  1. Heading on a16 day Escape next month with just roller board and side bag. It'll be 1st time for me having ship do some laundry.
  2. For non vegetarians, having Iguana in Roatan is a must.
  3. Is there a greater risk of having bags lost at the start of the cruise or stolen at the end? 😆
  4. And this is why I always book directly. With deck plans in front of me.
  5. Last summer I booked excursions thru Viator while in Iceland. Extremely pleased. BTW....I highly recommend the walking foodie tour in Reykjavik.
  6. I mainly play craps and I've never received one offer from NCL.
  7. And this why I never book any travel plans from rental cars, air fare or cruises thru a 3rd party. Penny wise. Pound foolish.
  8. I'm booked on the Escape, April 8th, 16 night TA. It's been sold out for over a week now. Wonderful itinerary so I'm not too surprised about the popularity of this sailing but I always heard most TA's are usually less than full. I guess cruising really is back.
  9. I didn't realize DSC was optional?
  10. Are people really that attention starved that they need to place magnets on their cabin doors? I've been fortunate enough to have travelled around the world by land and sea. Never once did I have the impulse to decorate my hotel room door. And no hotel would allow it. Cruise ship operators are most like concerned about damage to the door surface and I don't blame them.
  11. Love to hear positive comments about service on the ship.
  12. For some reason I always LOL when people refer to these people as butlers. But that's ok.
  13. The question isn't can you but should you. Too many moving parts. Worse case you miss your ship. Best case one giant hassle cluster.
  14. I was just on the phone with NCL about cancelling one of my excursions and they told me they update their availability every 2 weeks. I happen to be using www.ItalyTours.eu next month and I hear good things about them.
  15. If you're booked as a solo traveler with solo room rate, you do have access to the lounge.
  16. You've never been to Mainland China.
  17. Ever been on a cruise out of the Med? Southern Europeans are notorious for cutting in lines. These trips also attract a fair amount of Asians and in their culture it's an endearing quality to push people aside when trying to get someplace. Say what you want about Americans but no doubt we're still the most patient and polite people, for the most part, on earth.
  18. I highly recommend the Foodie Walking Tour. Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland 2024 (viator.com) It's a great way to see the City and learn about some of its history. And of course, tasty food. There's a shuttle bus that runs between the cruise port and the Harpa Concert Hall where the tour begins. Great fun.
  19. I took the Escape out of NYC last September to Maine and Canada for 7 nights. Literally days before departing NCL posts an updated itinerary which ADDED a stop in Newport. Personally, I loved the change and enjoyed that port. I did meet some people who were pretty upset about losing a sea day. Common thread is zero explanation from NCL for the change in plans. That's just how they roll. Or sail).
  20. I'm a solo traveler with a flexible schedule. I'm interested in booking an Alaskan sail this summer. My big requirement is securing a balcony cabin. I'm wondering if anyone on here has had any luck with last minute bookings to Alaska in terms of significant cost savings and cabin choice. TIA.
  21. None of the ships sailing out of Tampa will have the Solo Studio cabins as newer ships can't fit under the Skyway Bridge. As was mentioned earlier, NCL has new pricing on all cabins for solo travelers.
  22. Internet on board no matter what upgrade is pretty useless other than downloading emails without attachments.
  23. I just had my 1st Studio cabin experience on the Prima with one coming up on the Escape. The space is very well laid out with a good size bed. I never slept so well. I enjoyed having the lounge down the hall for morning coffee and some sweets at night. As mentioned earlier, NCL has a Solo meet every afternoon at 5 ( i really think they should make it a bit later) but it is a great way to meet new people and open to all class cabins. I highly endorse the Studio Cabin.
