Well, that statement coupled with keeping the Windjammer closed for dinner doesn't make much sense to me.

I still suspect the issue is lack of demand.

We tried to stay on The Allure of the Seas for an additional week and thought we were going to be able to since there were only 1600 on our 8/22 sailing. However we were wrong. They even called the Miami office and were told all rooms available were full for the 8/29 sailing.  The cruise line has limited the number they are allowing to sail.

  2.  I am a TA and I also have a personal sailing on October 31. When I went into Cruising Power to check on my E-Docs, they are still not available. I asked my Strategic Account Manager about this and she said that is not unusual right now. Look closer to 30 days out.

Does the cocktail hour(s) still exist in the lounge?

Yes they still have cocktails and Hors d'oeurves BUT each drink is charged to your 4  daily allotted Diamond drinks. There is no longer complimentary " all you can drink" then additional drinks at a bar.  The great thing though, is you can use your complimentary drink any time of the ay at any bar ...

No vaccine protects you from becoming infected.

I am putting you on the spot , but what is your professional opinion on the booster? I am on the fence and I guess until my pulmonologist says I need it I may hold off.  I would love to know your thoughts and appreciate them,. You can contact me at the below email address if you do not want to answer publicly. I have been retired from nursing now for a year so not in the "know" as I was before.

Just FYI. I just got my order yesterday and the extended expiration date was 3 Jan 2022 (original was 3 Oct 2021 on the box but they've gotten extended approved by FDA... there's a link to check your lot number). I knew in advance that would be the case based on other threads.

Our Spring cruise is not till 3/22/22 so will be out of the 3 month window. Should be OK for the 10/31 and 12/4 sailings though. Maybe I can write a letter and ask for an extension?

  6. libbisomom, Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question and for including that very helpful video. I think doing the test using this method would relieve and added layer of stress of the possibility of driving 60 miles just to have your test cancelled.

All the required hoops are laborious, but I am willing to do what ever to cruise.  It was so worth it last week to be back on a ship. It was one of the best cruises I have had in years.

I just went to order mine, but it wants to know the name of every person who will take the test. I only need four for our upcoming cruise, don't know who will use the other two.  Can they be transferred later?

I hope at the price we can use them for other cruises later in December and the spring. Of course who knows by then what new demand the CDC will make.

I ordered the six pack from eMed on Tuesday, it was approved on Wednesday, and the tests were delivered to my house this morning.  So pretty quick if you order early in the week, and before 6:00.

Somewhere earlier in the thread it was quoted as a $25 cost. I just went to the eMed website and when I clicked order it said $150. I did not go any farther. Can you verify your cost?  Does it later ask about insurance?

Yes! When you start to fill out the order form it allows you to list up to 3 users. We listed two and when our package came there were 3 test kits prescribed to each of us.

You cannot add or change the users after purchase .

  10. I also want to add my thanks for the wonderful pictures and all of the "inside" information. We returned Sunday from a week on the Allure and I immediately booked us a 6 night Odyssey cruise for Oct 31st sailing.  I am so excited to sail on her.  Are there any electrical plugs by the side of the bed ( or as on Oasis class) tucked behind the mattress?  In your opinion, if you were looking for a nice quite spot in the evening to have a glass of wine  what would you recommend?  Our go-to-place has always been the Trellis Bar in Central Park.  Is the Solarium Bar open till late at night?

Thanks again for answering all of our questions.

All I was saying is you don't need the app. The app can be a valuable tool to some more than others. No argument.  I'm a huge planner also. Do you use a computer at home? Isn't the option of pre booking shows or dining venues thru your cruise planner before you leave? I remember you could do it up four days prior to your sail date.

Yes I run my own business through my home computer but you can no longer pre-book on the Cruise Planner. You have to do it through the app once on board and dining ( if you are doing more than single nights ) at one of the Specialty restaurants once on board, thus my concerns.

  12. I will need it to make our show reservations. We aren't in a suite so no Concierge available other than the Diamond Lounge and I have been told she isn't there till 4:00 pm. I am fearful the days and times we want will be filled by the time I could gain her assistance.  I really miss being able to do this ahead of time. You probably figured out I am very OCD and a huge planner. I just like having all my ducks already lined up when I step on board.   Thank you to all of you who have answered me. I appreciate you taking the time to do it.

  13. I am sure the answer to my question is buried in a previous thread, however I haven't found it. I am not tech savvy thus I do not get the internet package when cruising. I know that we need the phone app now for many things once on board.  My question is: when I board if I have the WIFI setting on my phone in the on position will it automatically connect to the free Royal App Wifi or will I have to log onto it, and if so where do I get the log in information?

Thanks in advance to you far more wise ones.
