  1. Hi All. We are thinking of doing a Bermuda cruise on the Grandeur in July.

We have never been there. Can we enjoy the Island (we will be docked for over 2 days)? Without spending a ton of money?

    Thanks

  2. We were in Cozumel last week. And it is okay.

As in any of these Islands. Don't stray away from the tourist spots.

The cruise ships bring a lot of revenue to the city. They aren't going to let petty thieves ruin the reputation.

As for after the ships leave it might be another story. We had to get off the Allure in St Thomas due to an illness and spend 3 days there. And you wouldn't want to walk around after dark. And it's a US protectorate.

  3. What a nightmare from the time we gat off interstate 95 till we drove out of the lot.

First they tell you to turn right at 22nd street. Well there is no street sign at all. If they told you to turn at the Ramada Inn it would be simpler.

Second we get there it is starting to rain hard. There is only a small tent for shelter. When the bus finally arrived the driver gets into the luggage trailer (nice and dry) and tells you to bring the luggage to him ( in the rain), then lift it onto the trailer for him. They fill the bus over capacity and 5 are left standing.

Then they take people for 2 different piers. And won't let you off the shuttle to make sure they don't have the wrong bags.

Then upon return. We call the number and get a recorded message to look for KSA tours, nothing about where this will be. After asking the cops at the pier. We find where to go and wait. 30 minutes. At the time I realize that when loading the luggage they want the parking lot in first. They leave the terminal, then go to another terminal to pick up more. Again 5 or 6 people standing. Then we go to the airport (several stops) 2 hotels. All to drop people off. Then 1 hour and 10 minutes after boarding the shuttle we get to the parking lot.

I have used Park N Go in the past with no problems.

We will never ever use premier parking again.

  4. If you hop on Monarch between now and April 1, you will have Kelly Goodrich as your piano man. Awsome! He does a tribute for about 45 minutes to someone - Buffet, Billy, Beatles, Elton then he moves on to everything else. Last week-end the schooner bar was full - like 6 people deep around the piano full. We had a great time.

Kelly Goodrich plays the Radiance till they stop the Alaska runs. Then He has been doing the Enchantment (formerly on the Monarch) during the winter.

He gave us a reason to do 4 nighters.

  5. We were on the same cruise. It was great. We were busy all the time. I didn't get to use my internet minutes till day 6. And we didn't get off the ship till St Marten.

The only things we didn't like were the last night comedy show in the Opus Theater. Amy told us it would be completely new material. And Kivi Rodgers was very good. But the second comic used the almost the same routine as in the comedy club wasting our time.

The other is when we disembarked in Ft Lauderdale. My mother in needed a wheelchair. The gestapo in the terminal (RCL employee) gave us a super hard time. Because I had to declarations forms for the three of us. My wife kept her maiden name so I filled out one for her and her mother. And filled one out for myself. We all live in the same address. The jerk gave us a hard time telling us only she (mother-in-law) could go through. And my wife and I would have to go to the back of the line. Leaving an 85 year old by herself. Finally after some arguing and a letter to Adam Goldstien threat (which we are going to do anyway). He let us go through.

But all in all the Oasis is in our top 3 ships.
