  1. We have not cruised with Royal Caribbean in about five years. We are three weeks away from our cruise and I’ve been trying to check in on the app. It gives me what looks to be a boarding pass, but says they have hit a snag and they will send me Health questions the day before the cruise. Is that normal? The other cruise lines we have used since Covid have not done this on their app. So you can’t fully check in until the day before the cruise?

And the larger concern is they required that I make a health assessment appointment. We’re in a suite and we should already be on the ship by the time of this “appointment.” Surely Royal Caribbean is not still doing this kind of stuff . Can someone reassure me here?

  2. We are beginning to plan a Hawaii cruise for next summer. For us, the most important part of the cruise is having a great balcony that is deep enough for two nice lounge chairs. We spend a lot of time staring at the beauty from our balcony! We are stuck between a large balcony cabin or a Penthouse Suite with large balcony. The price difference seems significantly more than the difference between a balcony and a suite on most of the Caribbean cruises we have done.

For those of you have been on the ship is it worth the money to do the suite? What are the benefits that could make it worth the money? I am just starting to research but I haven’t seen a lot of pictures that give me a clear idea of the difference in the two cabins. Thanks so much!

  3. We are in a crown loft suite on Allure and I really can’t tell from the deck plans where exactly it is on the ship. One plan says it’s on deck 18. Another says it’s on deck 17. On one it looks like it’s forward  and another it looks like it’s aft! Can someone tell me where exactly it is? We are in 1704. I’m trying to orientate myself to where the lounge is and the sundeck, etc..

  4. On the Allure in a suite in September.

    — Does anyone know what night Mamma Mia is performed? And it’s the full show right? Like two hours? My wife wants to see it so I want to plan around it.

    — Is it hard to get a cabana on this ship? I had to get up pretty early on Harmony to get one, but we enjoyed them.

    — Do they open the tennis courts for pickle ball?

  5. We loved harmony! And that does sound good about a pool in the solarium. Is the solarium close to the Crowne suite cabins?

Anything else significantly different on Allure than harmony?

we have never been on a suite on RC.  Any special perks that you particularly enjoyed?

  6. We are sailing on the allure out of Galveston in September. Never been on the ship, although we have been on Harmony. A couple of questions.

    — we are staying in a crown loft suite. Excited about that. Do both bathrooms have showers or is the downstairs just a half bath?

    — we love karaoke. We cruised on Princess recently and they had karaoke tonight the whole cruise! Does the allure have karaoke nightly?

    — we love the spa. Anyone have a great recent therapist to recommend? Also, does the thermal Suite have a whirlpool?

    — and finally for those who have stayed in suites, what is the suite sundeck like? Is there shade? Thanks!

  7. We leave tomorrow on the Majestic and we have booked all of our excursions but they are nowhere to be found on the app or the website. We were trying to review with our friends what we are doing and when and we can’t find it anywhere. On the app, if you go to excursions you just get documents. Does anyone know the answer to this?

Also, we got an email from Princess saying to get ready for voice of the ocean. We love Voice! However, the timeline shows nothing about voice of the ocean and karaoke only one night the whole cruise! Does anyone know the actual situation here?  Even if they don’t have voice of the ocean, surely they have karaoke more than one night?

  8. We are those folks that love to get on the ship early and get the enclave booked and our meals and spa, etc. We will be boarding the Majestic this Saturday in Vancouver. We are staying in a suite. What’s the earliest u would recommend getting there. We’ve never cruised out of Vancouver before? Or what time does boarding generally start?

  9. Our long awaited Alaska cruise on the Majestic is only a month away! We will be going north from Vancouver to Whittier. Our first day is a sea day and our last two days are in glacier Bay in college fjord.

We love the spa and the enclave. We want to use the enclave every day And the spa on a few days. We have excursions in the ports and so we’re looking at the possibility of getting massages on the sea days. But we don’t want to miss anything! Is there anything to see on the first sea day out of Vancouver? And on the last two days , is there any time of the day that would be better to get a massage? Especially the last day? Will we be seeing scenery on all day or toward the end of the day? Do they leave that behind to head on to Whittier?

  10. We are sailing on the Majestic out of Vancouver in July. So excited. First time cruising Alaska. A few questions for the veterans.

    — We are excited to have our biggest balcony ever. We’re in D727, which is an aft suite with a wraparound balcony. Is that the best place to watch the sceneries on the days we did glaciers? We go to glacier bay and college fjord. Or is it better to go up on the deck somewhere?

    — I understand there’s a heated covered pool area? Is that as good as it sounds? And is it a good place to be on sea days with a good view?

    — We have enjoyed the sanctuary during Caribbean cruises, but I feel like that might not be the best choice in Alaska. Thoughts?

    — We love karaoke! And the voice has been amazing to participate in. Will they have the voice on this cruise?

    — Sometimes we have loved the shows and sometimes not so much. How are the shows on the Majestic right now?

    Thanx!

  11. We are planning our first Alaskan cruise on the Majestic next July 8. When the cruise ends in Anchorage on the 15th we will have five nights free until we fly out on the 20th.

We are trying to decide the best way to use those days and see things we would not have seen on the cruise. We really like the idea of taking the Goldstar train to different places. Does anyone have experience with this or other ideas? We would love to see the beautiful views of Course, bears and other wildlife and are open to some moderate outdoor experiences. We are in our early 60s and healthy but can’t hike more than two or 3 miles at a time.

This is a big deal trip for us so we’re willing to splurge on the budget.  We would love your ideas!

  12. We are holding a Cabin for a cruise out of Australia to New Zealand on ovation next January. We have been on the harmony, the explorer, serenade and the radiance.  This ship looks completely different than any of the ships we have been on. Plus we've never been to Australia. Before I put a nonrefundable deposit down I'm just trying to make sure this is a wise use of a lot of money.

If you have done this cruise what did you think? And what do you think about the ovation itself? We are holding a grand suite with a large balcony which looks wonderful from the pictures. Thanx!
