  1. I am anxiously waiting for this first cruise to be over so someone will post a review on the upgrades, lol. Wondering if they stopped people from smoking by the pool bar now that it will be receiving a lot more traffic as a food venue. Also hope that Mama Maria is still in the YTD room. She is my favorite. I know Jay Jay is on another ship now, so really hoping the Entertainment director is good. Jay Jay and Mama Maria made our last cruise on Fascination.

I'm anxious to hear how the first sailing is as well! We sail on 3/18 and we are so ready!

  2. Hello fellow cruisers!

We will be sailing from San Juan next month on Fascination and have only sailed from Canaveral and Miami, so flying into a port is a first for us (we live in south FL) My question is, since we are flying in early that morning (arriving at 9am), can we give our luggage to the porters early, like around 10-10:30? The earliest check in time is 12pm from what I see on the Carnival site, but can we at least drop our luggage off and then tour the island until we board later?

Any input is greatly appreciated :D

  3. We were on Victory the week it came out of dry dock, it was terrible, missing railings, crime scene taping off doorways and decks that could not be used, very dirty, stained and dried food on pool chairs and cushions in adult areas, our cabin was next to one they were still renovating so we were not able to use it during the day and each night prior to us being able to use it they had to run an ozone generator to remove the acetone smell coming from the cabin next door. No hot water in our shower for most of the cruise but our toilet did have hot water, guess something was hooked up incorrectly. We cruise for 4 weeks every year, this is by far the worst experience we have had cruising. We were offered an OBC and did receive a phone call when we got home offering us 15% off another cruise, I think we will try another cruise line next time. Hoping they got these issues sorted out so you have a wonderful time.

We didn’t have hot water the entire cruise either. Don’t know how I forgot that cuz I was so annoyed by it. I didn’t notice the tape or blocked decks tho.

  4. We were there from 12/28-1/2 for our New Years cruise and it was beautiful outside! Nice cool breeze but the sun was out. I didn't do anything in the water because I already knew it would be too cold for me. Like others who have replied, I'm from and live in south Florida so any water temps under 75 is cold to me lol

  5. The Jamaican wings at the Red Frog on deck 5 is $3.33 vs getting it for $6 @ the sports bar and room service.

The Red Frog has an awesome $3.33 menu.

My favorite were the wings, conch salad and conch fritters. $3.33

There is a salad creation bar next to the serenity area, check the times, not open everyday.

Craft time in the library at 9am.,

Go before 9am, people will grab them quick.

You are awesome! Thanks for the tips!

  6. We ordered last week on Victory. Hubby ordered the wings (always good) and I ordered the Hawaiian pizza which was very good! We also ordered the fries which were delicious. I also ordered by myself one night and ordered the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato which was not that great. The cheese wasn't melted at all so I just ate the bacon and tomatoes lol Overall we thought it was definitely worth the small price and quick service.

  7. Do you know if the cabin changes on Deck 9 forward have been completed?

In June I booked cabin 9202 for a Feb 23-26th full ship charter sailing based on the old deck plan. It appears that there were dramatic changes to the floorplan on that deck in particular. Neither Carnival nor the charter company have contacted us at all about the cruise which is now only 3 weeks away...

We sailed last week and were in cabin 9223 and the cabins were upgraded and beautiful! They were still working on cabins that were just forward of us though but maybe they'll have them completed by your sailing.

  8. At the front of the Lido Deck (9), taking the place of the cabins that were there as well as the observation deck that was in front of those cabins.

We actually stayed in one of them unknowingly and loved the new decor. Fresh and clean looking. They are still working on a portion of our hall just forward of us too but we never heard any noise.

  9. I completely forgot to take pics of the new areas! I didn’t have my phone on me much but wish I did as I thought the walkway near Guys as well as the taco place was way too narrow. When the lines were long, it was really tough to get thru those areas because of the beautiful seating areas they added. Literally only 1 person could fit thru at a time going one way whenever there were lines. But still glad they added them. The sushi place was like a stand right near the casino bar which was an odd place to put it but still tasted good lol the upgraded rooms and halls were beautiful and fresh. Loves them!

  10. I took time to write this post on CC to warn others- based on OUR experience. There were many seated beside us with similar issues holding up their boarding- and if my posting helps even one person... it served its purpose.

But I wish I had not bothered and could remove my posts! It is not worth the condemnation.

Please don't let people make you feel bad for posting this. I am positive that this post will definitely help someone, especially new cruisers so THANK YOU for posting your experience and I'm so happy you all made it aboard safely and have a great cruise :D
