  1. Thank you very much Jenhem, we certainly intend to. I am busy at the moment trying to decide on which restaurant in Cinque Terre that we will eat in - now that's a real problem ;)

p.s is that your doggy in the picture, he is just so adorably cute.

    Thanks! She's a good girl.

  2. Do it. Being able to drop off our bags right away was awesome. Another plus was priority debarkation. I didn't think I would want to get off the ship but when you are sitting there in a lounge with a ton of people for a couple hours you're very thankful for getting to leave first.

  3. Shouldn't everyone's beef be with Carnival, not the FTTF purchasers themselves? As for the trampling and people running past others to get on the ship, those are just rude individuals. They'd probably be like that even without FTTF.

I purchased FTTF for my first and only cruise strictly so I could drop my bags off in my room after boarding. I had a grand suite so I was already allowed priority boarding. We boarded after the wedding parties, and diamond and plats. Suites and FTTF boarded together. In my opinion, suite guests should have boarded before FTTF since those folks paid so much more for their rooms. But I really didn't care. I did not have a need to be on the ship first.

I totally understand why people would be upset but maybe the blame needs to be shifted a little?

There are rude FTTF as well as rude Diamond and Plats.

  4. I just got back from my very first cruise on the Carnival Paradise. We are booked on the Allure of the Seas in November.

I don't understand why the dress code is such a hot topic- I can wear shorts and a nice top and look very clean and polished. I wouldn't wear tank tops or basketball shorts in the MDR or any other nice restaurant either.

Is it specifically shorts that are offensive? Or people thinking the rules don't apply to them? Both?

My vacation would not be ruined if the person next to be on the Allure was wearing shorts. I honestly just don't get it.

  5. It's seriously not that smoky. The casino, yes at times. My balcony neighbors smoked and the bulk of it dissipated by the time it got to me so it didn't really bother me. I didn't encounter it anywhere else.

And I HATE smoke. No where you go is going to be 150% what you want. But don't let the smoke get in the way. It's seriously not even bad.

  6. Ok I am beyond obsessed- I don't need to log on during work since I have the CC app on my phone.... and yes I look at it all. Day. Long.

I just got back from my first cruise last weekend. I am so thankful for CC, it's where I got all of my cruising info. I had no idea cruising was so involved.

Round 2 will be the Allure Nov 9th! Just booked it last night.

  7. I was on the Paradise just after you. It was my first cruise. I agree with the majority of what you said.

The decor, oy vey. That was really my only complaint, which isn't really a complaint. I can look past it but I really hope it gets updated soon. It was a very clean, well managed ship despite being so outdated in my opinion. It deserves a little TLC.

The staff was superior. Everyone was so friendly.

  8. We have also been back a week and booked our next cruise last night!

I'm fresh off the Carnival Paradise which was our first cruise. The seas were calling, so we have booked a 7 day Eastern Caribbean on the Allure of the Seas in November. After that, I want to come back to Carnival and go to Grand Turk.

  9. She is beautiful! I used to board my dogs when I just had two. But then as the family grew the costs for boarding became insane. (I really am in the wrong business!!) At one place I paid extra for cable. I am a loser.

Haha, thanks! I can't even describe the guilt I had on my last cruise, we were gone on her birthday. She did get a nice new blanket from Mexico tho and my friend had a little celebration for her.

  10. While I was fortunate enough to have a friend house sit and watch my chi for my last cruise, I have a kennel I've boarded her at twice and feel 100% confident leaving her there. Instead of a tiny cage, I book her in a "townhouse" suite complete with a toddler bed and tv tuned into the animal planet. There's a lot more room for her which I like because she's not in a kennel at home when we are gone. I pay for extra one on one play time and she's let out about 4 times a day.

Don't get me wrong, I still cry when I drop her off. But I do feel better having her there. ImageUploadedByForums1399862654.042426.jpg.990a7021d408ee435495dd8ec588a347.jpg

  11. I have the same question, but I can't seem to get answer. What if your arrive after boarding has started, is it still worth it? It sounds like there is still a separate line. I've purchased FTTF, and am wondering if I should cancel it. There are no tender ports for my cruise. I'm sailing on the Valor. I do have a somewhat earlier flight (12:30) home. Any thoughts?

If you have an earlier flight home, don't cancel your FTTF. Once you get off the ship, you still have to collect your bash and wait in huge lines to get thru customs. It takes forever!

  12. I'm sorry, I wasn't done with my post lol. iPhones these days, right?

Anyway, the OP stated they wanted to be off the ship as late as possible due to not being early risers. Understood, but there are a couple thousand people literally waiting on you. They're just as excited to start their cruise as you were and can't until you'll get off. Same goes with staff. Everyone needs to be off so they can clean. You're waiting in common areas to debark. You won't be able to wait in your room because you have to be out by 8:30. So you may as well get up, get ready, and take advantage of the priority debarking. It's wall to wall people waiting to get off. I'm not an early riser either. I get home from work at 3 am. But I was thankful to be one of the ones to get off the ship first. You don't get to sit by the pool on debarkation day sipping a cocktail. It's crowded and uncomfortable.

When you check in you'll get to go to priority check in, where the diamonds and platinums check in. Your wait will depend on how many other diamonds there are on your cruise. 1 couple was ahead of us. The lines for regular check in were insane.

I have no ideas what check in will be like after boarding starts. It's a moot point really as you paid for priority boarding so you obviously won't be on the ship before everyone else.

Once they start boarding, they call for wedding parties first. Once they're on, they call for platinum and diamond. After that is suite guests and FTTF. We started boarding around 11:30 on my last cruise and I heard them talking about people lingering and not wanting to debark.

Once you board, you can go straight to your room and drop off your carry ons. That right there makes FTTF worth it for me. It's difficult to hold your carry on, cocktail, and buffet plate. I was so thankful to be able to drop my stuff off. Also, your luggage is prioritized so you can be all unpacked by dinner. That's also nice.

    I hope these answers help!

  13. I think it's subjective. For me it was totally worth it and I'll purchase every time without hesitation.

As far as boarding goes. I can't give a specific time when it starts because no one is getting on the ship until it's ready. It's not ready until all of the passengers from the previous cruise are off and common areas are clean.

  14. I also purchased FTTF for my first cruise. You'll want to get off the ship and be thankful for priority debarking, trust me. We had to be out of our room by 8:30 and just wait in this lounge which became very crowded. We didn't debark until about 10:30 and we were the first group to do so. They are wanting you to be off the ship as soon as possible so they can get her ready for the next crowd.
