  1. Yeah! See you then.

Interestingly we have two balcony cabins near the end of that hallway on 14. Curious as to if there will be a lot of traffic. (Especially since you're telling everyone!!! :D )

The access to that area is on deck 14 forward on the port (left) side. So, if you are on the port side you will only be affected briefly, just before and after sail aways.

  2. My assumption would be that, first it requires a fairly large ship. Other lines with ships large enough seem to use that space for cabins, etc. Promenades require a lot of open space in the interior of the ship that others feel they can put to better use. I do not agree, I think the promenades are one of the features that separates Royal from the other cruise lines.

  3. Oh, so super Mario is just a guest on the cruise ship that cruises a lot, and not the fictional character from the video game?

Mario more or less lives aboard the Royal Caribbean ships. He sails over 350 days per year, only going ashore to change ships every three or four months. He is so well known because he is by far the top cruiser in the Crown and Anchor Society with over 6,000 cruise credits. I believe he is a financial advisor and works from the ship. He is a very friendly, nice guy.

  4. On the Freedom last week Giovanni's had a new menu. They no longer offer the filet mignon and have replaced it with a strip steak. The strip steak was fatty and could not compare to the filet they used to offer. Now if you want a decent steak you are forced to go to Chops. The strip steak offered now is no better than what you get in the MDR or Windjammer.

  5. Was just watching ships leave Port Canaveral late due to Hurricane Matthew having port closed the last few days and was wondering about everyone else's feelings.

If I had made plans for a cruise for months as is the norm, sometimes years, I would be disappointed to not get to "celebrate" sail away during the daytime as originally scheduled. I know it is NOBODY'S fault, it just would be a bit disappointing.

We have sailed late when leaving from San Juan and really wasn't fond of that either but the time was expected.

    What is your feelings?

    Tim

Everything is back to normal in Port Canaveral. Back to back cruisers re-boarded the Freedom at 10:15 a.m.

  6. I was trying to decide whether to zipline in Labadee myself nexr year. My coworker said he saw that people kept getting stuck.

Sent from my SM-G928T using Forums mobile app

Your reference to getting stuck must mean people were not going all the way to the end on the long run. If so it was people who were either too light to build the momentum necessary to take them to the spring brakes or they just did not follow directions. Did not see anyone have a problem during my flight time.

  7. We got our first block this past January on Oasis. Well, actually we got 2 of them! I had gone to the Loyalty Ambassador on the 2nd day of the cruise to make sure he knew we were supposed to get one. We would reach 140 points on day 5. He had a list with several names on it including mine who were to get the blocks and he said it would be delivered to our cabin. On the afternoon on day 5 I went to out cabin and checked to see if it was there and it was not. I saw out cabin steward and told him what I was looking for. When we got back to the cabin that evening there it was. The next day our cabin steward came to me and said that he had put the one in there the day before but that he had just gotten our block from the LA and wanted to know if we wanted it also. I said sure and then gave it to our daughter and son-in-law who often cruise with us.

A word to the wise, if you are carrying the block with your carry-on bags when you check through security at the airport, be sure and have the block out and send it through in a bin. I had mine in the bottom of my back pack and they search it because the notice something when it went through the scanner. They took everything out of the backpack, opened the boxes with the blocks in them and used the little piece of cloth and wiped them and ran it through the analyzer. I kept wondering the whole time who might have touched those before we got them. Everything was fine but I will keep them out next time.

My understanding is the lead content of the crystal block the X-rays and it just shows as an opaque block which they must examine. Best to do as you say and keep it out for them to see.

  8. There are several categories of full suites on Allure. Star class which comes with a genie and has a black sea pass card and Sky class which has a blue sea pass card. I know that the Internet provided free to Star class is the surf and stream package. Not sure what is provided to Sky class, but I believe it is surf and stream also.

  9. They instituted the no smoking policy on balconies because of several ship fires. Anyone caught smoking on their balcony should be kicked off the ship at the next port. If they cause a fire they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They are legally entitled to destroy their own health, but when they endanger others they need to be treated accordingly.

  10. Congratulations on your wedding. You will love the Allure. The only thing I can think of that they will do for you - is expect you to try out for the "newlywed"couple on the Love and Marriage Show.

Again congratulations and have a wonderful cruise.

I was going to say the same thing. If you are both outgoing and engaging it would create quite a memory to be selected for the Love and Marriage Show. Try to meet the Cruise Director Dru or someone from the activities staff on day one or two and express interest in the show.

  11. If all the guests have to be off the ship, I'm just wondering how this would work with back to back cruisers? When we've done a b2b in the past, we got off, went through customs and got right back on again. The whole process took maybe 10 minutes.

    Just curious.

As a b2b cruiser you will get off around the normal time, but you will be kept in the terminal until the CG inspection is finished and then you will be the first group to board the ship.
