  1. You wouldn't necessarily have to change your modem/router. We kept the internet with the original supplier (Spectrum) and just cut out the landline and cable tv. No changes needed.
  2. With YouTubeTV, you will likely get all your regular local channels -- with ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX -- and you just tell the service what shows you want to watch and it records them regardless of what channel they're on. If all you watch is "regular tv" (not old series or movies), there is no need for a bunch of different streaming services. YouTubeTV has everything you get with a basic cable system, and you can add on things like HBO, Starz, or Showtime for an extra fee, just like with cable.
  3. My landlord dropped cable and phone and just has internet, then subscribed to YouTubeTV, which gives access to all the main channels (including @Sea Dog's beloved Hallmark channel!) and local tv stations. Not sure what he's paying for internet these days (it's all included in my rent), but pretty sure he has the fastest speed they offer.
  4. Definitely talk to her doctor... while she may not be able to go rock climbing, I can't imagine that she'd be unable to just cruise in general three months after surgery (or the same for you with hernia surgery). My orthopedic surgery is aware of my intention, when I have a knee replacement, to do my first month of PT at home, and my second and third month aboard a cruise ship.
  5. I made an online order today (25% off Cyber Monday!), and at checkout I had the option to LEAVE A TIP!!! I couldn't believe it... a tip for an online order.
  6. I was shocked at the number of people who had full-on door wreaths last year when I was cruising at this time. I'm guessing that they were Florida residents who drove to the port -- I can't imagine packing that in a suitcase and flying!
  7. I usually re-read my posts after they are submitted, but this time I didn't get a chance to because my patient's heartrate was doing all kinds of funky stuff (so annoying when someone's trying to die when I'm busy on CC! 🤣) and I had to go check on him... by the time I saw my typo, the time to edit had lapsed. It is REALLY bugging me, even though nobody cares and it has nothing really to do with the post in the first place! Yes, I know I have a problem! 🤪
  8. GAH, I was posting at work and didn't notice this typo... my son's GF is 22, not 24. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, but the perfectionist side of me is twitching right now because I can't go back and edit it!
  9. Man, that first trimester fatigue is nothing to mess with... I used to have to get up in the morning, eat breakfast, go back to bed and nap, then get up to go to work, then nap on my office floor during lunch, then nap after work, make dinner, then go to bed. I don't know how women with other kids survive it -- I only had to keep me and the dog alive, and he could feed himself! We were talking about this at work today... my ex has two turkeys and a spiral ham, and it's just him, me, our son (23), and his girlfriend (24)! I'm envisioning a lot of turkey and sammiches in my future!!!
  10. Just curious, which beaches/pool areas did you survey while you were there?
  11. It actually isn't. People seem to just lose weight until they get to the right spot, and then they just maintain.*** Diabetics who aren't overweight to begin with take it just fine. *** This is assuming that there are no other causes for weight loss, unrelated to Ozempic.
  12. The weight loss aspect of Ozempic was a "happy accident" ... and you can bet the pharmaceutical company is doing the happy dance all the way to the bank now!
  13. I could see that.... IF they weren't going to have FIVE different bars at Hideaway Beach!
  14. I'm always VERY clear about my expectations regarding logging off before logging on with a different device. Now that it just auto-bumps someone off instead of not allowing another to log on, it's not too much of a problem. If it ever got really bad, I could go to the Voom desk and change the username and PIN at any time during the cruise. Then they'd have to hunt me down (I do give them my room number) to get the new credentials, and I can go over the fact that they HAVE to log off before changing devices. But I've never had to resort to that.
  15. This is one thing I never understood... the regular pool is HUGE, but it only has ONE bar and it's always PACKED, often five people deep at every single bar stool. With all the emphasis on selling drinks to people, why don't they have more bars at the Oasis Lagoon? There are never enough roving waiters, or else the line wouldn't always have 50-100 people waiting for a drink at the swim-up bar.
  16. If you google his user name and the word travel, it should take you to his website with his contact info. It's someone who regularly posts here with helpful information about when deposits are fully refundable, etc.
  17. I regularly by the 4-device plan for just myself, then "sell" the other three accesses to people in my roll call group. I set up the username and PIN, then I tell it to each person when they meet up with me on Day One to pay me (cash or PayPal). It works out great, b/c we all get cheaper internet this way.
