  1. We liked the old Star Bar, and also like the new configuration. There is a choice of either couches and armchairs or table seating. It is now completely covered and they have added plexiglass along the sides to block some of the wind. One big advantage is that the stretch put the engines much further away and it is much more quiet.
  2. Somehow that inserted in the middle of my comments. I’m hesitant to change. They have opened the balcony on this cabin to reach around the cabin. There is a four person table, two lounge chairs and a small table. As many know, the exterior on the bow isn’t pleasant during weather when the ship is underway. We also experienced one or two events of people celebrating in the forward hot tub with some noise. None of this would prevent us from rebooking.
  3. We had a wonderful trip from Dublin to Edinburgh two weeks ago in room 600. Information on this suite was lacking, and even Windstar did not give correct info. So, I’ll say they have done an outstanding job on this room. The windows IMG_5782.MOV now provide a beautiful view and the balcony is lovely. We were on the Star Pride. I don’t know if the other two motor yachts are the same.
  4. We were in Heathrow last week, and had hoped to make a connection but our inbound flight was late, and we did not. People with over 3 hours were not making some connections. The airport was a complete disaster. We spent 3 1/2 hours standing in line to rebook. (Finally did it on an AA live chat while waiting in the rebooking line.) BA was not even answering calls or live chat, or all call were disconnecting despite staff’s suggestions that we call. And we did try to call, along with everyone else in line. The best we could get was a two days later departure, due to the decrease in capacity (about 10%) imposed right now at the airport. Then it was another 2 1/2 hours to collect luggage and head for a hotel near the airport. It sounds like you’ve already decided not to leave, and I think that’s the right decision. They are so short staffed, it could be much more than a couple hours to make a connection, especially if you are changing terminals or have to collect and rebook luggage.
  5. We are currently on Star Pride in Scotland. I’ve heard we are sailing with about 200 passengers.
  6. We will be testing that tomorrow, with three different cabins of people who have or are testing at different times. One will fall into 2 days, but not 48 hours
  7. We have been interested but not signed up for this yet. What sort of viewing place, if any, did they provide? Was it covered in the rain they had this year?
  8. We had a Master Suite and they put us at the East Hotel in Miami in April of this year. Maybe a 3 star. Won’t use their hotels again
  9. We are not traveling to Canada. We usually arrange tests through the concierge at our hotels when needed.
  10. We are traveling this July. Yesterday we received an email that Windstar will no longer provide free dockside Covid testing as of July 1. Passengers will either need to bring proof of antigen testing done 2 days before boarding or PCR test three days before boarding. They also noted that they will be following any local requirements for testing, so everyone should check on their particular destination.
  11. I wondered that as well. It’s a new category of suite so there haven’t been many guests stay in it yet. I do like the layout of those suites though. I hope you get an answer. I will say we have never had any noise issues on the three sisters. I do understand that those cabins are basically wrapped around the elevator.
  12. Thanks for all your posting- It is fun to relive our voyage. The time changes were brutal for us. We’ve done four other transatlantics, albeit on a slower ship so there were a couple more days to adjust overall. However, the biggest difference was when they change the time. We have previously experienced the changes done at noon. So much better! An hour in the afternoon is lost, but dinner and evening activities happen on the new time. It is much easier to get to sleep and then to get up in the morning.
  13. I no longer have a record of the ID for the excursion, sorry. It was described as a dressage horse show of Andalusian and Lippazaner horses. The name was “Horses and Flavors of Cartagena.” Maybe the best way to describe it would be if in America, a rodeo was offered but instead of that, guests received a line dancing demo while looking at horses in a field. Not just a little off, which we would have been fine with, but WAAAY off. I have emailed, and if I get a response will report it here.
  14. Yes - the additional plugs are European as Courtesfam said. We got a couple of nice ones from Amazon that will work in many countries as they cover four or five different types of plugs. You will not need converters - just adaptors.
  15. I have not traveled since the refit. I have been in your stateroom category several times with my CPAP. Our cabin attendant has taken the cord across the room and secured it very well to the floor with tape. We travel with a couple of converters so we can make use of all of the outlets.
  16. I'm going to put my review here, I don't seem to have a program on my computer to open the template. Splendor 966 MS Pudgesmom April/2022 Port Aft Sq ft - unknown 2 Bathrooms 1 bath w/separate shower/tub; 1 with shower Noise issues? No Recommend Yes Fantastic cabin. We loved having two bedrooms, baths and closets for the two of us. The enormous balcony was great; we could locate on either the side or rear to avoid any wind on our TA. Very small amount of noise from Chartreuse above, was not a bother. Balcony has 4 loungers with side tables, dining table for six, and seating area with sofa, two chairs and a coffee table. We moved the living room couch and console backwards about 3' to better enjoy tv and view from sliding doors. Recommend doing the included party on a night in port to enjoy the balcony. Piano is both self and player. Negatives: Living space has the world's most uncomfortable couch. Sat on lounge cushions on the floor for movie night with popcorn. And, lounge cushions stored in room blocking all sliders at night and during bad weather. Need outside storage for these.
  17. My reason for posting was to inquire where I could share my concerns about a shore excursion. I could not find any information on the website. I also wanted to share an experience.
  18. I guess you didn’t specify the meaning of “clients” or “spending millions.” A casual reader would read that as more than 2, specifically with the millions spent comment afterwards. I know you’ve had many great experiences. We’ve had only one. You “always” stay at the Four Seasons in Miami. We stayed at the East Hotel, where our room lacked any separation from bathroom and bedroom and is one of the most poorly rated expensive hotels in Miami. There are several other places where our experience was different from yours, long term cruisers and other posters here. I’m not going to profile them as we had many great moments in our cruise.
  19. We've recently returned from a TA on the Splendor. We only took a single excursion, for which we paid $89 apiece. It was described as a dressage performance of Andalusian and Lipizzaner horses, plus a snack and a taste of wine. Dressage, for those who aren't aware, is an advanced form of riding using precise movement and a beautiful partnership of horse and rider. I am a long term rider, and have several friends with imported Andalusian horses who ride dressage. I was extremely excited to see this performance with local horses at a nearby stable. This wasn't what we got. Two busloads of people were brought to the farm, where we viewed many mares and their babies. Then, much to our surprise, a flamenco dancer showed up. She was not described, and we have seen plenty of flamenco dancers. After she danced for several numbers., a man rode a young horse in a circle at a walk round and round this dancer. Definitely NOT dressage. We were then provided the small snack and sent home. We would never have taken this excursion to see a dancer and stand in a field with a bunch of horses. I do the second at home every day. I went to the shore excursion desk and voiced my concerns both about the description and the provided excursion bearing no resemblance to one another. They did have some horses and a snack... It was the second to last day of the cruise. The shore ex person took down my name and cabin number. I waited a day for a response, and having received none, planned to revisit the shore excursion desk on the last day. Sadly, I had a small medical issue and was unable to do that. Since that time, there has been zero follow-up from Regent. I guess its left a poor taste in my mouth, particularly since all of our information - names, past cruises (our first), loyalty nights -has disappeared from the website. In addition, I have since discovered that this stable hosts all of the cruise lines, and specifically describes the tour as a flamenco dancer plus mares and babies. I'm assuming that someone messed up the descriptions in the listing and none but me knew or cared what dressage is, or they were overwhelmed by very cute baby horses. Any suggestions on someone I can contact about this issue?
