My daughter went on multiple Celebrity cruises, but they only worked during school breaks. Not enough children otherwise and the programs get watered down.

I don't much care for RC. However, my kids really enjoyed Princess, when they were young.

My kids also love princess. We are doing 28 day South Pacific next year on princess. They are super excited! We have both celebrity transpacific and princess South Pacific next year.

  2. I'm taking my 5 year old on a transpacific cruise next year and I know he will have a blast. As long as there is a kids club he will be fine. I have never been in celebrity so it will be a first for all of us. My son likes Royal, Princess, carnival, and MSC. I'm sure it all cones down to what your child will or won't like.

  3. On the Elation now and would not sail this ship again. I think I have been spoiled by the larger class ships. Glad I am doing this cruise because I now know that I cannot sail on this class ship again. My children definitely agree. We like the mid to large range ships because there is much more to do and the cabins are nicer and more spacious. Happy sailing to everyone coming onboard!

As the original poster, I certainly don't mind paying well earned gratuities for the third person, but was only  interested in when the change took place. I think a previous poster noted that for bookings made after 12/09/2020 the rules changed and I appreciated his/her comments. I just wondered why my invoice went from payments for the first two, to payments for all three.

And it is nice to find that the AI benefits now covers not just two, but all three in the cabin.

Glad I could actually answer your question. The rest of it is noise (full of opinions) instead of actually answering your question. Typical!

I'm on that cruise as well. We have lifted and shifted that one so many times (4) I almost forget we are going!

It's a graduation gift for my son. We are staying in Japan for 30 days afterward to explore and travel throughout. We will be home for a week before we go on another 28 day cruise to Hawaii and French Polynesia. Then another 10 day after that one. Going to be gone for a third of the year next year 😂😂😂. Hopefully nothing gets cancelled! 😣

I understand your reply’s intent. But, it begs the question “What difference does a ‘state line’ matter?”

Actually it does not. I drive to Florida ports because they are close to me. None of them are over 4.5 hours from me. Other states are further from me. Now you know! And knowing is half the battle 😉.

  7. I live 4.5 hours away from the Port of Miami and my last cruise I just got up early the morning of and drove. Got there early and made it to the ship in no time. It's really up to you and what you are comfortable with. I always drive in the morning of to any cruise port in Florida that I am leaving out of. When leaving from another state, I fly in the day before.

You may have got lucky and booked when they had some sort of IT glitch, maybe that is an upcoming promotion for Black Friday and they accidentally turned it on early and then turned it off again?

The RCLCARES  line item is interesting though, as that is only for Travel Agents to input on bookings. Are you a TA also?

I guess I should watch it through Black Friday to see if maybe there is something upcoming. I though it was strange but I'm glad I was able to get it.

I don’t see anything special in the system. Did you by chance book an Indulge or Elevate package which would give you OBC?

No. That is why I was confused.

The first attachment is of the booking from before.  The second is from my rebooking today. Don't know what the CRUISE Event is! I'm happy but I did not see any type of advertisement for it. I just happen to check pricing daily by doing mock booking and this happened.

  10. I did a mock booking of my cruise last night and nothing had changed. I did a mock booking today and nothing essentially changed except that I got a cruise event price with OBC (same price just with OBC now). So I cancelled my original booking which had no OBC and booked the "cruise event" rate with $200 OBC. There is no sale advertised that was different from the day before nor is there any sale besides the 50% off second guest sale. So, is there a secret sale going on?

  11. I am just like you. I take my kids everywhere I go. They are so well versed in travel and more empathetic to different cultures. My children love to travel and would not give it up for anyone. I

would never leave them home in order to travel. They go wherever I go! They love land based as well as cruising. We do both frequently and are booked for lots of travel next year. My 4 year old will be 5 in January so I am relieved that he can travel without the exclusion ( getting him vaxxed). Covid has been a nightmare for us since we travel/vacation at minimum 3 times per year. Next year we will be gone most of the year. I love when parents take their children on adventures to see the world 😍🥰.

  12. Royal Caribbean does not have bubble tours. Carnival does and it is very strict to keep you in the bubble. I have excursions booked through the ship for our upcoming cruise and in the fine print it does not in any way say you have to stay in a bubble. The unvaccinated rules only state that you have to take a Royal Caribbean tour in order to disembark. If you can highlight from their fine print or their website where it says anything contrary, please post it so I can get clarification from Royal before our cruise. Thank you!

We don't care what people do with their money.  We care when they use the crew's income as a social statement

The crew signed a contract with their income written in it. They agreed to that amount. Gratuities are what you pay for service that goes above and beyond expectations. Maybe they did not get the service so they did not want to pay for mediocrity. Only a person that had the experience knows their experience and what they are willing to "tip" based upon that service. Everyone automatically assumes that people have the exact same "great service" they had. Anyway, it is what it is. I think people have a right to do whatever they want with "their" money. Salaries still get paid based upon the contract whether one person chooses to tip or not. If they don't want people to remove them, they should be like NCL and build it into the cost of the cruise. Their gratuities are mandatory.
