  1. One of the key selling points for me is the no smoking in the casinoon Celebrity . Can anybody comment on how MSC is with respect to smoking?
  2. I thought the flush button is hidden behind the lid if it is up (meaning the toilet can't be flushed unless the lid is down)? I hope the OP is ok...
  3. I was considering this but I am worried navigating train station with luggage (or not knowing which train etc 🤦).
  4. Thank you for this. Do you think walk off/ taxi is better than Celebrity transfer? I have an Air Canada flight to Canada, 12:15pm departure, on a Wednesday mid July. Trying to determine what to do. Thank you to the OP for starting this discussion and to all the answers so far.
  5. What about a Celebrity transfer from Rotterdam to AMS? Is this a viable option?
  6. I just flew FLL-YUL and Air Canada stated they would not accept luggage until 3hrs before the flight.
  7. I just got off the Silhouette - first cruise since pre-covid. I found that food quality, food selection and customer service were all excellent. I did not notice the decline referenced a lot on these boards. Big change, imo, is that cruise prices have increased significantly.
  8. Just off the silhouette. A future cruise agent told me that for the book later option, you have 6months to book a cruise and get the additional OBC bonus for booking onboard. She then said you could still book up to 1 year later, but after 6months you lose the additional OBC for booking onboard. Sorry but I didn't take a flyer so not sure what is officially written.
  9. I am on Silhouette now (sadly leaving tomorrow). I was told by guest services that the $4.09 for suite services is for the butler. Although not directly spoken about in this thread, I was also told that any cash given to a crew member is kept by that crew member and not pooled. I have heard before that it was pooled in some areas, so not sure for certain!
  10. From what I was told, just upgrading interior items that need replacing, but not structural changes. Maybe the rooms will be refreshed? @villauk it's been years - I hope you are doing well! I've never been on the Infinity. On Silhouette now - she's beautiful. My 1st cruise since pre-2020.
  11. Correction: Infinity is in dry dock - about 20 days. NOT being revolutionized, just a drydock update... Sorry for the incorrect info above.
  12. I'm on Silhouette now and Future Cruises told me the Infinity is currently in dry dock being revolutionized. Looks like next sailing is February 12.
  13. Aren't you risking the Non-Refundable rate could be higher when you decide to "lock in" at a non-refundable rate? (Compared to of you booking NRD originally).
  14. Thank you for this info @Jim_Iain. I am surprised by this design flaw (imo). It must be a space-saving reason? The slamming open/close in rough seas would be bothersome. @Jim_Iain was your experience on Edge or Apex? Is it possible that this would be modified on Beyond or Ascent?
  15. I believe the door to the bedroom in a Celebrity Suite on Edge Series is a sliding door. Does this provide a sufficient sound barrier (eg snoring)? The M series has a real door providing silence and privacy - just wondering if this is accomplished on the Edge series?
  16. I have seen afternoon tea available at the oceanview cafe - although it is self serve. Included Scones, Jams, Cream (whipped?)... Not sure if this is every cruise.... @Hydro ergo - worth checking out... It was ~330pm if I recall.
  17. Happy Birthday Jim 🥳. I always enjoy your live threads so much. Thank you for always sharing with us!
  18. In the MDR and Luminae, you can also speak to your waiter each evening to view the next day's menu. We were able to request certain dishes be made with low sodium. This was pre-pandemic, but I would guess you could still do it now.
  19. That's fantastic to hear. Always wonderful to hear positive customer service stories. Kudos to X ! Have a wonderful cruise!
  20. Additional Info: CAA travel insurance apparently does still consider covid an eligible reason for trip cancellation. What I find frustrating, is the agent tells me this, and then also says "but it isn't listed explicitly in the policy documentation" 🤯
