  1. Congrats on the win! I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to lock in your profit. Those are some nice chips. As for the not-fully-clued-in player, it's a hazard of playing the game, I've found. Sometimes stuff like this annoys me too, though mostly I tune it out. In the long run, what the other players do have no effect on my winnings.
  2. I'm definitely not pining for the "good old days" of cruising with set dining 3 meals a day. Thankfully, most cruise lines had moved on from this by the time I started cruising. And while I do appreciate a high quality sit-down meal on occasion, a lot of the time I just want to eat some good food at my own pace while not having to worry too much about how I look.
  3. I remember you from the roll call! We were on the same cruise! Indeed it was lots of fun for (most) everyone.
  4. I was on the Millie in November. I have good news and bad news for you. The good news is that I had a great time on my cruise, what I saw of the entertainment was surprisingly good (the show Boogie Wonderland and soloist Kristina Wells), and I thought the food was excellent. The bad news is that the food situation on Celebrity seems to be in transition. Room service has, or will soon, increase to $12 per order (with some exceptions); there are reports of the dinner buffet having its selections cut; and some MDR menus have been simplified. I'm too lazy to link all the discussion threads here discussing these changes, but they're all over page 1 and 2 here. What I will link is my review of my cruise on the Millennium. Have fun!
  5. @CanadianBurger: Thank you for continuing to share! It looks like today will be another day that's jam packed with 80s goodness (though a bit less so than yesterday). The Knights of Rock lectures look especially interesting. Not your classic stuffy old enrichment to be sure!
  6. Thanks for sharing this. We had about half that number on our cruise on the Regal a bit over a year ago.
  7. The plot thickens. I note that "we haven't announced yet any cancellation" is subtly different than "we haven't cancelled". Please keep us posted.
  8. Following. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you had a smooth embarkation. As a CCL shareholder, I fear what this means, even though as a cruise guest I totally approve. It looks like this is even heavier on the 80s theme than my cruise late in '21. I like the 80s themed bands scattered all over. I wanted to book more than one of these 80s themed cruises, but this particular one had the worst conflict with work. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I liked Mr. Oscar, but I heard that the group on another recent Princess cruise gave him a rough time. I'm looking forward to hearing your comments about the Pat Benatar and Foreigner tributes.
  9. Finally! The UDC shows up as a Celebrity cruise on my app! Initial notes: My muster station is in the casino. Easy to find and convenient. The new room service charge shows up for me I can complete the initial check-in process. I'll take a closer look later. There's nothing on the schedule The excursions available for Key West look expensive. I've got a golden ticket to see KC & the Sunshine Band on that day; that looks like it's going to be my "excursion" for the day. A quick look at the excursions for Cozumel didn't turn up anything of interest. I've been to Cozumel several times in my cruising life with two more visits just this year. I'll figure something out.
  10. Hi guys. My charter cruise that's scheduled to sail in late February on the Summit finally connected to Celebrity and I'm able to look at it on my app. It does show the $9.95+18% room service charge for the plebs and Aqua Class. RS for Retreat guests remains free.
  11. A page or two back, some clever poster Frenchified the description of pork & beans. I've found that speaking in French goes a long way toward making things appear fancy/gourmet.
  12. Others have covered the lying-around-by-the-pool scene and the sit-on-your-balcony-and-watch-the-sea-go-by scene better than I could. Those aren't things I like to do, IMHO. I've done a couple of dozen cruises, so I guess I count as "seasoned". I prefer that to "sunbaked". Here's how I pass the sea days: The cruise lines have an impressive number of activities all over the ship, so be sure to check your daily newsletter. There's trivia, lectures, music, bingo, art auctions, and many other things. The casino will be open, so if that's your thing, head on down and partake Your cabin TV will have some VOD options - some free, some not free. There are worse things to do on a cruise than while away a few hours watching a movie, IMHO. I don't judge. This varies widely by line, so YMMV. I like bringing my own entertainment - books and videos are much easier to deal with when you don't have to download them on the road The old salts may wag their fingers, but you CAN buy Internet access on most ships and sometimes it DOES work well enough to stream entertainment things. If random surfing is your idea of entertainment, it'll almost certainly be good enough for that. If not, then you can entertain yourself by walking down to Guest Services (or whatever it's called), listening to their excuses, and getting a refund. 😁
  13. 4.6 star average review from 37k reviewers! They obviously didn't ask us! 😄
  14. On my last cruise on the Millie in November, my best guess is that the ratio was flipped - 800-ish crew, 1000-ish passengers. But it's only a guess as neither count was ever announced publicly (that I'm aware of) and I didn't ask anyone. Of the three Celebrity cruises I have taken since the restart, the passenger count was only publicly announced once. I never heard the crew total on any of them.
  15. Thanks for sharing. 1. For a long time after the restart, Princess was completely crew served in the buffet. This was true on my last cruise in April on the Majestic. I'm curious when they stopped and went to self-serve. 2. I THINK you mean that the comedians had the same act in each of their separate shows, but my alternative interpretation that the DIFFERENT comedians had the SAME material amused me. Yes, I'm 12. 🤣
  16. I think they like to reply by phone from LLP's office for whatever reason. I also prefer e-mail, so I hope you get what you want. Please keep us posted either way.
  17. Thanks for the perspective and the heads up on Julie. I'm pretty sure I haven't met her or been on one of her ships.
  18. It was slick the way they did it for us - end show, entertainers receive applause, quickly get off stage, and then comes the CD who introduced the Captain, who introduced the rest of the officers. I'm sure people left during this introduction, but it's almost as if it was part of the show. Here's a picture of part of how it worked:
  19. I'll discuss my experience on the Millennium in November. Our introduction to the Captain and the other top officers was done on the second night in the main theater after the production show.
  20. I was on the Millennium in November. Masks and vaccinations were not required. Answering your questions: 1. I saw a few staff wearing masks - maybe 10% overall 2. I estimate that 1-2% of passengers were wearing masks 3. We didn't have an outbreak
  21. My fear is that one of my favorite vloggers is going to try to "roll that beautiful bean footage". 🤮
  22. Thanks for sharing the extra details. My cruise on the Millie was 7 days.
  23. I don't disagree with you. The one consolation is that Starlink is coming to all Celebrity ships eventually - some already have it, with speeds far faster than I experienced.
  24. It varied a lot for me, but generally it was between 1 and 4 Mbps. Streaming actually worked for me when I tried it. But I didn't do too much of that. Email and random surfing was fine.
