  1. Talking about having some random photos from Allure. Hope this might solve some mysteries.

    20160708202655-0536cf85-me.jpg

This makes a lot of sense! Thank you for putting this out here! I did not realize before that there was no A3 or A4, since all the other general muster station areas have 4 muster stations within themselves. It appears the crew also have their own assembly stations, which I had suspected but did not know for sure!

  2. LOL!! Thanks, ketchup packets in hand if needed!

We are JS cabin #11236. Nice not having to stand like sardines out there

    on the promenade deck. :)

You never know when they'll come in handy! ;)

While it is comforting to be close to the lifeboats, I trust that the cruise line has a well-tested plan to get everybody off the ship in an emergency, and in my opinion, having muster in an air-conditioned venue makes it a lot easier to pay attention! Judging by your location, my guess would be the cafe on the Royal Promenade for 11236. Not a bad place, as long as there are enough seats! Enjoy your cruise- and that extra square footage on the balcony :D

  3. So far, I've only witnessed the negativity. Honestly, I think some posts were begging for it.

I am fairly new to the boards too. I joined two years ago but have not used it very often, but am just now getting into it to do research for my upcoming cruise. I am probably the youngest person on here at 17, but my family and I have grown to love cruising and my 14-year-old brother and myself have made ourselves very knowledgable on cruise ships and are always eager to learn more at the Captain's Corner Q and A on the final day of each cruise. As far as what I've experienced, I don't think negativity isn't something you and I will be seeing regularly on here! Just here to learn from experienced cruisers.

  4. Oh, I understand. I didn't think stations were situated by class. I just thought that if I found someone with my cabin on a previous sailing (or close to it), that I would be directed to the muster station.

No big deal. But, just for giggles, I'll share: Allure, deck 12 midship (near the elevators) [emoji4]

Unfortunately, I have not yet stayed in a midship cabin on Oasis class (but will on Harmony in April!) My guess for you is if you are near the forward elevator lobby, your muster station may be one of the ones in the entertainment district, for example comedy club, jazz lounge, Blaze, or karaoke club. If further aft-midship, your location will likely be on the Royal Promenade in an area such as the cafe or champagne bar. If that is the case than do arrive early, as there are not many seats at those stations! Right smack-dab in the middle of the ship will likely be Studio B, which, guessing by the location of my cabin on Harmony, I am fairly confident that will be my location, which definitely beats scorching out on deck like on the Liberty this past March! Enjoy your cruise, Allure is a great ship with more to do than any of us can do in one week! Any questions about the ship, activities/ venues onboard, etc., I'd be happy to answer!

  5. So we'll need to go to the buffet first and stock up on some snacks? Do you know if the WJ supply takeaway boxes?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know the MDR does, but not sure about WJ. However, if you bring a box of your own, I do not believe there are any rule about taking food out!

As for bringing snacks, they announce ahead of time that smoking, eating, drinking and using cell phones/ electronics during the drill is not allowed. However, I'm sure some assembly station leaders are more lenient than others! (Once again, insert emoticon here). I do believe most are strict on the matter though, as my brother tried to bring his Coke freestyle cup to muster on the Allure and he was not allowed to bring it into the dining room, which was our station. If I recall correctly, I think he left it with a crew member outside the entrance to the MDR and he was able to reclaim it once muster was dismissed. Not 100% sure that's how it unfolded, but I do remember he was not allowed to bring it in.

  6. Is there any food served at muster? Surely they can't expect us all to hang around starving?

Unfortunately, no. As a matter of fact, all guest services are suspended 15-30 minutes in advance. However, the drill never takes more than 20-30 minutes and once it's over, for me it's back to the room to send my last texts and posts for the week (as my family and I don't bother with the expensive wi-fi), and then straight to the deck for sailaway with a refreshing virgin cocktail in my hand followed by a tasty dinner to start the cruise!

  7. Thanks! So, if I found someone who had my cabin on my ship, they could tell me my code and then I'd know where my muster station is?

    [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]

I'll just wait and see! That's about the only way to make a muster drill just a little exciting [emoji23]

Thanks for the welcome! Happy to be booked!

Muster stations are not decided based on cabin category or by deck, but on location within the ship. For example, if you are in a D2 category cabin forward on deck 10, you will report to a different location than D2 cabins in the aft section of deck 10. But if you know where your cabin is on the deck plan, i.e. forward, midship, aft, I might be able to pinpoint as I may have stayed near it on one of my previous cruises. Enjoy your cruise! Which ship are you on?

  8. Bob, would I be wrong in guessing they are the actual muster station numbers?

Will be interesting to see where we "mustard" on Oasis coming up. Though I keep

forgetting to bring my ketchup!! :p

You are correct! I've sailed on both Oasis and Allure so I've memorized the ships pretty well!

If you know the location of your cabin, I might be able to give you an idea of where it might be. Just remember to bring the ketchup! (For some reason it won't let me insert an emoji here. lol)

  9. I'm new to RC, so please don't hate me.

I believe the listing above are categories? How do you know which category your cabin is? Or, where can I find this info for my particular cabin?

    Thanks!

No worries! That's my fault, I should have been more clear. Each muster station onboard comes with a letter and a number. I put that out there to answer questions for those on here who were wondering where the locations were. So in this case, those are muster station codes. My apologies for the confusion and welcome to RC!

  10. Not 100 percent sure but maybe 99 percent as I have sailed both Oasis and Allure and have an upcoming cruise on Harmony.

A1-4: Vitality At Sea Fitness Center

    B1-4: Amber Theater

    C1: Jazz on 4

    C2: Blaze Nightclub

    C3: Comedy Live

    C4: On Air Karaoke Club

    D1-4: Studio B Ice Rink

    E1: Royal Promenade

    E2: Promenade Cafe

    E3: Champagne Bar

    E4: Guest Services

    F1-4: Main Dining Room

    G1-4: AquaTheater

I know this is an old thread but I hope this answers any remaining questions! No need to worry about muster on this ship, as all but one area is in a comfortable, air-conditioned venue. I don't mind it one bit! (After all, it is for your safety!)

Allure is a wonderful ship, as is the Oasis class of ships in general.

  11. I am terribly sorry to "take over" this thread so to speak, but I have a question regarding this topic. My family and I will be staying in two separate cabins next year on the Harmony, ocean view balcony 10206 and Central Park balcony 10207, both on Deck 10 port side and circled in the attached image for location reference, courtesy of the deck plans on the Royal Caribbean website. I read the reply about the color-codes and noticed that the rooms have different colors. Does that mean we will be at different muster stations? If that is the case it is no big deal, as the purpose of the system is undoubtedly to efficiently gather everyone in an emergency. I was just wondering, for anybody who has sailed in this general area of the Oasis or Allure before, what muster station were you assigned to? Thank you!

  12. Hello all,

I know this isn't an important question, but since I haven't posted in forever I thought I'd ask a question regarding my 2017 cruise on Harmony of the Seas. My family and I will be staying on Deck 10, in an ocean view balcony and Central Park balcony, staterooms 10206 and 10207 on the port side. Our location is circled in the attached image, courtesy of the Royal Caribbean website. My question is for anybody who has sailed in a Central Park balcony or cabin in this general area on Oasis or Allure, where was your muster station? Just something I'm oddly curious about! Thank you!

P.S. I've sailed on both Oasis and Allure before, but in different locations onboard the ship.

  13. Is muster about 4pm with 4:30 sailaway on Oasis?

Would like to know where muster takes place for cabins toward aft, Deck 10.

    Tx

The last I recall, muster was at 4:30 with sailaway at 5:00. As far as your muster station, if you are aft of the stairwells/ elevators I can say for certain you will be either in the Aqua Theater or main dining room, as I have also sailed on the Allure and my brother and I were assigned to the MDR for our boardwalk balcony on Deck 8, aft as well as my parents across the hall. It really depends on how far at you are located, as I would not be surprised if the Aqua Theater section is closer to the very end, but I really have no clue :D enjoy your cruise! You will love it.

  14. Oh perfect!!! I definitely want to do deck 16 . In 2012 we were on Oasis and there was a secret balcony on deck 12 where our balcony cabin was .the view from there was spectacular however from what I heard that doesn't exist any more since they build cabins there.

I think I've heard of that one! It was in the back right? I've never been there but I've heard all about it! Also, speaking of which, the very back of the ship on the deck 5 jogging track provides for amazing views at night. Very peaceful. I just wish I knew how to get to the helipad on those ships- tried it out on Liberty and it was spectacular. Whatever you choose to do, make the most of it! It's the vacation of a lifetime.

  15. Thanks for giving me this information much appreciated! I would love to be on the pool deck 15 for sail-away. Do you think that will be a better view than the running track deck? which is the quickest way to get to either one? Thanks again

You mean the running track on Deck 5 right? If so, then the pool deck is definitely the best, especially the promenade deck overlooking it (Deck 16). If you muster in the fitness center (stations A1-4 I believe), there is a "secret" staircase from the gym that goes down to the running track on the deck below. From there you would take the track and either go to the nearest stairwell/ elevator lobby (forward) or, to get to the aft lobby, you can either continue along the track or you could walk the Royal Promenade, as it is also on that deck.

If your muster is in the theater, you will either be assigned to the main area on Deck 4 (B1 and B2), or the upper level on Deck 5 (B3 and B4). I know that the main entrance is on Deck 4 and believe it opens out to a central area adjacent to the port and starboard forward lobbies, as well as a stairwell up to the Royal Promenade which you could take to the aft lobby and get to the pool deck that way. I don't remember if there's an entrance on Deck 5 or not but if there is, it should open right out to the lobbies and RP. If not, just take the stairs down to 4 and take the aforementioned route. From either location, simply take the stairs and elevator and you're there! Once you're on 16 (which I recommend), you will find an exterior door on either side opening out to the upper promenade deck, which provides for quite the views.

P.S. if you didn't know, there's a sundeck on Deck 14, forward which is all open, spacious and not only offers breathtaking views but also has built-in binoculars. Sorry for such a long reply, just takes a lot of explanation! Like a map :D safe travels, and enjoy your trip! You will love it, I can guarantee you that. Just got off the Liberty at the beginning of this month and I'm already looking forward to Harmony next April. I hope I was able to help!

  16. More than likely, you will be in either the fitness center (Deck 6) or the main theater (Deck 4). When I sailed the Oasis in 2014, I was on Deck 7, forward, port side and was assigned to station B2 (main theater), if that helps. I have been on both Oasis class ships and know the layout quite well. Where do you plan to go for the sailaway? Just let me know and I'll tell you the best way to get there from either muster station. Enjoy!

  17. Good evening,

I submitted a thread earlier on asking if anybody knew the muster station for boardwalk balcony cabins on the Allure of the Seas. My family and I will be staying in two separate staterooms. Now that we know our specific room numbers, we were wondering if anybody knew the assigned muster station for each, as we hope we won't end up getting split up for the guest assembly drill. Our rooms are both on Deck 8, #8706 (oceanview balcony) and #8707 (boardwalk balcony). If anybody knows the assembly point for these two staterooms, that would be really helpful. Thank you!

  18. I am sailing on the Allure of the Seas in March of 2015 and was wondering which dining options onboard charge extra? Because when my family and I sailed the Oasis of the Seas this past March, we pretty much ate at the Windjammer buffet, main dining room, and a few restaurants in the Royal Promenade. After our return we realized that out of 24 dining options, we barely explored that and would like to expand our options next year. Does anybody have a list of extra-charge dining options? That would be very much appreciated! Thank you.

  19. Those who say 4:30 are correct based on my experience. However we usually report to our station about 15-20 minutes prior but I think the time is nice because it gives guests plenty of time to enjoy the ship and relax before rushing to attend the drill. As far as the conflict with sail away, I do agree it was kind of a hassle (we were in the Opal Theater), however most guests are in the same boat (pun intended :D), and vacations are meant to relax so just take your time and go to the sail away when you're ready. The sailaway lasted about 30 minutes so it's not too much of a hurry, and you still have a pretty good chance of squeezing in a spot somewhere up on deck. I hope this helped!

  20. You may be in different muster stations. We were in an oceanview balcony on deck 9 aft, and we mustered in the aqua theater. My in-laws were in a boardwalk balcony on deck 9, and they mustered in the dining room (on deck 5, I believe).

That was the Adagio dining room right? Are there TV screens in there? Because on the Oasis class, they play a safety video rather than a live demonstration. How do they do it in there? Or do they have LED screens? Or do they just do it live? Just wondering, because like I said, we watched it in the Opal Theater on Allure, and boy did the emergency signal echo in there- had my ears ringing afterwards :D anyway, I was just curious because I don't recall there being screens in the restaurant to watch the presentation on!
