  1. Firstly no form was issued at all on Onward it’s a small QR code hidden in the Insider one day and most people miss it. I suspect re bar issues it would have been pointless- we had a conversation with the F and B manager about the passing off of sparkling white wine as champagne. He confirmed there WAS champagne onboard (Nicolas) and it would be in the Atlas bar that night. It wasn’t. Bar supervisor denied there was any champagne. Next day back to F and B. He was pretty angry with whoever was blocking things. There is now Nicolas in Atlas but if you’re not careful they still serve you the sparkling wine instead. The level below senior officer are not really as competent as they should be. The bar staff just do as the supervisors say. Re tonic couldn’t stand the hassle so bought our own supplies ashore and topped it up when stock got low- it was far easier than this no we don’t have yes you do have hassle So future guests on Onward be aware mid cruise feedback forms are not obvious and no mention is made of them unlike on the other ships. If you want to give feedback you have to search out how to do it (HD is also not quite as visible as on other ships - maybe all the meetings are keeping them elsewhere)
  2. Onward is very much work in progress re service and food quality. They know they have issues and have had head office people onboard looking at things so hopefully there are quick fixes before you sail. Entertainment is good and if you have your Azamazing evening on St Kitts it’s a great event showcasing Island music and song.
  3. I suspect as with many things it was onboard but they had poor stock control. So I think you had indeed been paying attention Unfortunately Atlas has had the abomination Club all cruise with no Schweppes even last night. Last night the back of Atlas was cluttered up with tea cups and silver jugs it was as if someone had unpacked a box they’d found. But sadly no decent tonic. The other night we’d to wait 30 minutes whilst they found Aviation gin - it should not be like that!
  4. They have it open from the start of service
  5. Restaurant still has the small ones for some servers and larger for others. I don’t think the size of the device would be the excuse as to why after asking us if anyone had allergies and appearing to record it on the device a meal containing nuts was delivered. Surely the waiter can use their eyes. This incident is being investigated as it wasn’t correctly reported to senior officers I’m glad your trip worked for you. We’ve tried oh so much to like Onward and yea we keep hearing about visas and stuff in containers but that has worn thin for what we paid. Thank goodness the islands and entertainment were good. There are many from HO onboard going through the place like a dose of salts and finding things to sort so hopefully the up coming cruises are much better
  6. Much needed. Onboard staff can’t cope with the new IT for meal ordering so hope it improves all round. But I fear the technology is bumping the old fashioned service standards onboard On Onward drinks ordering is so impersonal gone are the days you show them your card once and they remember you. Three times in the last 90 minutes sitting on the same lounger we’ve had to give our room number to the same guy for San Pellegrino. There are a few disengaged staff like that onboard now who hide behind the technology
  7. Every day on Onward either in the Cabaret Lounge, Poolside or Living Room the sound in excess of 90db gets triggered on my watch repeatedly. They could easily dial down a notch and make it far more pleasant for everyone
  8. Confirmed last night Eric is now making arrangements to rejoin on 12th in Miami. Last night second of the new production shows - Wanderlust- a nice collection of songs and dancing though the “story” was a little hard to work out. Cast did well. None of them have worked on ships before so they had to adapt to the movement- especially the two dancers. Got our first 100% correct meal properly cooked and served at the right temperature in the MDR last night - yippee- unfortunately others around had made different choices and were less lucky. I’d say generally avoid duck, quail, pheasant onboard they can’t get that right. Pork and chicken works in our experience fish is hit or miss. But it’s inconsistent a couple can order identical dishes one gets a good offering the others is inedible. They know they have issues.
  9. Tortola really was so lovely and colourful. Best trip from a walk up booking Beautiful Sugarcane beach Lovely views An old rum distillery And Happy Christmas decorations
  10. Thanks. Captain inferred it was a change
  11. Always open for lunch open some evenings but not all. Might try it tonight as the MDR hasn’t been great in terms of the temperature of the food
  12. I cannot work at all on Onward. Tried different devices, locations and times of day. My connection to our work remote server is too weak to allow me to clear security protocols. I’m not the only one having this issue which I did not have in the summer on Journey or Quest. It’s a big deal for me, it’s not about social chit chat it’s about remote working. I can do it on other lines I’ve done it on other ships in the Azamara family but having tested the download speeds they are very low indeed.
  13. For those on 12/12 Onward Captain G has just announced we are returning to Terminal C not J that we departed from. Unfortunately we will experience 3-5m swell and 45knots winds on the way back starting in a few hours. Tortola was an absolute delight. We took an island tour 2 hours (it was nearer 2.5) with the local scoutmaster as driver. Delightful guy took 16 walk ups in a safari type bus all around sharing his hopes for the future and his desire to prepare the next generation to make the best of the island and all it offered. Internet is playing up (it’s been absolutely appalling all cruise) so can’t post photos but will do when I can
  14. They choose times that work for the peak dining times. I much prefer them to the 1900 and 2030 offering they tried for a while. The shows on Onward have been well attended at both times so it looks like it’s working for the majority.
  15. We ate part of the meal in the MDR then moved to the deck Iwans crepe Suzette were the best we’ve ever had. I heard mixed views on the other food. Certainly I’d planned to indulge in cheese but there wasn’t the usual display of special cheeses and I’m pretty sure there were no lobsters. Party was using the old playlist- they did as best they could we no Eric and no signature singers as they are new onboard. The Hotel Director was helping out with some of the numbers. We left port before the end so it got a bit breezy. Despite a few sprinkles I felt most folks enjoyed. And it was good to see those without white gear felt able to be there. I wasn’t the only one not in a white top
  16. Currently it is 2015 and 2130
  17. Thanks. We sure will but we are only there until 1330 so plans have to reflect that. Just for those on future itineraries having the Azamazing evening in St Kitts it really is a lovely event with pretty strong rum punches! I’d possibly take an umbrella as we had sprinkles but they came to nothing. Last night they could not do the new show due to technical issues. Martin did one show I hear was good. As it was at 2015 we were still dining then so unfortunately missed it. Tonight is White Night. It’s breezy but dry. Unfortunately the menu in the MDR is much reduced from how it used to be on White Night - three courses limited choice nothing special. Still trying to decide what to do as I struggle to cope in a buffet crowds these days. Also I will not be wearing white and whilst I know it’s not required the whole voyage we’ve had marketing everywhere doing promotional stuff and I fear I’d muck it up for them!
  18. Due to sea conditions Onward will not call at Virgin Gorda on Friday where tendering would be a challenge but fair play we are going to dock in Tortola a new island for us
  19. First outdoor Azamazing evening last night on the pier at St Maarten - enjoyable evening though the rain did make a brief experience. Hearing mixed views - there were rum punches (strong) stilt walkers fire eaters a marching band, dancers and a band so it was not a cheap evening for Azamara!
  20. I asked and was told they don’t know ???? Re champagne according to the f and b manager there is plenty onboard and Nicolas reappeared last night in the Atlas Bar. It took a bit to get the bar manager to “find the stock”
  21. Agree. I was briskly told last night not to have a certain wine “as I wouldn’t like it”. Actually just had it at lunchtime and I do like it. We found the gentleman’s knowledge of wine to be very poor so a lot of training is needed. (And we are NOT wine experts)
  22. Absolutely. And with no “enforcement” checking times everyone starts to ignore their slot. Miami was slow and no one cared what time was on your pass.
  23. We did not go into town. The only place was saw was Little Switzerland. None of the shops at the port were open because we were not scheduled to be there
