We could ALL recall instances where people arent doing well now or are less fortunate.
The OP is new to cruising and is a little upset that her cruise got cancelled. While its not the end of the world for sure, do you REALLY have to be rude?
Thank you!

At least you have a good length of time to prepare for the change. Imagine how folks feel when their cruise gets cancelled with very short notice as happened to folks when Allure went into an unscheduled repair of its center pod.
I can't even imagine. That's awful.
What does royal usually do for all those passengers who have booked, paid for flights, shuttles, hotels etc? What happens when someone has picked a particular room and is not available on the next available itinerary?

You have plenty of time to regroup and rebook. You have over 6 months until you sail. Sorry but its not the end of the world.
Its my first trip, so yeah to me its a PIA to have to reschedule everything I've already done outside of just the cruise.

TA said dry dock?
As long as I don't have to pay more. Then I'm A OK.

Well that's a given Lol.
Meaning what happens if I lose my room and now have to reschedule everything? Do I get the same price I was locked in at? Or am I going to have to pay more because they canceled?

Just heard from my TA. confirmed my cruise has been cancelled. I'm so sad. Now I have to reschedule everything, lose my room that I REALLY wanted. I want to cry. My very first cruise and it's canceled
What happens when the cruise line themselves cancel??

It was my teen, smoked the whole house and then she tried to reuse it again. Now the wife wants to remodel both bathrooms upstairs.

Ooohhhhh Lol I thought that was on one of the ships.

Be careful with straighteners.

This was our bathroom counter from one that didn't turn off. In case of a shipboard fire, you can't just leave.

Yikes did you leave that plugged in? Eeeek. I always unplug everything when I'm done using it.

This will be more for straighteners, curling irons, camera batteries.

Use a belkin power strip and no trouble.
Thanks. I'll have to add it to my "list" of items to purchase.

Officially not allowe, but frequently overlooked. The small 3 plug surge protecter style seems more likely to get through. The cruise lines consider them fire hazards...
"Fire hazards" Haha that's the silliest thing I have ever heard.

I've seen some controversial topics about bringing a power strip on board.
There will be 3 people staying in my room and all women.
This will be my very first cruise and wanted to bring a power strip.
are they allowed? Not allowed?

Just keep in mind by chance that it is a full charter do not cancel your cruise. Let RCI contact you about it. They should offer you some sort of compensation to change dates or perhaps ships. If you cancel on your own you'll get nothing. Hopefully this isn't the case but it can and does happen.
Oh I definitely don't plan on cancelling my trip! :-)
I'm too excited about my first cruise!

It must be The Cruise of Irish Stars.

From reading his website yes that is what they're calling it
I've never heard of him.

I highly doubt the ship is full this far out. Try again at a different time or on a weekday. They may be doing website upgrades.
That's what I'm thinking. Rooms on board are usually still available a week out.

Try doing a google search for your ship and sailing date and see if it might be a full charter.
The only thing I came across was someone named Andy Cooney will be on our cruise. Never heard of him before. He had his own page selling cruise prices. The E2 category is $1,352 for balcony. Yikes! I paid $832pp.

Keep checking. Could be a glitch in the system, or even a full ship charter.
Wow full ship this far out? Seems kind of odd for FOS to be completely sold out almost a year out.
Anyone know why it might be sold out this far?

So I went and checked on my sailing date for 1/18/15 to see if there's been a price drop and all categories are showing N/A
what does this mean? The entire boat is completely sold out 9 months out?
If it is completely sold out, my initial thought would be there will not be a price drop and please correct me if I'm wrong.
Or is there just a system error and they're doing an update?

It's difficult to find unanimity on any topic posted to this board. But you're receiving unanimous advice from very experienced flyers (and I'm not close to being in the same league as several who have responded):
* Anything below $300 is excellent for your route and date of travel. If the undesirable aspects of the $240 AA fare are acceptable to you, it's an unbeatable deal.
* Fares come, then go away permanently without warning.
* My personal speculation is the $240 fare will disappear tomorrow (Friday) by mid-day central time if it hasn't disappeared already. FYI, the next cheapest far has increased from $360 to $390 unless you're willing to arrive home to a different airport, have 6+ hour connecting times, etc.
Your string of stalling tactics (just pointing it out) is perplexing. That's your business of course, except that you've asked for advice and others with tons of experience have responded with a boatload of quality advice.
Take everyone's recommendation on the $240 fare...going on a computer isn't going to change things a bit, except that the wait will probably cost you $150. Hope this knocks things back on-track and you get the $240 fare.
It's not that I'm using a stalling tactic at all. Just looking through options.
I went on last night to grab the $240 fare last night because I know that's a great deal and it wasn't there anymore either. I looked 3 times for it and now I cannot find it.
Your right I should have grabbed it when I saw it.
I'll figure it out.

Yeah I'm just as confused. Lol
I'll figure it out at some point. Just thinking I want to view all of my options. I think I need to get on an actual computer and look through everything. Being on a cell phone searching has its restrictions.

Oh I won't :-)
Just going to wait it out a bit until southwest and JetBlue comes out with their schedules. I still have 9 months to go.
Since no ones in agreement on what they want to do, I won't wait around if I find a great price. We will all make it down one way or another. Whether we're all on the same plane or not. I can't be held accountable for people not getting their acts together.

@Tropicalisland- Have you booked your ticket? I hope so. I came across a saved search and noticed the $282 fare went away Tuesday afternoon. Now, everything leaving the Thursday before and returning the Monday after the cruise is $325+ with very inconvenient schedules. Let us know how it turned out
No not yet. No ones budging. But however I did see the airfare Dropped down to $240 with a few adjustments. Messing with the dates a little. I have three weeks vacation to use. So I may just spread some time around to save a little on flights
