Other than sports, princess doesn't show the mainstream networks.
I have never seen ABC/NBC/CBS network programming in the cabin.
Really? I haven't sailed on Princess yet, but have been on Carnival twice, and they had ABC/NBC/CBS I believe.
We will be on the Jan 21 Ruby sailing. Any chance we will be able to watch the AFC & NFC Championship games on Sunday the 22nd?

We are leaving LA on the Ruby on 10/8 will they carry the debates on Sunday evening? Does the ship still have CNN & FOX channels?
The debate will be broadcast live on ABC, CBS, and FOX (NBC will be showing Sunday Night Football). So, even without the cable news channels, you'd still be able to watch.

Is there any way I can get AA to refund all of my money?
You purchased a non-refundable fare with a $300 change fee. Why would they refund your money?

OK that makes sense. Thanks!

Looking at booking a mini suite for 3 on the 1/21 Ruby sailing. When I search available mid-ship cabins, I see this:
However, when I search for a 2 passenger cabin, I get this:
I thought all mini suites came with a sofa bed and could sleep 3. Did something change?

Looking at the 1/21/17 Ruby sailing, the difference between an MB and an M1 is $80. We prefer mid-ship, so I would consider paying that much just for location. With the added amenities, Club Class seems like a no-brainer.

Can anyone who has stayed here in a 1 King Bed Suite tell me if the room includes a sofa bed? We need a room that sleeps 2 adults and 1 child, and it appears that the standard rooms have 2 double beds (which I assume are full size not queen). Wife and I wouldn't be able to comfortably share a full size bed. Thanks.

Just happened to be looking at the cruise ship tracker and noticed that Carnival Freedom is pulling into Cozumel. According to cruisetimetables, the ship was in Belize yesterday, and today is supposed to be the first of two sea days on the way back to Galveston. Anyone know what's going on?

Just got off Carnival Splendor on Dec 13. Did the self assist disembark and we were at MIA by 9:30. Plenty of time for our 11:36 flight.
-
We were on the 12/6 Splendor sailing. We had FTTF and were on board by about noon. I think they were running a little behind though. There were still passengers debarking when we checked in around 11:00.

Looking at the deck plans for Oasis and Allure, it appears that the large blocks of forward interior staterooms on decks 9, 10 & 11 do not connect directly to the forward elevator lobby. Is that right? If I was in, for example, room 11452, would I have to go all the way forward and then back again to reach the elevator lobby? I've included a screen shot below to show what I'm referring to.

Celebrity Silhouette has a 14 day sailing on Sept 24, 2016 that stops in Santorini as well as Ashdod and Haifa in Israel.

I am hoping the splendor. I'll be coming out to California next summer from PA, never got on her when she was in NY, but hope to get on her out of LA!
Splendor is going to China too, but not until 2018. I suppose she could still come to L.A. during 2017, but it will depend on when the new Panama Canal opens.

Are all sailings open? I got an email about summer 2017 sailings but didn't see any Alaskan cruises when I looked.
Alaska cruises aboard the Legend are available on the Carnival site now. One thing I don't see are any Mexican Riviera cruises out of Long Beach. I know that the Miracle is going to China, but which ship will replace her?

Another question... For booking purposes only we will have our 3 year old niece in the room (will be sleeping with her parents across the hall).
So it will be your sister, her husband, and 2 kids in the same room? Have you checked to make sure that room will indeed sleep 4? Only some of them do.

We have always been off and driving by 8, I want to say, but it does vary. Usually around 6:45-7am we can start leaving the ship, sometimes it's not till closer to 8. I have seen/heard of ships come in late, though! It happens.
Wow, we must have been running late on Splendor last Sunday. It was probably close to 9:00 by the time self assist was done.
-
You don't. If you want to self assist, you simply keep your luggage with you instead of putting it outside your cabin the last night. How do you inform carnival you would like to self assist off the boat?
Self assist is called by deck number. Last week on Splendor, we were one of the last few decks to be called, and we were off around 8:45. We were getting into a taxi by 9:10.What time does self assisters normally get off the boat?
That I'm not sure. You could probably wait until the last self assist deck is called. I'm not sure if I would wait until they start calling luggage zones, but what are they going to do, keep you on the ship? :eek:Do you have to get off as soon as they call you or can you hang around for a bit? -
Combination. Although, we couldn't use ours because our 4 year old punched in her own "code" the first day, and the door was stuck open with the bolt engaged! :o

I've never been on a Fantasy-class ship, but looking at the deck plans, my concern would be that the Empress deck PT cabins are right under the main theater. It may be noisy if you are in you cabin while shows or rehearsals are in progress.

Thank you for doing this review! We were on Miracle a little over a year ago, and this brought back a lot of good memories. And I must say your photos are gorgeous, some of the best I've seen here on CC!

They have changed it to a Fun Day at sea.
Why do they have to make it a sea day? Looking at the itinerary, seems they could just add an extra day in Mazatlan or Manzanillo.

My wife, daughter, and I just returned from the December 6 sailing aboard the Carnival Splendor. On Friday, December 11, we were docked next to Britannia at Grand Turk. I managed to get a few photos and thought I would share them here.

My wife, daughter, and I just returned from the December 6 sailing aboard the Carnival Splendor. On Wednesday, December 9, we were docked next to the Disney Fantasy in St. Thomas. I managed to get a few photos and thought I would share them here.

I hear you. Until a couple of months ago, I lived in Washington (always a "blue" state). Now, I live in Idaho (always "red"). So, my vote doesn't count either.
