I have a personal very important quick question. I read that there is a smoking area on deck 5 starboard aft. We have a GTY OV balcony for our April Transatlantic cruise and looks like we have been given a cabin directly above where this area is on the deck plans. My issue is that I have a very severe lung disease and allergy to cigarette smoke and if that is a smoking area on a 14 day TA we would never be able to even open our balcony door. Would you mind verifying this for me? If this is accurate I may get a letter from my doctor and try and get our GTY cabin moved away from this area.
Thanks,
Virginia Lea

Last week on Odyssey water was in bottles.
Curious were the New Menus being used for the MDR?

I am going on Odyssey tomorrow. I am curious to see if the ship is still in great shape like it was when I sailed on her 18 months ago. .
Would you mind posting the show schedule?. I know it won't be the same for our TA in April on her, but I can at least see what shows I want to book. Have a wonderful cruise.

We were on The Odyssey in Oct 2021 and loved this ship. We are doing the April 22 Transatlantic on her this year so glad to get a recent review. Do you by any chance have a copy of the Show schedule that you could post? I am curious what shows are currently on the ship.
Thanks

The frustrating thing is that each ship seems to be "freelancing" the whole BOGO issue.
Totally agree

Unfortunately, the WJ is following the MDR theme on our current cruise on Enchantment. Some, but not most, of the items on the DR menu are available in the WJ. We're having three Mexican nights and two Italian nights this cruise, but no Asian night in WJ because it's not a theme in MDR.
I'm not too excited about an ENGLISH themed buffet.
Well this is disappointing. Who knew a cruise could be come the new diet. 🤣

I have not read through the entire thread so asking for forgiveness in advance if my question has already been answered. Is the Windjammer following the same theme night as the MDR? I personally hope not, so if you want a different selection you will have one.

this was for Oasis. Main concern was no lobster night showing on app 😐
I noticed the same thing that there is no lobster entre on any of the menus that I have seen, ( or is my eyesight worse than I thought?

So, we have planned a cruise for 2023 on the Radiance of the Seas. This is our first time on a Royal Caribbean cruise.
We wanted a balcony cabin and saw that cabin 8604 seemed to have a different shaped balcony that is larger than most, so we grabbed it. I knew that it had an adjoining cabin, but didn’t think much of it at the time because we were (and still are) excited about our cruise.
I know that everyone’s experience is different, but have you ever stayed in a cabin that was adjoining another? And if so, any problem with excessive noise or any other issues?trying to figure out if I made a mistake or just my brain overthinking stuff. And if I should call and see about changing cabins.
thoughts?
Take a sound machine or use the white noise app on your phone at night if the noise bothers you. I have a travel sound machine that has a USB port and charger for it. I sleep like a baby.

Thanks everyone. Here are the 2 itineraries I am deciding on:
Anthem of the Seas 12nt: Bayonne, 6 days at sea, Funchal, at sea, LA Coruna, at sea, Le Havre, Southampton
Oasis of the seas 14nt: Miami, 9 days at sea, Malaga, Alicante, Valencia, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona
I've been on Oasis and love the ship. I've always wanted to try Anthem but I am not sure if these ports are interesting. I've already been to Funchal and Barcelona. I will be traveling with kids age 9 and 11 and both ships will have enough entertainment for them.
Any thoughts appreciated!
We did our first this past April on the Wonder of the Seas. The oasis class are our favorite class, but especially on the TA. Sea days are our favorite, so this itinerary is great for us. There were so many options of things to do ( or you can choose to not to do anything) and great restaurants if you wanted a special meal. It was our first and we loved it so much I booked one for April 23 on the Odyssey of the Seas. We loved that there were few children and the ship was only 60% full that will be different in 2023.

Will look for you this week. Can't wait to be on the "high seas" again for 14 days. My DH is headed to the Ozarks in November ( Woopigsooie) to Boston Mt.
Safe travels today. We are headed down in a few hours but our commute is much shorter.

This made me even more excited. We only have 6 days before we board for a B2B.

Crown Royal is not supplying any of the cruise lines for their bars currently. Claiming supply chain issues.
It's also not possible for them to get alcohol from the shops to put in the bar. The alcohol purchased for the shops is purchased duty free with the intent of resell. The alcohol purchased for the bars is priced differently from that point of view.
At our local Total Wine, a staff member told us that they are having trouble getting it for their stores. I do believe it is a supply chain issue.

I do not believe anyone has ever received an Odyssey block.
Is there anyone out there that has received one?
We have been waiting for our Odyssey block since last October. Sadly our next block will also be on Odyssey, so I guess we will wait over a year for both. Very disappointing.

I hope that your are correct about the 270 day rule. I have read other accounts that would apply it to boosters as well. Still, if we can get an antigen test prior to boarding the ship, that is workable.
It is confusing verbiage for sure.

Anyone received an Odyssey block lately? Still waiting on block from 1/29/22 sailing. C&A desk won’t provide any timeframe.
I am waiting on mine from October of last year.😓

Prior to booking this cruise, I researched the COVID19 vaccine and testing requriements.
If Royal changes to require that I get another booster, I will cancel.
I have already booked my one-way air back to the USA, plus hotels, etc.
Since Italy has no problem with me, I will then have to purchase another one-way air tickets.
Further, I will be LESS inclined to look at cruising in my travel plans.
Fortunately, the COVID19 restrictions around the World seem to be getting less strict, so there is still hope.
The protocol in the thread I think did say that fully vaccinated individuals whose booster was more than 270 days could have a negative antigen test 1 day prior to boarding.

My cruise is next April, and I have NOT received any email from Royal.
Royal needs to get is act together.
This is exactly what we were talking about on the roll call. It is way to early for our TA cruise for RCCL to release our protocols because all the EU ports-of -call could change dramatically in the next 7-8 months. You almost have to visit international websites daily to keep up with their current protocols. They are all very fluid.

excellent choice. In fact, as we were leaving Giovanni’s and walking thru CP, I was wishing we had.
I do want to give Jamie’s a try someday, apparently the home of the REAL plank 😆
Did any of y'all get the tenderloin at Giovanni's? In the past I preferred theirs to Chops.

I would love that. The sea days are my absolute favorite. If you have a good roll call and roll call leader there will be daily card games organized or dice games, cabin crawl, bar crawls, slot pull, etc. Pleanty of onboard activates as well.

Ditto and anyway the ocean fixes everything! We do Grandeur 4 day in 34 days, can't wait. It's always new to us. There are lots of little things that annoy, but I can easily ignore them. Can't stand that Beef stroganoff is served on rice for instance, should be noodles. WHAT? Or that the biscuits have sugar in them...they are scones! not biscuits. I lap it up and move on. Grateful.
Any meal I don't have to cook and kitchen I don't have to clean is a win-win. The same goes for cleaning my room and bathroom and being thoroughly entertained at no additional cost. Give me some shade, a breeze,, a book, a beverage and an ocean view and the price of my ticket is forgotten.

It does mention waiting for your wellness screening results. I wonder if that is a temperature check? I was also under the impression that they no longer were doing Covid testing between cruises. I will be eager to see what happens. It would seem odd in lei of todays announcement of discontinuing Covid test for 9 and less night cruises.

The boxes were given to random travel partners who attended the latest travel partner webinar.
I received one of the "mystery" boxes. I am just waiting patiently (not) for the email from NCL with the lock combination so I know what is in it. The suspense mounts daily.

I wonder... is it safe to assume that everybody has a smartphone that run the app, or will their be people who for one reason or another don't have the capability to read a virtual-only Cruise Compass?
Not all of cruise travels have smart phones and second some of us lock ours in the safe when we board. I am not addicted to my phone and don't want to be forced to depend on it. Rant over.
