  1. No seaweed last week when I was there. They had a lot of staff members available so it's possible they have a morning clean up crew. While it was a long walk from the front desk to the actual beach. Attached a couple more pictures, I left my camera on our cabana on the beach so it wouldn't get wet. It was a great day for us.

  2. I just returned from the Carnival Paradise Sailing. We docked in Cozumel from 11:00A.M to 8:00P.M I pre booked the Occidental Grand Day Pass with http://www.cozumeldaypasses.com for $60 per person. Docked at the Puerta Maya pier and it was about a 12 minute taxi ride from the pier. Taxi rate was $8 per person. The Occidental Grand was a nice choice to avoid the overly crowded Cruise Beach Excursions. Check in was a breeze, had to present my printed confirmation, pay my balance and present an ID to show I was over 18 for drinks. Then I followed the sidewalk path down to the pools and beach areas. The first pool I came to was more of an adults only, there was a very large Iguana just lounging under the palm tree. The resort owner said they have a Reserved Natural Area which was nice to walk through on the way down to the beach. The Beach pool had a DJ, restaurant, and beach side Cabanas that were first come first use, I used the beach cabana for the day. It was perfect. Beach side and pool side service and drinks were served in fun coconuts. Lunch was served inside the restaurant on the beach, nice fresh selection. They have snorkeling equipment, and other equipment like kayaks and windsurfing. The waves were high so I didn't chance trying something new. The Beach was really nice, no rocks, very soft sand. I would recommend and do this excursion again.

  3. Hello,

My wife and I will be in Cozumel in late March. Are there any high end luxury resorts or beach clubs that offer day passes?

    Thank you!

I just came back from the Carnival Paradise and spent the day at the Occidental Grand. Booked in advance with http://www.cozumeldaypasses.com and the resort was perfect. Beautiful grounds, pools, beaches, and Iguanas just lounging in the shady palm tree by the pool. They have a buffet style lunch at a restaurant on the beach, drinks are readily available. Poolside and Beach Side service. It was $60 for the day. About a 15 minute ride from the Puerta Maya port. Taxi rate is about $8 per person one way. When you're ready to head back to the ship just let the front desk know and they'll call you a taxi.

  4. Thanks for the help everyone. I did go ahead and book with Cozumel Day Passes, I'll let you all know how it goes when I get back. Their customer service was very friendly and they were US Based so I like knowing my credit card information is not being used international. Leaving Saturday, if anyone has any questions you'd like me to find out about while there. I'll be docked at Puerta Maya. Wish me luck, and I'll let you all know how it goes when I get back.

  5. I went ahead and booked the Occidental Grand with CozumelDayPasses.com very friendly customer service and I liked that they were US Based. I'll give a great review when I get back next Thursday. If anyone has any questions about the resort I'd be happy to check while I'm there.

  6. Anyone have any information on the Occidental Grand Day Passes in Cozumel. Leaving Saturday on Carnival and was hoping to spend the day here. Very affordable for an All Inclusive Resort away from the crowd. Hope it's as nice as it looks. First time in Cozumel, so I was just hoping for some information on how far from the pier and how much a taxi might cost, do the taxi drivers accept US currency? Thanks in advance.

  7. The transfers were very easy to find. There was really good directions on my printed day pass on where to meet the driver. They were very friendly and waiting with a RFD sign. Checked us in and we got on the air conditioned motor coach. The transportation company was JTL they are located on site at the hotel so it made me feel more at ease to know they weren't just leaving us there and wondering if they were coming back. Leaving the resort 2 hours before the ship scheduled departure time was great that no one felt rushed and we had time to leisurely shop at the pier before getting on the ship. It was very well organized, I like the RFD theory and always tell my friends to check it out when they are cruising.

  8. I'm heading to Cozumel next week on the Carnival Paradise. I see everyone heading to Mr. Sancho's. So I know I do Not want to go there. That sounds like a busy, active, and crowded place. That's what I want to stay away from, I want peace, quiet, and relaxation. I'm late booking but hoping to find some advice on the Melia Vacation Club in Cozumel. Has anyone spent a day here off the cruise ship, is it far from the Puerta Maya port? Anyone know how much a taxi would be?

  9. Hilton Rose Hall is beautiful, but I am not sure if Hilton Rose Hall is offered from Ocho Rio's port, if that is where you are docked. If you are docked in Ocho Rio's I would recommend either the Jewel Dunn or the Jewel Paradise. Both are adults only all inclusive Beautiful resorts with Many different restaurant options to enjoy. Nice beach areas and the Jewel Paradise has a waterslide without younger children to watch out for. I've been to both through Resort for a Day. No bad choice, Jewel Dunns River has amazing views, and is just a 12 minute ride from the Ocho Rios Pier. Resort for a Day includes transfers from the pier. Great service and it's based in the US so my credit cards wasn't used internationally.

  10. I visited Jewel Runaway in August of 2015 off Royal Caribbean cruise that was docked in Falmouth. Booked day passes with Resort for a Day because they had a great rate, they included roundtrip transfers. The waterpark was really nice and bigger than I expected. There was plenty of floating devices for everyone. Plenty of seating also. Food was pretty good, we ate lunch in the buffet restaurant, and the kids liked the waterpark grill that served pizza, nachos, and fries. They have a really nice beach there also with a lot of activities included. I would go to that resort again next time I'm docked in Falmouth. photo.php?fbid=918199271549510&set=a.981322388570531&type=3&theater

  11. We used Bahamas Day Pass back in November and it saved us over $300 for our family of 5. Highly recommend it. Check in is quick and easy as long as you have your printed passes, and your Cruise ID's out and ready.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you are going to tour the resort and The Dig Aquarium, is that The Dig Aquarium is located in the Royal Towers. You would have to walk back to the Coral Towers to pick up your wristbands at the Aquaventure desk, and then walk all the way back past the Royal Towers and out to the waterpark. You can save time by wearing a swim cover up over your swimsuit so no need to change, and have a credit card ready to rent a locker. (Pricing varies upon size from $10-$12-$15) Highly recommend watershoes (swimoutlet.com for $1-$2).

When you're finished and ready to head back, you can easily find taxi's outside of The Cove Atlantis, or the Royal Towers main entrance. It does usually take longer to get back because of traffic and the taxi's have to go down past the ships and turn around to come back up.

  12. The reason I booked with Resort for a Day instead of the Comfort Suites directly was because Resort for a Day was a lower price and they did not charge me any additional taxes or resort fees. Another point for them was that if my cruise ship did not dock in Nassau, for any reason it was fully refundable. Directly with Comfort Suites I had to cancel 72 hours in advance for a refund.

  13. I cruised to Nassau 3 times last year and used Resort for a Day once for the Comfort Suites Paradise Island which worked out perfect for my family of 4 while we were in port from 8a - 11:59p.m we were able to check in at the Comfort Suites as soon as the ship docked and they gave us an ID card to take to the Atlantis Royal Towers to pick up our Aquaventure wristbands. The Atlantis is just steps away from the Comfort Suites. This option worked well for us to have the private room to freshen up and enjoy the private nightlife offered.

The last two times I visited we were only in port from 9a to 5p so we didn't really need a room. We purchased our passes from Bahamas Day Pass dot com and it was about $50 less per person and we arrived about an hour before the cruise line did so we were able to enjoy the waterpark more.

Either choice the Taxi rate was just $4 per person one way and it's about a 10 minute ride.

  14. I too am looking for a nice quiet relaxing day while in port at Grand Cayman. So far I've only found the Westin Grand Cayman through Resort for a Day, which looks perfect, but I've not booked it yet if there might be another option. I would rather pay a few dollars to feel welcome at the Resort. Any information on either pass would be wonderful. We're sailing next month.

  15. Would a private resort, like the Westin Grand Cayman be overly crowded? I don't mind spending a little extra to avoid the crowds. I like peace, quiet, and a shady tree to relax and read a book while watching the waves.

  16. It's a quick 10 minute taxi ride from the pier to the Atlantis at about $4 per person one way. Drivers will be waiting outside the pier, and may ask you to ride along with another couple to make the trip worth it.

  17. I agree! Resortforaday dot com made this excursion affordable and worry free. We booked the Comfort Suites Paradise Island with them, great price no additional taxes or resort fees, and we were able to check in as soon as the ship docked. Highly recommend them. Love their customer service and it was a quick and easy process.

  18. I know many cruisers think that they'll just use their own camera to snap a picture and the Cast Crew are wonderful about using your own personal camera to capture that photo, but I will say there is something about those Glossy 8x10 with Disney cruise border that is WELL worth it. We walked off the ship with over 100 photos so it cost less than $1 a photo.

  19. I have spent the day in port at the Jewel Paradise Cove back in August and LOVED IT! After visiting I actually started planning a trip with my sisters to go back and spend a few days there. I booked with Resortforaday dot com and they included transfers which were great and easy to find with their driver holding a sign at the Falmouth pier, the ride to the Jewel Paradise Cove was beautiful and the driver was very friendly. Ocean on one side and beautiful hills on the other. Once at the resort it was easy to check in and the staff wsa all very friendly and welcoming. Beach was clean, clear, and beautiful. They even had a waterslide to enjoy. Food options were great and they have a grotto pool. It was nice that it was not crowded and I was on a trip without my children so it was great to enjoy the serenity of the resort being Adults Only. Cannot wait to go back!
