  1. Unless you’re dragging luggage around with you.
  2. Because some folks just don’t want to use the far more efficacious Search feature here on CC.
  3. O hotels vary. But, Intercontinental Miami is one of them and excellent (including ultra-short distance to the port (you can see your ship from there too). The big problem with O hotels is that the cost is per person for the hotel’s regular per room (for 2) rate. FWIW: on those rare occasions when we need to leave from Miami (yuck!), we’ll use the Intercontinental always.
  4. Check out Execucar (Super Shuttle’s private transfer division). We’ve also used Capricorn Luxury in NYC. Also, for private airport transfers worldwide, you can get a good idea of what’s available by searching on the Mozio.com search engine.
  5. “In house” company show ensemble mostly changes every contract. Other entertainers come and go. There are officer invited dinners, at least, for elite O Club members. But, depending on the nature of your interactions, you may find yourself invited more than once and/or even if you’re not at an elite O Club level (e.g., Platinum).
  6. That can vary- particularly on long single segment cruises of 3 weeks +\- where there is far less repeating (same goes for the ATW cruise).
  7. BTW: a good way to see this in practice is to follow your target flights (and others) on the ITA Matrix website, which will allow you to look at most of the ways to get from A to B (and even back from C). There’s no tix sold. But, it’s the best way to see the big picture for your particular needs.
  8. I think some folks are missing the key issue related to OP’s post: S/he is asking about using a credit card to get the money. It’s not the possible FTF or ATM bank fees that will kill him. It’s the start of immediate interest accrual on the CC balance when you use it for a cash withdrawal.
  9. USD = “coin of the realm” on O ships.
  10. On most airlines these days, both fares and FF tix use “dynamic pricing.” And, in particular (with, at least, some airlines), fares at the start of the booking window may be quite high (in part to capture corporate business travelers and to test the market for others. After a few weeks we may find more reasonable fares. But, after that, dynamic pricing rules.
  11. Just like an original prescription bottle provides no easy proof of what’s inside it.
  12. We usually do some self-serve laundry on the ships. “Ocean safe” detergent is supplied. So, please do not use your own pods or other detergents that are not certified as safe for maritime environments. And enough people are sickened by (or just hate) scented dryer sheets, that you should eschew using them. BTW: No charge to use them (though I still have some tokens from years ago).
  13. True - all depends on who is running the show. What is standard across-the-board is that elite O Club members get a separate invitation to an early entry (and official thanks) to the O Club events. But, whether admission is controlled depends on who is the O Club Ambassador onboard. Some will manage that early entry and greet the elite by name. Others do not and it’s nothing “special” or “extra.”
  14. Some airlines are notorious for high fares when the booking window opens. In addition, a lot of the fare differences you’ll see are mostly because of routes, connections, layovers. That “cheapest” fare can be a real “horror show.”
  15. In the case of Clelford, it wasn’t just one cruise or one interaction/observation. And I wasn’t the only person very dissatisfied. In addition, my assessment has a professional component from multiple perspectives (I won’t bore you with the details).
  16. NO. All passengers on all itineraries must have a valid passport.
  17. OP is asking about using a credit card - not an ATM card.
  18. The best way to use this particular “chat board” is to use the “search” feature first. There, you’d have found numerous previous posts regarding the end of the “7 bottles.” And the “months ago” was referring to when it stopped - not when the various posts happened.
  19. NO NO NO - not a good idea. if you use a CC to withdraw cash from an ATM, interest rates start applying to your CC immediately.
  20. Lest we forget, remember that Ray’s faithful companion, Luigi, was similarly honored on that memorable day. Long live the Friends of Johnny Tokyo!
  21. As was posted previously, not all SBC is created equal. SBC provided by your TA does not appear in your online account nor on your Oceania invoice. Even some O provided SBC (other that O Club and O Life SBC) may not show on your web account. And only that SBC can be used to prepay items like excursions an other stuff that ends up in the web Cart. Also, you can inform O if you don’t want to automatically use your SBC for pre-purchases.
  22. Spa deck door left open by accident or propped open on purpose is very different than “open to anyone” (which it is not, at least, not without a charge). Lower cabin classes can purchase a day pass.
  23. ….or finding info that it was continued (and that would be because it’s GONE). I’ve already posted previously that it was discontinued (actually months ago). The “seven bottle” deal, along with the “bin end list,” were among the first things I checked out on embarkation day. But on my last two multisegment cruises (both within the past six months), there were no “7 bottle” flyers, posters, mentions in Currents, etc.: GONE!!! Even then, I asked two GMs I know about it and they told me exactly what I previously posted here. Of course, if you still don’t believe me, you could disregard my informed response, not BYOB and hope for the best when you start your cruise. 🤔😳😢
  24. No- there was a first timer party on each segment of our winter/spring Regatta cruise. Also worth mentioning that, if you are an “elite” O Club member (Platinum or above), you’ll usually get an invite to each “repeater” party in a segment. And multi-segment folks can do each Captain’s Welcome. Add to that Happy Hour twofers, officer dinner invites, favorite bar tenders and O’s liberal BYOB policy (PLEASE obey the corkage rule!) and you may find no need to do the O Life booze package or the Prestige upgrade.
