently sailed on the NCL Bliss and will be sailing on HAL Eurodam next week followed by Princess Sapphire.
