  1. Ok so lets continue, after I got done with the reservations it was 12:51. I headed towards the park cafe to look for them, the place was a complete zoo. As I was trying to make my way into the cafe, when I saw my mom outside grabbing a table. We were lucky to get a table, a large amount of people were eating standing up.

So call it cliche, but I got the roast beef as did mom. We also got a fruit cup and the bf got a pork or turkey wrap. After eating chicken soup for the last 3 days I was ready to eat some real food.

The roast beef was very good, I enjoyed it very much. The bread was soft and the meat was tender, there bun had rock salt incrusted on the top. It also had some small black seed type things on it, I had them in the past but I could not figure out what they were. In any case I was not crazy about them, in my opinion they affected the overall taste of the sandwich negatively. Maybe someone else can say what they are?

Bf did not care much for the wrap, he said it was bland. I tried it and I thought it was loaded with flavor. The thing is that he likes his food with tons of hot sauce. I told him to bring his own, since the ship tends to carry one tabasco and he claims that is not real hot sauce. I am the total opposite, I never put hot sauce on anything, don't care for it.

It is funny that I mention that people were eating standing up and I just noticed that empty table to the right, go figure :p

We were on the October 28, 2012 sailing. My DW & I ate lunch in the Park Cafe 6 out of the 7 days. We both enjoyed the roast beef sandwich. One day I ate 3 of them. We also love the rolls they were served on.

  2. Back on the ship we had lunch at the Park Café. I had a salad with shrimp, mozzarella and caesar dressing (courtesy of the lovely Chrystal) Lowry just had everything in his.

Here we both discovered something we ate many times later on the cruise.

I loved the white choc chip cookies and Lowry (all on his own, mind) met the mother of all sandwiches, (insert drrrrrrrrrrrrrums...ta-da!) Roast Beef. He had at least one a day after the first one.

I am not going to reveal how many cookies I had. Uh no.

Sinny we ate lunch there when we boarded. I was having 3 of those sandwiches a day, I skipped the cookies.

  3. I forgot to mention...

Nobody missed the ship yesterday but there were two last minute runners who just made it.

The Captain blew the horn at 4:30 but by then, there were just a few still walking back to the ship.

The crew had already pulled in the bow ramp and we were about ready to cast off when the last two showed up at the shore and were running at full speed along the pier.

The Captain was kind enough to wait a few extra moments for them and as soon as they ran up the ramp we were on our way.

    Thanks for you posts trainman.

I always love to watch the runner trying to make it back to the ship. We were leaving Key West one time and had runners that didn't make it and just threw their arms up in the air.
