  1. They're a bit annoying to redeem and you can only use them for specific things. My brother got one for my husband and we could not use it in cruise planner for booking excursions or drink packages. We were told we could have used it towards the cost of paying off the cruise, but we had already paid in full at that point. We had to wait and use it as OBC (and you have to redeem it at least 10 days prior to your cruise or you can't use it on board, allegedly).

Mine had no listed expiration date that I can recall. We used it about 8 months after we got it.

That's good to know. Thanks! When I hear gift certificate, I think expiration date as opposed to a gift card.

  2. I really like the different opinions and I'm glad everyone is honest with how they feel about it.

The honest opinions will help us weigh it out one way or another. I just didn't want to be glamoured into the hype the card says and then find it isn't anything worth while in achieving.

BUT knowing others have achieved free cruises while some only think it's good for OBC does help me question how much we would actually use it and if it'd be worth having.

So thank you all again! This is a HUGE help!

  3. One other thing about the card. If you have OBC left at the end of the cruise, RCCI will refund the balance in cash at Customer Service Desk the last night of the cruise or credit it back to the CC after the cruise. So if you don't spend all of the OBC, you get it back. Pretty good deal, I would say.

That is really good to know!

  4. Thanks all!

We would use it and pay it off right away to avoid interest. But it is good to know about the OBC and discounts.

I know some credit cards suck you in with certain things and then make it completely unattainable. That is why I wanted to check.

It'd be nice to use it to book our cruises and then earn points towards OBC. So I figured I'd ask the experts :D

  5. Alright, out of curiosity...

Does anyone have the cc? If so, do you like it and is it worth it?

The husband and I were debating getting it for an upcoming cruise, but I want to know if it is even worth the time.

  6. Kayla, I had an issue on our network at one point where we couldn't get a particular browser to work. The only thing that worked was to take down our network. Once we brought the network back up, problem was solved. If you are on a home network, it might be worth a shot. Really just a shot in the dark, but might be worth it, if you have access to the network.

Thank you! I will have to give that a shot tonight!

  7. Yes - exactly. I have to call to find out simple pricing and planning info. That's a slow and annoying way to do it - so I have been less interested in trying.

Same! I've thought about going through a TA or another travel website, but I've always just booked directly on Royal's website.

  8. You are not alone! I have had this exact problem for weeks. I have tried all of the fixes that were suggested above - but to no avail. Same problem regardless of which computer I use (I've tried Mac, PC, tablet, etc). Super annoying.

It is awful, isn't it?! I just want to look at pricing and such so we can decide what we want to do stateroom wise, but I can't even get that far.

  9. Good choice. We're going on our 9th Annual Family Weekend Cruise in four days on Enchantment, even though we live in Orlando. It's a no-brainer for us. I think the difference in ships is well worth the longer drive to Miami.

We have to fly either way, but it is nice to get a consensus on which would be better to take his parents on their first cruise.
