I am sorry that you had a disappointing cruise. It seems a shame to give up on Royal after so many previous positive experiences. Perhaps, you should try a different ship not during a school holiday period including Yeshiva week. You may also want to check out sister brand Celebrity.

Why not do the bus or rent a car at Hertz in Seward and return car at Anchorage Airport? The drive is scenic and be sure to stop at the Alaska Wildlife Center.

We also had a good experience on the Jade which it seems like you also did minus the excursions. Instead of putting NCL on the verboten list, why not keep using non-ship excursions? Also, it's good to try other lines. Our next cruise is on Celebrity.

Rainbow Cafe looks nice but expensive. Are all the restaurants on Grand Case Beach expensive? Is there jetski rental nearby? Are cabs readily available?

Have you also looked into Princess and HAL? Mein Schiff is a German line. Do you speak German?

Royal cancels Coco Cay or Labadee much less as they have a dock. The only show Royal cancels due to weather is the aquatheatre shows which are outside.

That's wonderful that you are taking a family cruise with your mom. The Harmony is a great ship. If you can sign up for assigned dining. Also, download the app and try to make show reservations for mom 30 days out. The first day can be overwhelming. We had lunch in Chops on our embarkation day and it was a great start to the cruise. I don't know if you still can do that.

We are looking for a beach day. We are not snorkelers. Two of us just like to relax on the beach with a cocktail. The third person enjoys water sports like jet ski is. From the port, we can take a water taxi to Great Bay, a short cab ride to Divi, or should we go to Orient, Mullet, or Grand Case Beach? Thanks.

I am so sorry that your insurance claim was denied and that NCL isn't helping you. There is an organization called Elliott Advocacy that you may want to see if they can help. We did use NCL Air and their travel insurance in 2022 for the first time and they handled everything beautifully with our travel and then later with a claim after we had to change our return travel due to covid. Generally speaking, it is best to arrive a couple days early to your port city. NCL Air program does allow flight deviations where you arrive 2 days early but you have to request it at least 75 days out way before you get your flights.

Our last cruise was the Jade. The Great Outdoors had snacks in the evening- I want to say from 9:30-11:30pm. Do the newer ships not have the Great Outdoors?

While all the lines are cutting back service and food choices, NCL has announced they are reducing entertainment. NCL's entertainment has been one of their chief selling points. I personally thinking reducing entertainment is a mistake.

Is there jet ski rentals there?

The NCL Jade was very nice. It had been renovated and was in good conditon.

I still wear my masks in crowded indoor places but I am definitely the minority even in crowded NYC subways

Agree about the two staterooms. The Harmony is a great ship and you will have so much fun. Make an y show reservations before you board the ship. I think they are available about 4 weeks out on Osis class ships. In Cozumel, there are beach clubs that offer day passes such as Mr Sanchos and Nachi. If you want to book through the Royal Caribean, we really enjoyed Chakanaab in Cozumel.

There are multiple threads on the Celebrity Board. Celebrity has scaled back the buffet in the evening to just 3-4 entrees, one food station, salad and dessert.
