Sorry, I couldnt tell you what a D1 is. Ours was a 2C, OV with large balcony. It was on the hump. I know it was not the lowest available.
Web rate was 4 grand since it was in late June.
We got 7 points, only paid taxes and tips. $422 total.
Taking the 2018 Prime cruise next week. Inside cabin. Expect to get 7 points
You will get the points for the casino royale cruise. Last July when we took our C&A free cruise they told me to just pay tips and port charges. But no points unless we upgraded.

Who is they?
The person from C&A that I talked to when I made our free pinnacle cruise reservation. They were adamant that no points would be awarded unless we upgraded. Also the new certificates state lowest available balcony, not "any" available. They did not hold me to that one though. We booked a D1 then upgraded to a WS guarantee. Got 14 points for the 7 night cruise.

The entrance is on deck 11. For a T/A they will probably open an overflow lounge on deck 4.
I was just looking it seems the Allure will only be taking passengers on the westbound voyage.
So by then the diamond lounge should be on deck 4. Deck 11 and 12 will be Wonderland.
They should have a cappuccino machine. If it is working will be another story.

They told me the only way we could gets points was to upgrade for our free pinnacle cruise. For our prime cruises we got points no problem. But no holidays. and you can not use the balcony discount ( if you upgrade) on the free prime cruise

Here is an idea for those who live in the Houston/Galveston surrounding areas. If you have a big house, you can open up a business B&B&T. Bed & Breakfast and Transportation to the pier. This will be a good and demanding business since the Oasis class is coming to Galveston. Earn extra money for your cruise. 🙂
I would not count on an Oasis class ship in Galveston. They are booking cabins on the Oasis out of Bayonne NJ in 2020

We had one cruise where on the last day the casino host told my wife she had 1193 points earned that trip. And that she could only get a $200 certificate. That she needed the 7 points to get to a $300 certificate. Most of the time if you are close they isue you the certificate. I was not pleased with the decision or the demeanor of the host but "you can't fight city hall". So I put $35 in a machine to earn the 7 points. We were played big $4 a spin. On the 3rd pull she hit for $200 and worked it up to $470 by the time she earned the 7 points. She played it down to $435 and cashed out. We then went over and got her $300 certificate and showed the host the ticket for the $435. And told her it was because of her we won the money. If she would have just allowed the 7 points. We wouldn't have gambled any more that cruise. And wouldn't have won the $400.

Just a quick refresher. Do you get crown and anchor points when using a free cruise certificate?
Yes you do.

LOL Straight from the CEO himself, even on video if that helps.:')
We heard it direct from M Baley too. He even allowed the waiver of the change fees if you already had that date booked.

I'm far from a cheerleader for Royal. But I'll bet that photo was taken when they started serving. If you have 75 people and 3 servers you are going to have to wait for your drinks. Somebody is going to be last. After the first onslaught it calms down a bit and the wait won't be so long.
We can go in either lounge but prefer the DL because of the people.

So how much did it cost you in casino losses?
It all depends on how lucky you are My wife rarely spends more than 3 or 4 hundred dollars on a cruise. But has earned as much as 1200 points during a 7 night cruise. It's calculated on how much you put through the machine not how much you put in it.
We are both Prime and receive free drinks in the casino and each get a free cruise for 2, up to 8 nights inside cabin. Holidays excluded.

Enough of the lets change things. The only thing Royal might do is toss the Diamonds out of the lounges. They are never going to make more space for a "non revenue" item. If you think it's to crowded don't go. Nobody is forcing you to be there.
Don't complain about it till Royal acts on it I was once a Diamond (700 points ago) and they deserve the same perks now that I did then.

Welcome to Prime.
Remember that you also get free drinks in the casino. You may have to get the host/hostess to put a prime sticker on you card.

I've been trying to figure out the vegas slots, vs the casino royale flyers, vs the earned casino royale certificates.
I've bee able to come up with the following.
You can not use any credits of any kind, if the sailing is considered a "group" booking.
You can not apply earned casino certificates, or casino flyers (cash off). if the sailing is paid in full and past final payment day. Even if you booked it 2 days ago.
I'm in the process of trying to get Royal to accept 2 ( one for me and one for my wife) $100 OBC rewards from Pop Slots. I think that they will honor them even though the final payment has been made, because they are OBC. I called casino royale and they told me I had to submit them via email. This sailing is for 01/27/19 and was booked 11/25/18. On the ship.
I'll check back when I get a definitive answer.

After reading through 5 pages . I can add a few things. The lounges are usually only crowded during the "OFF" seasons. Cheaper prices, less kids equal more high tier cruisers. It also seems like due to the high amount of upper tier cruisers from central Florida. The ships from Port Canaveral carry more UTC (upper tier cruisers).
Last July we sailed on the Harmony out of Ft Lauderdale , it was our first cruise as pinnacle members. We made the top 3 cruisers on the ship with our 703 points. Went from Harmony to Oasis (next day) and there were 24 pinnacles on the ship.
On both of these sailings the lounge was never even somewhat crowded.
We will be on the Oasis 6 more times before it does it's T/A. And fully expect the diamond lounge to be crowded, but we will make do. We can go to the Suite lounge, but like the company better in the DL.
-
You have to love the casino freebees. In July we parlayed an inside cabin on the Harmony to a Grand suite for a total of $700.
The wife and I have both made prime for next year. Hoping they keep it the same.
See you onboard.

Welcome to the Club. Most of the smaller ships do it up quite well. When we made it on the Rhapsody. We got to eat lunch with the officer in Chops. Got a great picture with the captain presenting the stratum (which they take back). But didn't get the internet upgrade or the crystal block. I don't like the way they do it on the Oasis class ships at the top of the stairs leading to the Aqua Theater.

About 8 months ago my wife had her concealed carry permit fall out of her wallet in our safe. We never even realized it was missing till we got a call from RCCL lost and found. The lady there was very nice and said we could get it returned (at a cost) or she would shred it for us. We opted to have it returned and went on line filled out the paperwork, and paid a few dollars. And had it back within a week.

We will be there Nov 24, 2018. We are using offsite parking, and their shuttle.
Having used this lot before. I can see them dropping us off before the one lane debacle. How far is it from the traffic bottleneck to the terminal? How far is it from the closest other terminal? I'm figuring on having to roll our suitcase from a dropoff point to and from the terminal.
-
Seems like early reservations are hard to get. We eat at 8 or 8:30 and have never had a problem. Even when calling in after 6 pm.
-
We tip $5 everytime we have dinner in the CK. Have tried to get the same waiter, but that doesn't always work so we tip nightly.
Stateroom attendant $40 or $50 (7 night) Concierge $10 or $20 ( we almost never use their services) Bar staff in the lounge $1 per drink, even if we order ice water.

My opinion is we usually go to the DL even though we can go to the CL or SL. In the DL all the people there cruise a lot. We have a lot more in common, and less kids.
-
We recently sailed on her and were very happy with the cruise. The only problem was the bed was super low and hard to get up from. Hoping that was room specific. As we just booked one on her for April 6, 2019

Watching this thread. We are supposed to board on Thursday. Right now it looks okay but things can change.
D+ kicked out of CONCIERGE Lounge while onboard

I can go into either on any Royal ship. But I prefer the company in the DL over the SL. Less kids, and everyone there has something in common (they cruise a lot).
As far as I'm concerned Royal can stick the suite guests anywhere they want. As long as I don't have to sit with them.
