  1. Ken, thank you so much for posting your thoughts and photos. I’m boarding the Summit in Iceland on August 19, and your posts are getting me through the next week! A few questions: how many children are on board? Is the solarium very busy? Do you know how many passengers are on board altogether? thanks, Georgina
  2. Hey Jim, thanks for doing another live review. We’ll be joining you on the Iceland to Boston leg. We’re the family traveling with two teenage boys. We have a corner FV plus an inside cabin for the kids, so hoping the weather permits some use of our balcony. I suspect there won’t be many kids on this sailing. Am very interested in the first leg of your journey given that it’s basically our own trip in reverse. Safe travels. -Georgina
  3. Loving this review Charla, thank you for taking the time to write and post. Your photos are fantastic! We’ll be boarding the Summit on August 19 Iceland to Boston, and everything you write just gets me more and more excited for our trip. Enjoy Bermuda! I’ve done the Summit to Bermuda a few times now and it never gets old. Hope you and Jeremy have a fantastic trip! -Georgina
  4. What is the current protocol for contact tracing if someone tests positive for covid after being on a shore excursion? Am wondering if all the other people on the excursion will be called in for testing. Anyone experience this lately, or does it seem that this has fallen by the wayside?
  5. Celebrity has a fantastic kids program, your son will have a blast. We too enjoy traveling the world with our children, and a cruise ship makes it really easy to do so. Our kids are teens now, and Celebrity is their favorite cruise line. For your own sake, it will be a much much better experience for everyone if he is potty trained and can stay with the other toddlers for a few hours. Pro tip from a mom who’s youngest also had medical issues: you can potty train a 3 1/2 year old in a weekend. Roll up your rugs, and take the kid’s pants off. No diapers, no underwear, nothing. They won’t just go, they look for a corner or some out of the way spot to go. You need to be watching the whole time, and when you sense they need to go, put them on the potty. Repeat all weekend, praising lavishly any success. Reward success with m&ms. One m&m for a pee in the potty, six m&ms for a poo. He’ll catch on really quickly lol.
  6. We’ve sailed on many millennium class ships with our easygoing teens and they always have a great time. Between the ports, pools, food, table tennis, wii games, and all the music onboard there’s plenty for them to do. Sometimes they find others their age and sometimes they hang out with us all day. I bring some cards and puzzles, but they will also just read or play games on their own. They would almost certainly prefer waterslides and zip lines, but the adults (us) have zero interest in vacationing at an amusement park, and we are the ones booking and paying so celebrity it is! We’re booked on a 12 night Iceland to Boston on the Summit in August and they are so excited to visit 3 new countries and to just be on a cruise. The ship isn’t the only measure of a good vacation.
  7. RCL earnings came out on May 5 and they announced slow summer demand for European cruises due to the invasion of Ukraine, a resurgence in on board covid infections, and higher food and fuel costs due to supply chain issues and inflation. Combine this with the general market meltdown, it makes sense. Buy the dip?
