All the more reason the $3k credit is like winning a mini lottery. To me, the negativity about inside cabin is mostly psychological. If you go with an attitude that you are going to have fun and enjoy yourself, it will be a good cruise regardless of where you stay on the ship.

For $3k credit, NCL can bump me to an inside cabin at anytime.

Or the 'must have' impulse buying habit. That said, it's your money to spend however you wish.

Very interesting read. Thanks. I very seldom book my cruise 55 days out to catch hot cruise deals and so far, this strategy has saved me a bundle. There are always a few cruises I am interested to go every year so if one doesn't work out, no biggie. I will just move on to the next cruise on my target list.

Go goggle customer reviews on some of the so called 'bargain' online TA sites. It is truly shocking and really opens your eyes.

le have their card maxed out and only pay part of it, and still cruise. Shame on them.
But can you blame them? Cruising can be as addictive as smooth Whiskey or good sex. Gotta get that fix and go on another cruise or check yourself into rehab. There is simply no other way out.

Better yet, let's make this simple and easy for everyone. Don't like NCL or it's booze policy? Don't cruise with NCL.

Some cruise lines offer immediate OBC if you put a deposit down for a future 6 day+ cruise while onboard. It's another way to get free money if you know you will cruise with them again.
-
If you are too cheap to pay the $15 cocking fee, you shouldn't be cruising because it costs you $$$$ to go. Those who abuse the system are the ones ruining it for rule-abiding passengers. Get a grip please or just stay home.

You can usually guess which cruise will get a big price slash by tracking the number of vacant staterooms on the ship close to sailing date. So far, this strategy has worked great for me.

Let's blame it all on NCL because that's what some people would insist regardless of the circumstances. It's always somebody else's fault but mine when things go wrong.

Corporate image and customer goodwill are worth way more than a few plane tickets to the Caribbean. Hat off to NCL for going out of its way and helping these strained passengers out. Smart move.
-
It may not be NCL's legal responsibility or even its fault but it is bad publicity and a potential PR nightmare if not handle properly. I feel sorry for the parties caught in this.
-
This is just brutal although I assume NCL had no choice since their ships are on a tight time table.

BoltBus (must reserve in advance) or Greyhound. BoltBus from Vancouver stops at downtown Seattle where you can catch metro light rail to SeaTac for about $3 pp.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. My wife & I got off Rhapsody at 10am that morning back from our Alaska cruise. What a great time we had. So sad to see her leaving NA. I can also make out our old house (a tiny white dot) just above Taylor Way in one of your pictures. :)
Has prices gone up the last year?
