  1. Thanks for all the replies. We have the Plus Package so we could use the app but from what I've seen there are no breakfast items except the breakfast sandwich. I'll probably give it a shot, start slow with bacon and work my way up to an omelette:-)
  2. I have a hard time leaving a cabin in the morning so I always use the breakfast card. In the past my husband also brought food down from the buffet. I see that some people have written extras on their breakfast card with some success. For example scrambled eggs and bacon. I would love to be able to do that I'm just not sure how well it's received by the crew. Has anyone been denied or gotten negative feedback for doing this? And should I add extra tip? It may not go to the person that did the extra work. Thanks!
  3. We were number one on the waitlist for an accessible mini suite and got it but we were just before final payment due (I think). I kind of had to get it myself. I watched which cabins were available constantly and saw one pop up. Unfortunately our Princess cruise rep was on vacation. So it took a few long phone calls and a live chat but we were moved. So we found it doesn't happen automatically. Plus we know the cabin availability pages are at least sometimes correct. I felt pushy but we got it done! Good luck!
  4. No increase in cost. It was from a mini suite to an accessible mini suite, that's what I meant by top of the waiting list. It was in the same category so it was a lateral move anyway.
  5. After unproductive phone calls and emails I tried chat. It took less than 5 minutes (we were top of the wait list so that may have helped.) Our account was updated and we received a confirmation email right away.
  6. Thank you! I'll give it try!
  7. One of the values we find using Plus is the experience. I don't drink in regular life health / medicine etc. But I have found bartenders that will make a drink for me half the size and a quarter the amount of alcohol. I can sample all I want! I absolutely love pretty frozen drinks but not virgin, if I'm going to have extra calories I'd rather have cake 🙂
  8. Is it against the rules to ask where we might find coupons? We booked with a Princess Agent.
  9. Thank you! Do you know if we can book in the Sanctuary before the cruise? Or is that the place everybody runs to for reservations immediately? I'm assuming it's wheelchair accessible.
  10. I'm always warm so I'm usually uncomfortable in saunas but sounds like there's more to it. My DH and I have all kinds of muscle issues. Thanks for sharing
  11. We're on Crown Princess and I thought I read there were some cabanas or lounge chairs to rent next to the adults only pool. We really wouldn't use saunas, steam rooms, spa treatments etc. But I'd love a dedicated spot by a quieter pool.
  12. Can we reserve and pay for an enclave cabana ahead of time? The only option I see online is for the thermal suite. This has probably been answered but I'm really bad at searching. Thanks!
  13. All great advice and the encouragement is really nice! This is the only social media site I use for a reason 😊
  14. Thanks! Both great tips and I feel better about a scooter now
  15. I've been getting great advice here for my upcoming Cruise so I thought I'd ask another question. I'm not sure if I should bring my electric wheelchair or mobility scooter. The mobility scooter is more comfortable but it's so big. I'm not a great driver on the electric wheelchair and may not be as comfortable sitting for long spans of time. But the size and being able to pull up to a table would be very nice. For reference I can walk unaided about 10 to 30 ft (sometimes) and I can stand for a few minutes at a time. And we're in an accessible (woohoo) mini suite so space in the cabin isn't a problem. Thanks in advance for any advice!
  16. Thank you so much for the advice! The elevators not going to all floors didn't even occur to me. And I will definitely do all my moving around when the lights are on! I learned not to lean forward on our last cruise. Knocked over everything at the hamburger grill. A very nice man with a very big drink helped with clean up 😊
  17. I'll be using an electric wheelchair for our cruise in February. I've cruised in the past with a standard wheelchair/walker combo. That was really tough. I didn't think about all the different kinds of flooring and doorways you have to go through and no shocks on that thing. As a first time electric wheelchair user I'd like to know if there's some etiquette I should learn about. I know elevators are going to be a problem. I wasn't very fast with my walker and people just flowed around me and filled it up. But I really don't want to crowd the door. I like the idea of getting on regardless if it's going up or down and just taking a ride. We're in an accessible room right by the aft elevators which is wonderful! Does anyone know if there is plenty of seating in the theater accessible section? Or should I try to get there really early if I want to see a show? And going to the Horizon Court, just pull the chair out and pull the wheelchair up? I can walk a little bit to get some food or DH will bring it to me. If I pull up my wheelchair in another restaurant, lounge, public area to sit in a more comfortable chair does anyone get irritated that I'm taking up a seat? And this last question is probably silly but if I'm parked and I can't keep my eye on it all the time, maybe by going in a store or the pool, is it safe to leave partially unattended? I'm a bit nervous and really appreciate all the advice. Sorry I've been so wordy 🙂
  18. Accessible cabin booked! Two phone calls, one email and finally the chat option. Thanks to all for the advice!
  19. This is the end page that doesn't seem to allow a courtesy hold option. I think I'll be crossing fingers and waiting until morning.
  20. I can't hold the room without a deposit. Unless there's a page I'm missing? It just says hold with a deposit today. And the Princess chat is closed. Thanks for the ideas
  21. We're booked in a mini suite for our February cruise. I use a wheelchair so we had them put us on the wait list for an accessible room and they said we were at the top and would email if one opens up. I saw one open up on the website today so watched our email with no luck. Tried to call and have it changed. No luck. It was hard to understand but he said it wasn't available and I needed to just wait for the email. Then tried to sell me a excursions etc. I can make a dummy booking with it all the way to the non-refundable deposit. The question is should I just settle down and wait for tomorrow and try to deal with the Princess representative we booked with originally? Or should I call again and hope for another agent? I'm hoping somehow the email is behind the amount of booked passengers and it actually may still go to us automatically. There aren't very many accessible mini suites and don't want to miss it, will make a big difference to our enjoyment and places to store both my wheelchair and walker. Thanks in advance
  22. Our first cruise was on Celebrity to Alaska and it hooked us on cruising. It felt upscale and classy with amazing service. Tried lots new foods, dressed up for formal night and hoped i wouldn't spill anything. Our next two were on Princess to Mexico. More casual with a bit of a party atmosphere. Had a fantastic time! Definitely a better fit for us. However we're tucked in by 8:00 pm so no clue about the nightlife.
  23. My husband had 2 knee replacements 3 months apart this year. 57, good health, first surgery ever but hard recovery. He wouldn't have enjoyed much activity at that point except walking. And traveling to a port city would've been uncomfortable (flying ect.) But so motivating! Go! Bring ice packs for swelling and don't overbook yourself. We're on the Crown in February:) Best of luck for your surgery!
