  1. Did the hors d’ouevres include vegetarian options? When invited to the MTG luncheon we have always had to ask ahead of time.
  2. Seems like inviting you to a MTG cocktail party is showing you a little appreciation.
  3. Examples: I don't want to - hobnob with the crew. - listen to people brag about how many cruises they have taken. - sit with other people. That pretty much describes us. That's why we have always requested a table for two and a vegetarian menu when we have received an invitation to the MTG. All, but once they have met the request.
  4. If it wasn't worth the time, why would they be standing room only?
  5. These are from our Alaska cruise on the NCL Encore in October 2022. Had a great time despite some rainy weather. Looking forward to our upcoming Alaska cruise on the Discovery Princess from Seattle to Vancouver in September followed by a transpacific cruise on the HAL Noordam from Vancouver to Tokyo.
  6. Seems to me that if the cruise is sold out, almost sold out, has a waiting list, TA holds, etc, there wouldn't be much of a reason to open bidding. Princess has bidding for their benefit, not ours. We have an Alaskan cruise on the Discovery in September. Since we booked the price has of our current cabin has gone up quite a bit. If Princess opened bidding for a higher category cabin, it wouldn't make sense to bid on it.
  7. Not just Princess. Holland America took the restrictions off also.
  8. The Medallion App has been updated to allow traditional dining. I imagine the next step will be that someone will post that they actually made their reservation. I haven't been able to do it yet for my September 21 reservation on the Discovery Princess.
  9. The app has been updated to Version 1.3.0. "We've added some new featuresYou can now make traditional dining reservationsf rom the app."
  10. Yes. $1051 Economy Flex Refundable with two stops, each with 1hr 25 min layovers.
  11. We have a TA booked on a HAL ship that disembarks in Rotterdam on April 20 followed by a 5 day river cruise that disembarks in Amsterdam on April 27. We booked a nonstop UA flight from AMS to SFO on April 27 using EzAir before the 5 day restriction for $1183.20. If I booked the same flight directly on the UA website it would be $2525. Fortunately, there are other airlines with prices comparable to the EzAir flight at the basic economy rate with at least one stop. Prices most likely will increase by final payment date. I am hopeful HAL doesn't cancel my booking, but nice to know they might work with me, especially if better flights show up and I want to make a change.
  12. It’s nice to have a 12 pack sitting on the desk when we first enter the room. It only costs $7.08. I’m not about to order a bottle of water from room service. Then again, I am possibly out of touch since we seldom go on excursions.
  13. Prior to cruise we purchase bottled water package. For example our upcoming 7 day Alaska cruise: Stateroom Bottled Water Package$7.08 for 12 (500 ml) bottles 12 (500 ml) bottles of water conveniently delivered to the stateroom. Price includes service charge. Pre-cruise exclusive
  14. We always liked Skywalkers except when someone was playing basketball on the deck above.
  15. We did that on our cruise last April on the Discovery Princess. Unfortunately, it took 3 days and several phone calls for them to get around to it.
  16. I see this new 5 day restriction also apples to Holland America Flight Ease. I have a HAL Transatlantic Cruise next April followed by a river cruise out of Amsterdam. I already made my flight reservation and hope they don't cancel as a regular commercial back to the states would cost twice as much.
  17. We were on Discovery in March/April and unable to make reservations on the App, but had no trouble getting a reservation directly at Sabatinis. In fact, a woman in front of us didn’t have a reservation and was seated. Of course this was at 5:00.
  18. Many of the same people bashing Princess for not coming through with more dining options on June 17.
  19. Holland America may feel like the Princess of old, but they are just as focused on turning a profit as Princess. For example, last September we booked a 13 day cruise from Vancouver to Yokohama including their early Have It All package that had crew appreciation for $4398 with a $200 deposit. For months after booking the cruise always showed sold out. I looked this morning and the cruise is available again for $5696 with a deposit of $600 and doesn't include crew appreciation in the Have It All package. I think John Padgett and the EDs of the other cruise lines are focused on paying the bills they racked up during the Pandemic.
  20. Two months is a long time. I think Princess just forgot about it.
  21. I'm going to post my complaint at 12:01 AM PST on June 18, 2024.
  22. June 17th has 24 hours. Still plenty of time to be within the announcement. Perhaps Princess gets some sort of sadistic joy out of watching all the childish people complain that it didn't start at midnight,
  23. https://www.princess.com/en-us/ships-and-experience/onboard-experience/food-and-dining/dining-reservations Early access for Captain's Circle Platinum and Elite members as well as guests booked in Reserve Collection and Suites.
  24. I think more of a request than a suggestion. The only problem I have is Princess saying the dress code is for the enjoyment of all our guests. Seems from all the posts on this subject that statement is far from reality. https://www.princess.com/en-us/faq/pre-cruise#what-to-pack-for-a-cruise Formal When formal nights are held, please observe the dress code in the dining venues for the enjoyment of all our guests. Evening gown, cocktail dress or elegant pant suit for women Tuxedo, dark suit or dinner jacket and slacks for men
  25. We recently booked a 7 day Alaskan cruise on Discovery Princess. Our favorite midship deluxe obstructed balconies were not available. Also, deluxe balconies were reserve only, so we booked an aft premium deluxe balcony for $3252 with a large balcony. Then we saw an aft mini suite available with a small balcony available for $3270. We traded the large balcony for the larger floor space, two TVs, larger couch and a bath tub.
