I checked two places (princess.com and cruisetimetables.com). I don't see the ship sailing until 2024.

I ran the figures for my 5 day cruise. I don't drink. I get Wi-Fi at half price (should be free but that's another story). I have already prepaid the gratuities. The bottom line? Standard fare, port extortions, pre-paid Wi-Fi, gratuities, and the soda package comes to $70 less for the cruise than using the Plus program.

As it should not be. If it's formal night and you want to dress informal then go to the buffet. The dressing up is part of the ambiance. I don't like dressing up but I do out of respect for my wife and my fellow passengers.

You think the actual users of a program should be involved in the design review? What a concept! (Just kidding - it seems like so many programs today are based on what the programmers think is good and not what end users actually need.)

I hope your statement "stake out these spots pretty early" means that people actually sit there and do not save the loungers for later. It's not polite to save loungers for more than 30 seconds.

Regardless of what Princess calls it, it is gratuities. A rose is a rose....

You need to sign up for Wi-Fi in the Medallion app. You would think they would indicate this on the website. At least, I didn't see it mentioned on the site. I had to contact Princess for this via chat.

Pay the gratuities on or before 13 December to get the lower rates. Same thing for the Wi-Fi.

A few dollars more isn't the point, in my opinion. The point is nickel-and-diming If you look at it as a percentage, these really aren't small increases. The Wi-Fi is increasing by 50%. The gratuities are going up roughly 10%. The plus is going up 20% The premier is going up 5% It would be nice if they offered a package with sodas. We don't drink that much. And I can't drink more than 4 or 5 drinks a day because I tend to nurse on them rather then drink they fast. I think Princess is doing their customers wrong by not offering soda program.

I was able to purchase it at half price. Should have been free due to my Platinum level but that's the way it goes. It seems like every rewards program changes the "prizes" just before I become eligible.

I've had phone calls over Wi-Fi with my mother who is currently on the Royal. No problems with the WI-Fi calls.

The lower the fare, the port charges and taxes will be a higher percentage of your fare. For me, the charges are nearly half of the fare. For a $100 fare, I have the feeling the charges will be almost, if not more, than the fare. Governments don't think like regular businesses. If they are losing money due to lower demand then all they do is raise taxes.

My mom and wife are on the Sapphire now. Not only did they have a Thanksgiving celebration with all of the trimmings, they also get to have a Christmas theme on the ship. When they left Kona on Thanksgiving day, the Christmas decorations started going up.

I've been on the Grand, Ruby, and Crown. If I remember correctly, only Aloha and Baja decks have balconies that are really private. On the Royal, can others look into your balcony from decks above? Thanks in advance.

I was hoping to have flowers in my wife's cabin when she and my mother sail. If the only way it can be done then do I use the regular reservations number? Thanks.

Can anyone confirm that a person can use either of the photo packages and get all of the pictures in addition to 5 printed pictures? The personalizer says "Our professional photographers capture your memories at sea. Choose your 5 favorite photos from our Snap Shots, Cruise Moments and Perfect Portraits prints and receive the digital files for free on a souvenir thumb drive. This includes a 10% savings compared to onboard pricing for the same package." (Emphasis mine). To me, this wording is ambiguous. Does one receive 5 pictures printed out and these, along with the other pictures taken of you, are placed on a thumb drive? Or is it just the 5 pictures only are stored on the thumb drive and there are no printed pictures? I have the feeling with everyone going cheap at the expense of the customer, there are not printed pictures.

Thanks, everyone, for your help. I think what I'll do is prepurchase OBC through my wife's personalizer. My mom, a very seasoned cruiser, can help my wife use her debit card if she (wife) runs out of OBC. The thing I don't care about the debit card is the amount of the hold placed on it. I want to make sure there's no confusion if my wife see's the amount of the hold. Again, thanks everyone. I knew I could get a good answer here.

Sorry if this has been covered before. It's been a while since I've been on CC and, unfortunately, the forum search function has not improved. After searching for over a half hour, I decided to create a new topic. My wife is going on a cruise with a friend. My wife does not have a credit card. We don't want to use her debit card for her onboard account. I am thinking of getting gift cards that she can use for her onboard account. I have some questions on using them. She has non-refundable OBC which I guess would be used before any purchased or gift card OBC. Correct? Would it be better to buy the OBC directly or use gift cards for her to give to the customer service desk? (I don't want her carrying a lot of cash and I'm not sure if customer service would accept a check from me.) Regardless of how she gets the OBC (gift card, cash, check), am I right in saying any unused balance would be refunded? Could I authorize my wife to use my credit card for any OBC needed above what she put in as a gift card or cash? (I already signed a form that allowed her to use my credit card for her fare.) Thanks in advance
