Look at pics of the aft pool on the Splendor and I think you will find the openness you are wanting. It is much more open than the Glory! You will have a great time I am sure!
I definitely agree! The aft part of the Splendor is open and I'm pretty sure you'll love that!

I've sailed on the Carnival Liberty(2013 with the 2.0 upgrades)and the Carnival Splendor. Personally, the Carnival Splendor would be my choice. It didn't have the 2.0 upgrades but it had the burger bar, pizza place, tandoor, burrito place, rotisserie, great steakhouse and a lot of bars. It's a lovely ship but you'll get use to the pink doughnuts after the first night. The food is great which ever ship you choose. If you haven't sailed the Splendor, give her a try before she leaves us permanently.

We're booked on the 10 day Europe cruise. It's the fourth cruise before it's TA to NY on 5/9/18. We're stoked as this is my family's first time traveling out of the US. Can't wait to get those stamps in our passport lol

After waiting MONTHS for Carnival to release the Horizon's itinerary, I was glad to see the announcement yesterday on John Healds FB page. I went to carnivals website and browse through the European sailings. I wish the Horizon was in Europe throughout the summer but we went ahead and booked our 10 day cruise on the beautiful Carnival Horizon (4/29/18-5/9/18). I know we're the fourth cruise before the TA to NY.
We're excited and can't wait to see what Barcelona have to offer since we're flying in 5 days prior to our cruise to sightsee. We are also excited abt the ports of call and getting our passport stamped :)
Who is joining us on this beautiful 10 day cruise of the Meditterean??

Since the Splendor is leaving us in 2019, I have a feeling that they'll send either the Glory or one of the Dream class ships to the WC. If it's one of the Dream class ships and a new itinerary for us, Carnival will attract more cruisers out in the WC

I love that ship too! After sailing on her 8/13/16 she has a special place in my heart. It's sad that a lot of cruisers don't like the Splendor but she's really a great ship that's underrated and unique to Carnivals fleet.

We love the Splendor and were so happy when we found out it was coming back to Long beach and now this. Hope we get something nice to replace it.
Hopefully in her place, we'll get the 3rd Vista class ship in 2019

We sailed on the Carnival Splendor on 8/13/16-8/21/16. We had a great cruise on her and she's a beautiful ship. If you want, you can such my review of my cruise on the Carnival Splendor on here "Carnival Splendor review 8/13/16-8/21/16". It's lengthy but it'll answer most of your concerns you may have abt the Splendor.

Leaving next August on the 8 day to the Southern Caribbean on the Magic, which will be our second time there. Others going with us, it will be there 3-4 times doing the southern cruise. The eastern itinerary is not a bad one either if you've never been, but we like Aruba and Curacao over the others.
We're on the same cruise as you in 8/2017! We just did the Southern Caribbean aboard the Carnival Splendor 8/13/16-8/21/16 and it was a great cruise. We went to GT, La Romana, Aruba and Curaçao. Aruba and Curaçao were BEAUTIFUL!! I was sad when that cruise ended :(

This happened to me. Last year(4/5/15), we booked an 8 day cruise aboard the Carnival Breeze for August 13-21,2016. June 2015, Carnival did the "dancing of the ships" and we were moved to the Carnival Splendor. Luckily, I had the same room number on the Splendor as I did on the Breeze. However, we still had a great cruise and the Splendor has a special place in my heart. I've sailed on the Liberty for my first cruise ever and the Valor is the twin sister to the Conquest class of ships. At least both of the ships has the 2.0 upgrades; the Splendor had none but like I said, we had a great cruise and you will too!

Losing Kauai, one of the most beautiful and desirable ports on the Hawaiian itinerary. Not sure what Carnival is thinking here. Major bummer!
IIRC, when the Splendor was sailing the Pacific coast several years ago, I heard that the Carnival Splendor was too big to dock in Kauai.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Thank you for a great review! I am wondering is there a pizza pirate on the Splendor, or just room service pizza? They don't mention it on the website and my vegetarian daughter really loves her Pizza Pirate!
Thanks
Tsj
The Splendor has both pizza pirate and room service pizza. The pizza from room service is a personal pan pizza whereas pizza pirate is the thin crust pizza. Both are good.

I'm guessing her final homeport will be either Galveston or NYC. Doubt they would but both Vista class ships in Florida.
What abt NOLA? They've been doing well with the Carnival Dream so I don't see why not give NOLA a Vista class ship also

When will we be able to book? Itineraries? ANYTHING?:D
I'm getting impatient. :o
I was just abt to create a post abt this but you beat me to the punch! I'm right along with you getting impatient lol. I've "heard" that itineraries should be released around November or December but I've asked John on fb and he didn't answer yet.

We just got off the Splendor last month. It's a nice ship and yes it's PINK but it's not overwhelming. You'll get use to the color after the first night. I wrote a review on my cruise if you want to read it.
Has it been confirmed that the Splendor is moving back to Los Angeles bc I would love to sail on her again. Also, when the Splendor was in Los Angeles a few years ago, did it do any Alaskan routes?

We love the Miracle! We were on her in August, have another trip planned for March 18, 2017 and was actually looking at Dec. 17, 2017 (want a last ride before we lose her!)
I have a review here
