We boarded the allure on 2/23 and we were only asked if we felt sick at all. We had received an email from Rccl alerting us of potential screenings due to the virus so I fully expected delays in getting on board. Didn’t happen got on board in a timely fashion. No talk of corona virus. A little surprising.
No talk of it on Oasis either. I’m glad. I know what’s going on, I don’t want or need constant reminding...

What types of questions did they ask? I'm assuming it was more than the have you had fever in the last 24 hours or traveled to certain regions type of questions.
I don’t remember all of them but definitely where you have traveled in the last 14 days, and if you have any flu like symptoms....

@ckrobyn Hi. Hope you are enjoying the Oasis my Granddaughter and I sail the March 15th itinerary. My son is nervous about my Granddaughter getting sick onboard and wondering what precautions RC has implemented upon embarkation such as health screening? Are they taking temperatures prior to boarding? Appreciate any info provided.
I didn’t see anyone taking temperatures at Port Miami. We were asked about 6 health questions and that was about it. I totally understand the concern, and there is no way to really reassure your son, other than to tell him no one wants to get sick so everyone is being extra careful and diligent with hand washing. There is zero talk of CV onboard that I’ve heard, and everyone is simply enjoying their cruise.

All hail Caesar!
Even on Symphony and Harmony last year they changed over the year. Star Class hasn't been a black card for a while on those ships. They are variables of the same colours you noted.
Maybe he doesn't want you to see him on Cruise Critic. 😂
The good thing is the extra sunscreen will keep your hands from drying and cracking. Mine look like alligator skin right now.
SW Ontario weather today, foggy and 4C. It is so bad that our son's school bus was cancelled. Owen is heart broken.😉
Hey Andrew! 👋
We are heading to Holland House tomorrow, what is the name of your contact there?

Those eye rolls just make my day. I think they are why you need glasses now.
I believe you may be right 🤓

Try the flow rider. It will take your mind off the germ stuff.
Pretty sure you know me reasonably well. Now what was your suggestion?? 🙄

Lucky you - I wish I could hop on another cruise right now and get away from the constant news on the virus. Honestly, I'm surprised all news channels don't have a 24 hour ticker on the screen with new # of cases reported.
I SO do not miss that!! I know what’s out there but tired of the constant reminders....

You are off the north coast of the Dominican Republic. Can you see it off the starboard side of the ship? Carnival Horizon is well ahead of you off tbe starboard bow.
Good morning to my personal GPS 😊
I am currently in the Windjammer and I’m directionally challenged while in here so finding starboard may be a problem lol 😂

Robyn your first post is exactly how I hope to be feeling two weeks from now, my educated brain keeps telling me to turn off the news and tune out but it’s everywhere. I planned this cruise to get away from work stress and now I also can’t wait to have a news free week, there’s a pool lounger waiting for me. I know you travel quite a bit, wondering if you are taking any extra precautions this time around? Enjoy and relax!
That’s not entirely a fair question, because I’m hyper germ alert all the time. That being said, yes, I do find myself doing extra this time around. I completely sanitized my cabin when I first got access to it, and I am constantly either washing or rubbing purell on my hands - more than usual. The good thing is, we all are. I can definitely notice passengers taking many more precautions on this cruise.

Good morning from somewhere between Miami and St. Maarten 😎
The Captain gives regular updates and reports on channel 42, and what I am really enjoying are the detailed weather reports and wave height information. Our weather so far has been really good with sunny skies - however there’s been a fair bit of wind which has made for a bit of motion on the ocean and even Lady O feels it. Personally, I like it - especially at night being rocked to sleep 😊 Both Aqua 80’s shows were canceled last night, and have been rebooked for this evening.
The food has been great to excellent, and we have a really full and fun table in the MDR.
Today is more laziness at sea 😀

Thanks for taking the time to post and keep us all updated. We'll be on Oasis in
April. Enjoy your cruise.
Thanks! I’m posting because I scoured these boards for weeks before this cruise searching for something positive in the midst of CV taking over all media - so that’s the theme of this thread - life goes on, on land and at sea 😀

Corn Syrup and Guar Gum.... my two favorite foods....😒 Artificial flavor is probably the healthiest chemical in the mix.
Good thing I don’t eat any sugar - especially corn syrup 😳

First off, you're awesome for keeping the cruise and abandoning all these overblown fears. DW is going on a school trip to Japan in a few weeks as a chaperone and looking fwd to it.
On that ice cream - dump some of it in a cup, add ice, then hot coffee. Free fancy coffee drink! Great stuff too!
I’m just happy to be purposely avoiding the news for the next 7 days! I like your fancy coffee idea 👍🏻

I'm very new to Cruise Critic so I hope I'm posting correctly to ask my question.
I have read that in 2020 Oasis and Quantum class ships changed the colors of the sea pass cards. Does anyone know what colors the Sea, Sky and Star class cards are now on the Oasis?
Here’s my seapass card

No.

I've never brought any of those things along.
That’s because you have a super immune system given your line of work 😉

When I was on a couple weeks ago the only thing I saw staff serving for folks that was self serve was the soft serve ice cream at the ice cream stations by the pools on deck 15. Was actually really glad to see this. 😃Is it ice cream or yogurt? Was it ever yogurt or is my memory just that foggy?

We board Oasis on Sunday, as you make your way off. Leave a little RUM for me please. Southern Ontario is grey and overcast with rain. Funny how the snow and cold has changed for this coming week. We fly Saturday, and looking forward to some R&R.
Enjoy, travel safe, and have a great time. 😎 🥃 🍸🍷
I don’t drink rum, so you’re good 😃
Managed to find Clamato so all good in my world too! 🇨🇦
