  1. I would turn on your cell phone right as the ship is docking. Winona called and picked me up at my ship. She had left a voice mail on my phone.

Thanks! I will make sure to turn it on as we are docking!

  2. I just spoke to the lady at Adventure Bound Alaska, She said someone would meet us at the dock and either walk us over or drive us over to the boat and I did go ahead and tell her we wanted lunch she said make sure we bring cash to pay for lunch that they didn't have anyway on the boat to take credit card payments

  3. I was on Adventure Bound today, and we went to both the South and North Sawyer glaciers. It was their first visit to the south glacier this season.

I debated about doing the all-day trip to Tracy Arm, but I'm so glad I did it!

Still no cruise ships in Tracy Arm.

oh YAY!! thanks for letting us know! I'm booked with Adventure Bound and so looking forward to this excursion!!

  4. Sailing on the Coral princess and a new addition this year was a lumberjack show. They had a guy from the Lumberjack show in Keichikan onboard talking about the show, then there was an ax throwing competition among several passengers (with CD also throwing) Two tickets to the actual show in Ketchikan were given as a prize to the winner. All did surprising well and it was fun to watch.

Oh thank you for telling us!! Boarding the Coral in a couple weeks! Sounds like fun!!

Let me know when you go on the Tracy Fjord Tour with Adventure Bound Alaska! I can't wait to get on that one!

  5. I will make sure to report back when we return. The last time we saw Jaylene was in 2008 when she was the photographer on her Dad's boat. Looking forward to touching base with her and enjoying her new venture.

We went with Harv & Marv in 2014 and Jayleen was our captain...she was great!! I would not hesitate to go with her and or Harv & Marv again

  6. We had the mid-ship forward-corner bump-out on a Vancouver to Whittier cruise and LOVED it. The view was fantastic, and if it was cold we layered clothing or wrapped up in a blanket. We considered it to be part of the Alaska experience! The curve in the balcony does give you a slightly smaller balcony, but with just 2 of us in the cabin, it was a non-issue.

Glad to hear this!! It will be only two of us too! I will just put on more clothes and bundle up with a blanket!!

  7. We had the forward corner bumpout (416 I think) and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. That said, give the choice, I would probably take the rear facing corner bump on the same section. While it never made it unuseable, there was notably more wind underway. On a Panama Canal itinerary it was quite nice, in Alaska might be a bit of an issue depending on temps.

That's what I figure if it gets too cold I'll just put on more clothes:D There was no Aft available.

  8. Same thing happened to me. They dropped the price a little bit before final payment and we was able to get a little bit back, then after final payment they dropped the price big time and we got to upgrade from a oceanview to a balcony at no extra costs so I'll take it!!

Hope it works out for you!

  9. As the old Chinese proverb goes: A picture is worth a thousand words. I am so glad you are considering this cabin. Looks like is it is Caribe Deck. Can't remember....lol. Did a b2b2b (LA/Vancouver/Whittier/Vancouver). Enjoy the stateroom. One of the best I've been in.

Well the pictures did it for me!! I am now booked on Caribe Deck 310:D Again thank you so much for the pictures!!

  10. I don't remember which deck (309) I was on (Coral Princess), but it was the last cabin in the first bump out. Best cabin ever!

Glass balcony railing curved (yes, balcony was slightly, oh so slightly, smaller).

Because it was at the end of the bump out, the other cabins offered wind shear protection. Think deflector on a car/truck.

No obstruction, you could see a wider range (and your neighbors balcony and room aft of you).
