  1. If you really want to do a day trip to Key West, do this.

Leave Fort Laud. around 5AM, take the Florida Turnpike all the way to US 1.

You will hit the keys just after sunrise, and miss most of the traffic.

Its about 100 miles from Florida City to key west.

This is where it gets really slow, some speed limits are as low as 35mph

    through the Key Deer area.

You should arrive in Key West around 9 without too many stops.

Entering Key West there should be an IHOP or a Dennys for breakfast.

Leaving any later will involve you in the weekend traffic on the overseas highway, or rush hour in the Miami area.

This will give you a full day to explore the tiny island.

Park and walk until the sunset freak show at Mallory Square Pier.

  2. Me thinks lost and found on NCL is whatever it is, it goes immediately into the round file.

Case in point, I left a boot in my cabin, then left the ship after docking in Miami.

I never heard from the boot again, even with daily calls to the cruise line for two weeks.

  3. Carnival has given up trying to be a top tier cruise line.

Now CCL is any one, any where, any time.

    That works well for some.

My last CCL cruise, I wore my tux, the rest of my guys were in the same or suits.

We were in the minority, this is CCL's choice to set the bar at that level.

    That was 2012.

Want to look awesome with me and my crew join us on the Solstice 12-4-16.

    Don't let the haters hate.

  4. Its 1hour 45 minutes from MIA to the West Palm beach station.

Trains run every hour on weekends.

To drive it takes 90 minutes and up, depending on accidents, rain, time of day,

day of the week If school is in session etc.....

Drivers in So. Fl. are the worst, most shouldn't have a license.

Because the day before they were walking a goat path.

If you are doing a one way rental, take into consideration the amount of time to pick up, with associated paper work and drop off with the same mess.

    Good luck.
