DW and I will be sailing on the Fascination
still have the old rock and Chisel system...no really,...
rock and Chisel..lol :D

Fair enough. But my BF doesn't drink at all. So, while I think it would be a wash between breaking even or being slightly ahead on the drink pCkage for me. It def won't be if you factor in the drink package for him. I understand carnivals reasoning, but people that are going to share will share. Even if it's having 2 rooms and 1 rooms gets it everyone or mom that gets the soda package for one and everyone drinks off it. Carnival could get $50 extra per day from me w the drink package and instead gets $50 for the week cause I will mostly drink in port and buy very few of their overpriced drinks a la carte. Or worse, they are losing my cruise fare to NCL and celebrity now since they include the drink package in your booking.

Short and to the point.
Cruising in Feb...Southern Cruise
8th cruise experienced
know about in-room bottles for purchase..
know about Drink Pkg. for purchase..
my problem..
Cruising w DW, Autistic 22yr old Daughter, and 76yr old MIL
All who medically cannot drink.
in order for me to purchase the "drink pkg"
ALL must purchase it....
not happening..
called Carnival....you know the answer...
so, I will stock up on 4pks in the room I guess.
Glad Carnival is SLOWLY coming around..but...
What do my fellow cruisers think..
would you purchase the DP if it was made available..still only getting 15 max drinks....
and on port days, your not drinking 15..( I hope) :D
I end up drinking less..
They say Carnival Monitors these sites....
-
I'm sailing w my DW, 22yr old autistic daughter, and my 76yr old MIL.
none of who can medically drink. I can provide proof, but still have to pay for all, w a drink plan...never happen..so what actually happens is I drink at least half of what I would normally consume.. Carnival loses money in the end...
my only complaint..
-
can you still purchase booze, right before you go through security, then walk right on w it? this is the only port I have seen this..saves so much $ :D
-

DW and I are Cruising out Feb 19th. very familiar w this run, but have one question. can we still purchase liquer right before we board the ship. This is the only boarding port where we can do this.. amazing.

Thank you all!
as always, this site and all on it, have always been a great help,
and provided first hand answers to all my questions.
A couple of yrs back, my DW decided she was jumping from the cliffs at Rick's Cafe in Jamaica. She did it... but woman who jumped in right before her, hit the water sideways... "SLAP"..was down 3 seconds.. when she came up.. she was black and purple (not blue!) from head to toe on her one side..I was called a chicken..(former Marine)... NO.. I'm a realist..lol..had 3 days left on cruise... and i was not gonna screw them up...my story and sticking to it!! lol (it is 60+ ft!) :D

Our cruising buddies are wanting the Feb 12, but DS bday is the 15th and he isn't going to be happy getting left at home and not cruising, much less mom and dad being gone on his bday. So I am looking at the 19th!
That's awesome that you have been 3 times, let's me know its a GOOD one!
would love to have you on our cruise!! if you do decide on that date/cruise
join the Roll Call. :D

Ok...everyone cross y'alls fingers. I now NEED to go on this itinerary!!!
I mean our 20th wedding anniversary is this summer...so...it would be a good thing to go on an amazing trip...no kids...mmmmhmmm...I've got a lot of convincing to do! ;)
this is what you can tell someone is in store for you..
3 of the top 10 best rated beach's, @ St. Thomas/St. Marteen
DW and I have toured/snorkeled/parasailed, etc. at both. These are truly FUN islands, and why this will be our zillionth time back!
Snorkeling w turtles and above shipwrecks, off of a catamaran in crystal clear water, in Barbados.
If you can handle it, climbing the Gros Piton and Petit Piton Mountains in St. Lucia. The view is insane!.
St Kitts is a nice small quiet Island. Very nice people, and a good place to sit and rest on the beach, and recharge.
costs on all the islands (excursions/food/trinkets) are very cheap, and will not disappoint. oh yeah..LOTS of rum...warning you now..lol:D

Hello all.. quick question. not happy w the travel insurance being offered through Carnival for our cruise.($79pp) I know I have read on here in the past, there is a company that offers better coverage. I will be booking airline tickets through travelocity, which does have a great policy.. so covered there.. looking for better protection on board. tks

Looking at a Feb 2017 cruise out of San Juan on the Fascination. Very port heavy includes:
St Thomas, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts and St Maarten
Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.
After our latest experience on the Dream, a review I am in the process of writing, I need a positive experience to keep my husband cruising.
Dw and I have done this cruise 3 times. love it!
We have booked for the Feb.19th cruise. when are you going?
I have contacts in all the islands on this run.
so planning will be sooo easy this time. lol
started a roll call for it :D
-
When I looked at their site, I find 50 per person for 4 or more. Earlier I looked into Tangerine Tours and what ppl were quoting on price were different than the website. Do they negotiate or haggle??

If you contact them, they will work w you. I have used Rose three times.. tell her Chris Smith from on here sent you, also, I have talked to fellow cruisers on my roll call, and was able to get groups together, to bring down the cost for all when I have cruised there!
most people have no idea what there is to do on St. Kitts. Rose knows everyone, and where to go. good luck!:D

What I would highly suggest, is start w the posts for that Island, instead of looking here. much more detailed insight. and can talk w people who are there, or just returned for the latest info. I do this when ever I go somewhere new. Has always been helpful. ask questions! good luck :D
