  1. Imo. Its the crew that makes the ship. Enchantment crew is now with Majesty. Did I complicate it again??

Man, that does make it complicated.

I think I'm going to go with Enchantment only because my husband LOVES Chops Grille, and he is partial to the solarium. So I think he made the decision before he even asked me to look into it.

  2. My wife and I spent our honeymoon back in August of 2009 on the Enchantment and loved it. It was our 1st time cruising with RCI and since then we have cruised RCI 3 more times, including taking our 2 year old daughter on her 1st cruise on the Navigator this past March. So my vote is Enchantment[emoji3]

Enchantment was our honeymoon too! :p

    Thanks for the input :)

  3. Booked on Navigator of the Seas for the Nov. 6, 2017 sailing from Southampton. So enjoyed our 1st TA cruise on this ship that we booked another. Would like to spend at least a week before the cruise in England seeing some places (e.g. Windsor, Stonehenge, etc.). Any suggestions on things to do and places to stay?

Oxford is stunning! I highly suggest going, even for just a day trip. There is a lot of history there and the town itself is beautiful.

Tower of London is something really cool to see in London. I was fascinated by it, and the crown jewels are kept there, which is really neat!

  4. Enchantment. No doubt. More venues and it has the Solarium pool for adults to rest and relax. Majesty's only pool has been cut in half for children. Enchantment has specialty restaurant Chops. Just my opinion regarding the ships as the itinerary is the same I believe.

I had some of those thoughts too. I thought Majesty may not be what my husband would want since he LOVED Chops. Thanks for the opinion :)

  5. Hi all,

My husband and I are debating taking his parents for their first cruise in 2017. I've been on both Majesty and Enchantment, and he has only been on Enchantment. They both have the same itinerary, with similar date ranges.

My question is this; what would be better for their first cruise? My first cruise was on Majesty in 2007 and I loved it. The things on board are a bit hazy since it's been nine years. But we went on Enchantment in 2014 and loved every second. We were never bored.

    Any thoughts and opinions?

My thing is we want to do a shorter cruise as their first time, since we don't know if they will like it, and we don't want to overwhelm them with one of the larger and newer ships. Any help would be great! :)

  6. On sea days, we avoided the Windjammer and we used the pools early in the morning. However, it did not feel more crowded than other ships. It depends on your priorities. If you want a lounger by the pool for the day, get there by about 9 a.m. (probably earlier during peak summer sailings). Otherwise, there was plenty of public space that was not crowded at all, such as the Pub, Schooner Bar, aft area, Boardwalk, library, etc. Of all the ships we have been on, Oasis and Allure are our favorites, and I used to be a nay sayer for large cruise ships :D

Thanks! You may have sold me on it. That was my biggest worry about the bigger ships.

  7. I'm looking at Enchantment of the Seas for July 4th. When I try to select a balcony room for Me & the wife it says that Balcony rooms are not available for 2 guest. I called them about it. They confirmed that there are balconies still available but not for only 2 guest. I'm told to call back tomorrow when the "REVENUE" dept is open. Then I try on line to see if I could get one for 3 people... and No problem at all. How often does this happen? I never sailed RCI before. I don't have a long cruise history, just 3 on Celebrity, 1 on NCL & 1 on Princess.

I've never heard about RCI requiring 3 people in a balcony, but it also may be the time of the year. We took Enchantment two years ago and it was just my husband and I.

My only thought is, because of the 4th of July holiday they may not allow only 2 in rooms that are capable to hold 3 or more due to popularity. But again, that is just a guess. I really hope you get a balcony for just 2. Good luck!

  8. Hey everyone! I'm reporting in live from Miami. I flew down a day early to enjoy me some of Miami before boarding the wonderful Empress of the Seas! I plan on doing a full pictorial review of the ship and hope my pictures and insights can help those on the fence with the Empress to decide or to give those who are going to be on it wood a good look at the "brand new old ship!" :)

Once I figure out how to upload pictures, I'll have the first sightings up...

Can't wait to hear all about your trip! :)
