  1. Last I heard was 3 cabins were being converted. Inside, I would guess. Not sure of the decks. I'd guess spread out. Maybe 4, 7, and 9
  2. Fairly close to Intercontinental which is HQ for World Cruise.
  3. I seem to recall there is a shuttle included during the kick off. Don't recall details.
  4. For 7 day trip, one check bag and one carry-on per person. Carry-on only for short cruise. We get 6 bags per cabin for world cruise Brightline would be great for that if I could figure out luggage allowance
  5. Huh, I thought you had a $100+ cab ride to airport after B1. Must have been someone else
  6. I haven't seen any kind of luggage policy for Brightline yet
  7. Tampa is fine, actually closer, but it's offering ans clients are even more blue collar than PC. Bridge limits are a pain
  8. The OP brought up title of busiest port, and you mentioned how to 'keep' the title. I was merely pointing out the flaw in your logic.πŸ˜‰ FWIW, the massive population of affluent Boomers in the Villages seem to enjoy the offerings. Would I like Celebrity, sure, but not holding my breath. That opportunity passed years ago.
  9. @Ourusualbeach drives down from Ontario😱
  10. We started sailing Royal from PC when we lived in Atlanta. Right at 500 miles. Pt Canaveral was a doable drive down. Ft Lauderdale we did once, it was just to much
  11. @firefly333 shared her Miami cab story departing Oasis in March. It wasn't pretty
  12. Used to love seeing the Ron Jon's signs headed to CB on 75 south when we lived in Atlanta
  13. Food for thought. Is 20+ minutes really that badπŸ€” Personally I prefer driving 70+ vs stuck in bumper to bumper traffic
  14. I'm headed down tomorrow to see my dad. Miami Springs, near the airport Not looking forward to it. Taking Turnpike most of the way
  15. Not sure why you think its not a premium departure point. The draw of the theme parks an hour away is a big boon according to port officials. But I guess that's a downside to cruisers not participating. As far as drivability, don't care about airport, PC has almost twice the potential customer base as Miami/PE. Unsure about your comment on nearby population πŸ€” 500 miles is the max a lot of people care to drive in 1 day based on my unscientific observation BTW, this is a fun tool. Here's the link https://www.statsamerica.org/radius/big.aspx
  16. They need more big ships to keep the title, not boutique lines like Silversea or Regent. It also helps, title wise, to place huge ships doing 3 and 4 day Bahamas runs. Passenger turnover is the metric used. Doing 8+ night voyages does little to boost annual passenger counts And FWIW, they don't seem to have issues filling ships on boring itineraries. Not everyone is as jaded as we areπŸ˜‰
  17. Pretty sure they know it's a temporary title Do you think they'll boot Victory out to expand? And FWIW, with many, many years of sailing from PC, I've only got stuck by drawbridge once
  18. Pt Canaveral is a big drive to port, and an add on to folks doing the theme park experience in Orlando The Orlando airport had recently finished a massive terminal expansion Cape Canaveral has been on a tear in adding hotels. At least 6 new properties in last 4 years. Cocoa Beach is adding a huge new resort just south of the Ron Jon area. Might be a pipe dream, but plans for an aquarium just west of port seem to be progressing And if you're lucky, you get to see rockets launch, and even land 😁
  19. Jump on the first 3 minis. Miami to LA. Includes NYE in Rio😁 Easiest flight home
  20. Only real difference in physical card is the inclusion of RFID, but that's only on newer ships Oh, and I guess the colors keep changing to indicate accommodations or C&A status
  21. He joined us on Wonder for inaugural. Very personal and outgoing. That being said, it won't bother me that he is now not joining us for the voyage around the horn as they were planning
  22. FWIW. the segment folks seem to have been embraced. Not sure about the minis. Another dynamic is the full cruisers who switched to minis to save money. Not sure how Royal or my fellow guests will treat them. Big issue I see is the drink package. Originally everyone had the pkg. Even segment pax. Now, the mini cruisers do not. Just more work for bar staff. As far as bar seats, I've sailed Radiance ships in the past where the same folks sat in the same stools in the CL lounge every night. Lord help someone who got there before they didπŸ˜‰
  23. I can only go by our experience on the Mariner Odyssey, and we were only on for 15 days when the new wave boarded in Dubai. I for one was looking forward to seeing some friends who boarded then
  24. Originally it was a 'perk' of booking the full trip. Instant recognition. Now that they have offered individual minis, it probably doesn't matter
