  1. We love the Caribbean Princess. The propulsion problems are not an issue. Order your Medallion ahead of time and download the app.  We were on the CB in December and cruising on her on in Feb. Check out Cruise Critic Port Boards on the ports. We like Turks and Caicos - relaxing. Our first time in Amber Cove is in Feb. We do private tours - check the CC port out for info.

    Happy cruising....

Sitting in the elite lounge waiting to board the Regal!!  No medallion in hand yet as princess screwed up by medaling it from Singapore and then pulled it back once it got to Hong Kong. They have said they will be delivered to our stateroom. Let’s hope the card opens the cabin!

Weather is perfect today for sail away. Sunny and 80!

Can’t wait to be back on board.

April is our first time on the Regal. I am assuming the Elite lounge is for Elite passengers. Will you please share more details about the lounge?

    Thanks.

  3. You will enjoy being in a suite and cruising on Princess.

You will receive a comp mini bar. You may exchange for items - even water. Not sure what ship you are on - breakfast is available in a select dining room, don't miss the comp speciality dining on the first night. Make sure you make your reservation when you get on aboard. Read up on the perks and if you have concerns check the post on CC or ask a question.

  4. We do Z Check. Your luggage is sent directly to the airport - you walk off and go. Cost is $25 person and since we have status with Delta no baggage fee. Boarding passes are delivered to your cabin the night before.

You may have to ask at the Passenger Service Desk for the form.

    Have a great cruise.

  5. We have booked a V I P casino cruise. Not sure what to expect. Will the casino contact us prior to the cruise or do we just check in with the casino when we are on board? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

  6. Just to let you know the lanyard has a section you may clip off. See picture in Lucky TGO post. On our December cruise on the CB, we simply clipped off the small section and attached another clip. My husband was  able to attach to a pant belt loop and I attached mine to the  bag I carry.

  7. I preorder the 5 for 4 bucket for my hubby. There will be a voucher in the cabin. I call as soon as we enter the cabin. It usually shows up by the time we are unpacked.  We are not in a suite. As stated you can always go to the pool bar when you get there.

Great conversation around this.  With Carnival Corp being the "corporate parent" of Princess, Carnival, Holland America, Costa and others, they have a desired target market for each of their lines.  But they do position Princess as an "aspirational" brand, looking for customers to move up from Carnival and other lower cost lines.  While their ships do not have the high tech and family features that some of the newer ships have, I believe their intent in advertising to younger demographics is to get them to move up in cost with a higher perceived luxury trip.  Reading their annual report to  shareholders is a great way to identify what they are trying to accomplish and where they are having success.  It all comes down to revenue yield per passenger.

    Sellstar-

Thanks for your post.  I have a better insight on what Princess is doing.   We enjoy cruising on Princess. All the feedback has been informative. We are off to a Princess cruise this month.

    Happy Holidays!

  9. We enjoy cruising on Princess. The company seems to be trying to focus on younger folks but they may be turning off their "core" customer. Younger folks are going to lines with techie stuff, zip lines, race tracks and water slides. Sometime we ask ourselves - "Why not focus on your customer base?"  We have been cruising Princess since 1985 when we were in our 30's and have been hooked on cruising since then. We go on cruises for the R&R and to get away from all the "techie" stuff. We are going on our "Ocean Medallion" cruise next week. We are prepared and know the "techie stuff" but hope that it does not take away the reason we cruise.

Well we have 3 sailings booked with the  3  for Free  sale . Wondering if we can do better with the cyber sale?

We talked to are Princess Vacation Planner. The 3 for 3 are not included in the cyber sale. So we booked our New England/Canada Sept cruise. Special promotion included a deposit of $100 each which is refundable. And the New England/Canada cruises are not included in any of the cyber sales.

I wonder what they will do for Veterans, sailing this December, who already have pre-paid gratuities due to having booked under a deal that included gratuities?

I also reached out to Princess. They are honoring cruise booked in December. We too have pre paid gratuities. If you hear of them offering something let me know. It is great Princess appreciates Veterans.

Totally agree with you.  There's some good 14 day cruises but that's just way too long to be gone from work.  Wish they'd mix up the 7 day itineraries.

We are doing the Feb 9 cruise. Princess has mixed up the 7 day itinerary. Going to a few different ports.

Try the Northern Lights cruise to Alta, Norway. It's new to Princess this year and I believe they are offering this cruise in the future.

I too have been looking at  another line. We are interested in Iceland and Greenland. Celebrity has some great cruises out of Ireland. Also, back 20+ years ago Princess had an amazing cruise out of Hawaii. It cruised the islands then headed to Bora Bora. Wish Princess would bring this one back. Cruising 5 days to Hawaii and 5 days back doesn't appeal to us.

Just as an FYI - Hilton Honors point redemption program for cruises ends today, you can still earn points for cruises booked through them.  The Hilton Grand Vacation redemption program for cruises remains unchanged.

With Marriott your points are converted by the agency to e-certificates with $ off amounts corresponding to the amount of points you are redeeming, regardless of cruise line or room type.  You may mix and match e-certificate denominations.  You still will receive any and all pricing/promotions available from the cruise line itself, and the agency that handles the points redemption may have contracted rates on certain sailings/dates/room types as well.  Only you can decide if the point value for the $ off is worth using them towards a cruise vs a hotel/resort.

Thanks for the info and update on Hilton.

  15. Thanks for following up. According to both Hilton and Marriott I must use their travel company (Mr Cruise Only) and could not use my regular TA. When I started asking questions about the points - they stated I had to use the points when I booked not at final payment time. I asked what if I cancelled the cruise and they were vague on how I would get the points back. Any advise?

    I appreciate your feedback.

THANK YOU for this. I see my preferred tipple of Crème de Menthe included. My booked exchange rate is USD$100 = AUD$130, and I'm working on the AUD$16 Cocktail price budget-wise when I indulge in February 2020 aboard the Ruby Princess. I have a money box that regular receives small coins cleared out of my purse, the result will go toward purchasing On Board Credit as I can't get the Premium Beverage Package on a 3-night cruise in Australia.

Thanks for posting! If you have time please post wine list by bottle. Many thanks.
