  1. This forum was never like that til MSC grew its market in the US. Now itā€™s dominated by YC and US sailings; things being stated as fact when the information may only apply regionally, etc. Iā€™ve seen people make erroneous statements about Med cruises despite never having been on one.
  2. Very interested in hearing from you as weā€™re due to visit the day after.
  3. Totally agree. We were on Edge. Apart from Luminae (which is a lovely restaurant, but the food offerings werenā€™t for us so we went to the MDRs) the Retreat does not offer anything like YC. The Retreat pool bar is a joke - hard wooden junior infant school style chairs and tables, limited drinks and food menu. Compare with YC full bar on pool deck with buffet breakfast and lunch. Then, the suite lounge. Again, full bar and comfortable TSL with evening entertainment vs no bar and small Retreat lounge that was empty most nights.
  4. Hi SC. Currently on Seascape. Never did get to meet up after almost doing so on Divina. Devilled rooster is on the lunch menu today. Had it on Meraā€™s first sailing and it was delish. Hopefully itā€™ll be as good here today. Also, filet mignon, beautifully charred, was good the other night. Had it in the Aurea MDR last night and missed the charring.
  5. With Ocean Cay, even when open, thereā€™s no guarantee youā€™ll make the island if the weather isnā€™t playing nice. (I guess you can say that about any port). Unfortunately thatā€™s the risk you take when cruising.
  6. Sorry. - I was speaking generally. Not everyone on here sails YC. Easy Plus (& Premium drinks package) would cover the menu drinks.
  7. All items on the menu are complimentary apart from the drinks. I gave the shortcake a second go - it was a little better than last time. The previous photo didnā€™t show the strawberries and cream sandwiched between the shortcake, so hereā€™s one that does
  8. The brunch is indicated in the YC daily planner
  9. Saw a plate piled high with iced donuts on a table in an MDR at breakfast not touched!!!! (Also lots of other items left on plates, too šŸ˜Œ)
  10. We found that it was quiet enough going to the brunch around 12 pm. Canā€™t speak for the sort of service you might experience as ours was very personal.
  11. Yep - glad I did. I was expecting different. Silly me. šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ As a veteran MSC cruiser I should keep expectations low enough to give them a fair chance to exceed them. šŸ™ˆ
  12. Iā€™ll ask but I very much doubt theyā€™d staff the Aegean just in case a few YCers want to have the brunch (there isnā€™t an Aurea area in The Green Wave MDR, which is the Brunch venue).
  13. As a ā€œYC peerā€™ service is no different to regular MDR service (itā€™s an MDR experience, after all). Having said that, we had the very best personal, attentive, service ever, due to knowing one of the Capitaneā€™s in the dining room.
  14. Hope itā€™s better than what I had. Mine was dense and dry.
  15. Perhaps the opening times would be influential in YC guests giving the brunch a try. It was quite busy at times, but, if you chose carefully, it was quite civilised. šŸ˜†. I know that Mr B would be delighted to see some of the items on the YC breakfast menu, such as huevos rancheros and/or shakshuka. These are standard breakfast offerings in Luminae and/or on Azamara.
  16. Iā€™d wondered if Seascape was due to be the first to visit (after the scheduled reopening, 2 days later). Interesting that Meraviglia is the one to be. It was also scheduled to be the first to visit when the island first opened, but the works hadnā€™t been completed (we were on that sailing šŸ˜Œ) Wouldnā€™t surprise me if Nassau will be the substitute call if the opening is delayed. I imagine that the captain wonā€™t announce a change (if necessary) til the last minute.
  17. Correction - itā€™s 8am to 1.30pm.
  18. 7am to 1.30pm on Seascape on sea days.
  19. My first ever cruise was on Carnival (2000). (Thought Iā€™d never cruise again! Forward to 2011, MSC, cruise bug bit). I donā€™t recollect piano bar entertainment. My abiding memory was a Beatles tribute in one of the lounges; absolutely loved it, but it was sooo short. Same on NCL (in ā€œThe Caveā€ - you really had to get there way before the show to get a seat - way too small a venue for such a popular event ). Why canā€™t cruise lines see that a Beatles tribute is still a huge draw?? I know that MSC does a ā€˜tributeā€™ in the theatre, but a whole night in one of the lounges would be a real treat. Having said that, I wish that entertainers onboard wouldnā€™t make their own arrangements when doing Beatles ā€˜tributesā€™ (thinking of our experience on Seashore in the Med).
  20. On Seascape thereā€™s dual piano players in the Times Square lounge. (Nothing like ā€˜Duelling Pianosā€™ on NCL! )
  21. Youā€™ll automatically get 5% discount when you status match. Hereā€™s the deal for Voyagers Club members
  22. All cruises on the UK site are priced in GBP.
