  1. Ha,I wish you were on our cruise from Southampton at Christmas, you sound lots of fun πŸ˜ƒ
  2. And I'm sure you look gorgeous, sorry, didn't mean fancy dress as in dressing as postman Pat lol I just meant the flapper dresses etc, I looked online and they were so expensive,so I just sit and admire those who choose to wear them ❣️
  3. I agree but if you want to do it,fine but I personally have never in my life been attracted to fancy dress nights in any way shape of form,it takes me about 3 weeks to pack my bags as it is πŸ˜‚
  4. Jeans can look smart sometimes but I too have never seen jeans on a formal night, I love seeing both men and women look nice and all spruced up,it's what makes Cunard special and a stand alone cruise line 😊
  5. Although the Cunard agents are super friendly they know literally nothing if you ask them anything specific and that's with the 3 ships sailing,so best of luck with any questions regarding Anne πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚
  6. This is such a hassle, umpteen times we tried and it kept saying it wasn't suitable,EVENTUALLY got ones that were accepted (looked like two escaped convicts) only to get to check in and the woman there said (whilst trying not to laugh at said pix) we'll need to do these again, apparently she said most need redoing,so why don't they just go back to the old way ...........walks away sighing lol
  7. I just love seeing everyone dressed up too, this is why we stick to Cunard, the majority do make the effort, the red and gold is on the Christmas & New Year cruise, doesn't seem to change much e.g The roaring 20s etc although I can't justify paying a fortune for a dress just for one night but it's lovely to see those who DO, happy cruising everyone x
  8. Clearly there is a place for these party ships but I have to say I find them very tacky but I'm an oldie lol we used to sail with P&O and loved oceana, even got engaged onboard Azura but sadly as each cruise passed we found more and more faults, the icing on the cake was a food fight in the restaurant (& I'm sure I actually saw some of that icing fly by me) the staff, sadly, don't know how to cope with this unruly behaviour,Since then,we have travelled with Cunard & there really is no comparison, especially in the suites, really hope QA keeps the tradition going ❣️
  9. Oh please do lol they're fabulous, I love singing along with them...... I say singing πŸ˜‚
  10. Thank you so much for your reply.I could find a list of entertainment but you literally had to go through every one to find when they were on,gave up. we don't go to the big shows but prefer the garden room but it seems Cula seem to play every year at Christmas and New Year, I know they're songs off by heart now 🀣
  11. Oh I'm getting sooooo excited,we're on QV for Christmas & New Year πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ great pix, thank you
  12. Even though I'm veggie,my OH isn't and he sometimes struggles as to what to choose, seems silly they put two veggie options on the main menu as there is a separate vegan/vegetarian menu which I'm always given, although after saying that,it's been the same menu for the last 4 years, off on the Christmas/New Year cruise and I know what I'll be having already πŸ˜‚
  13. That sounds good, been veggie for over 30 years and once tried scrambled tofu at a hotel,it was awful lol hopefully Cunard does it better
  14. Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if you can find out what the entertainment is on QV at this time? I mean the speakers and the bands in the garden room etc. Thank you in advance
  15. They sure do......and there's a gym onboard?? Lol πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
  16. Yes definitely, although when that propeller needed replacing it was REALLY rattling, I think some people asked to be moved but it didn't really bother us,the reason we LIKE the aft is because you can hear the propellers cutting through the water.......oh roll on next cruise πŸ˜†
  17. Ah ok,tbh it doesn't bother us,it was only a question about what do they do or name ships once QE & QV retire,we'd never change from Cunard now, simply because they have the best service in our humble opinion,I suppose when you have thousands of pairs of feet treading the carpets they're bound to become threadbare etc we like the aft of the ship and last time there was a lot of rumbling and rattling, corridors were very marked etc, just an observation x
  18. Mechanical issues, rattling quite severely last time we were onboard,on deck 5 aft the corridors are really scruffy, pieces falling off, scuffs etc,I know this is just cosmetic but our suite was very tired too, sofa needed replaced, balcony was super rusty, again,I realise, these things are to be expected but when you pay for a Queens grill........ please don't get me wrong,I'm not having a moan (honestly πŸ˜‚) time before last we had to go into dry dock because a propeller was broken, just wondered if this meant the ship was fatigued or is this just a normal replacement?
  19. I don't mean they're falling to bits or anything but definitely getting old, don't get me wrong,I'll never sail with anyone else now but what WILL happen when they have to retire them?
  20. What will Cunard do when their old ships need to retire? We mostly sail on QE & QV and they are both getting very tired.Booked on QA over Christmas & new year 2025,hopefully the WiFi will be better lol
  21. My hubby loves a Harvey Wallbanger,it's also not on the drinks menu but they gladly make it for him. Also a sidecar, anyone tried that? Deeeeelish
  22. We booked on wed 4th and thankfully grabbed the suite we wanted for Christmas and new year'25,we always just book online, seems much easier and quicker that way, rather than hold for an operator. Hope you all have wonderful cruises ❣️
  23. I'm GF AND vegetarian so a double whammy for me but the staff are amazing and I've never encountered any problems ☺️
  24. It's GOT to be a Singapore sling,or a cosmo....or a kir royale oh just anything for me lol
