  1. Thanks, Jules.

I can't make my way through all the courses in the steakhouse let alone with multiple choices. My problem is simply deciding what to get. I've only done them 3 times (Glory, Conquest & Splendor). First time on Glory I got the gigantic 24 oz Porterhouse which is no longer on the menu. Past two Novembers, I've gotten the surf and turf which was very good both times.

I don't eat at the "regular" buffet unless I walk by and something catches my eye (had some really good jerk chicken and rice on this past Conquest cruise). On ships with the Fish & Chips, I either have that or a turkey & swiss from the deli.

Does Splendor's burrito bar offer the same things as Blue Iguana? We did get a burrito on embarkation day last November. I hope so! I loved the chicken & shrimp burritos on Conquest!

Yeah, those 1A/ph cabins are great except for the wave banging. I'd thought maybe it would be better in the Caribbean than out in the Atlantic. I guess it just depends on the seas on any given sailing. Now that I've moved cabins, I'm concerned with the spa cabin being so high and so far forward. Good thing I go prepared with Ginger Root, meclizine AND wrist bands! ;)

That's one of the nice things about Bermuda - not having to worry about getting back to the ship each evening and being to eat dinner and go back out again. We only had 1-1/2 days there on Glory, which wasn't nearly enough time and which is why I booked Splendor, even though the prices were outrageous. I booked at about $1,338 for a solo. When I gave up my 1A ph cabin a month ago, it appeared back in the inventory at $2,198. For 7 nights! Sailing is no longer showing up at all, so it must be sold out.

I guess I'm one of the few people who doesn't hate the Playlist shows. I quit going to shows many cruises ago when I couldn't take listening to off-key singing. I only re-started when Ticket to Ride came along (that's my generation, folks). I think the performers have been quite good on the past several sailings.

Joelle - San Juan is one of my most favorite places ever. My past two November cruises were San Juan to Miami (Conquest and Splendor). On Conquest, I was solo and went down 2 nights early and stayed in OSJ. Last year, we went a day early and stayed in the Condado area. I have lots of info and pics in those review threads. It's a beautiful old city. I love to just wander around. This past Conquest sailing, we were only there until 2, which just isn't enough time. Still, walked around, had 2nd breakfast at Cafeteria Mallorca, more walking, and lunch and mojitos at Punto de Vista. Much info on the San Juan board.

Thank you... I will definitely look it up!

  2. The Port of Miami Holiday Inn is a wonderful hotel in a great location. It's a $12 flat fee cab ride to the Cruise Port. We have stayed there pre cruising several times.

There is an outside type mall with restaurants, stores, and entertainment across the street. We paid $190 plus tax for Nov

  3. I've used the glue dots in scrape booking. AND THEY ARE STICKY!!! And you promise they come off easy peasy????

Yes they come off....the command poster strips come of even easier. Honestly I haven't done a lot of decorating, but I would like to do something fun this time around!

Plus it's so much easier trying to find your room after a few adult beverages! Lol!

  4. I did a search and found an old post that said they are NOT magnetic.

Seems like sticky putty is recommended.

    Have fun! :)

Thank you! I want to do something fun to our door. I was hoping it was magnetic... Oh well

  5. You can buy wristbands on the casino floor for Atlantis. It's cheaper. I would not recommend eating at Atlantis...go to a restaurant outside of there...

I did the Atlantis thing 2 times. You will love the waterpark!! It is the best!

I do recommend renting a locker for your valuables.. I think it was $20 for the day. I have seen theft (from the employees) first hand.

  6. I think it is different on all ships....

One cruise we did 6pm ...once we were 20 min late and they made us wait an additional 45 min, with a 9 yr old.

2nd time we did ATD and we never waited. It was awesome!

I only preferred ATD because I don't like time schedules when on vacation.

  7. On most ships the the aft pool is quieter, kinda more adultish. I don't recall any music at the aft pool, and definitely no entertainment. It's not an adults only pool, but that's the general vibe that you'll get there and there are considerably less children.

The main pool will have music from the early morning until after sunset, and several entertainment options (ice carving, hairy chest contest, etc).

Thank you Ryan. I like the entertainment but when I'm away with just my husband, (and no kids), I rather not be in a pool swarming with kids. I am hoping because school is in session, that there is not a lot of them.

  8. Aft pool or Main pool question?? In Nov we will be on the Splendor. This will be my first 7 night cruise, and on a bigger ship. All the other ships had one pool. Which is more fun for adults? The Aft or the Main? Does the AFT have music and entertainment? Any input would be helpful. Thanks!![emoji41]

  9. I do know that last year on the Ecstasy, I got Cheers as soon as I got on the ship, that any drink I had a tax was charged to our account until we reach international waters. I only remember this because my bill has a lot of .15 .13 charges...

  10. Has anyone done any spa treatments while at the Dreams resort?? If so what are the prices (couples massage). Thanks

The resort is owned by the AMR Resorts. They own also Secrets, (where we usually stay), Dreams, NOW, Zoetry, and Breathless. They are all amazing and their service is impeccable!! They are pricy, but so worth it.

The Spa there is so worth it! The prices are about $180 U.S.

When you stay at the resort they give you coupons to use... I normally pay about $140

  11. So how safe would the people to people tour be?

Me personally would not trust anyone there unless I got to know them first. I went on a booze cruise on my honeymoon with now my ex, and he had a smoke with some of them on the . They laced his smoke.....it was scary.

But on another trip there, again with now my ex, we made friends with some locals who got us into the Atlantis, (before you could buy excursions), with fake names and room numbers. We had all access to the grounds and hotel, just like a paying guest. It was definitely in our favor, but really it was shady.

Bahamas is not what it use to be. Even the straw market is awful. They use to have such beautiful handmade gifts to purchase, now most is junk made in China and it is also a pick pocket hot spot.

  12. I cant seem to find where to purchase them. The atlantis site says:

"As of March 1, 2015, access to Atlantis, Paradise Island’s Aquaventure and other resort facilities will be restricted in order to enhance our guest experience. Atlantis day passes including Aquaventure, the resort’s 141-acre water park, will be exclusive to guests of Atlantis, its affiliated partners, and residents of The Bahamas. Atlantis resort guests will continue to receive complimentary access to Aquaventure while day pass offerings will only be available for purchase through Atlantis’ specific partners and to local residents. Individuals under 18 years old must be accompanied by an Adult 18 years or older."

I wish i knew who the partners are as it doesnt seem like i can purchase them.

Go onto the casino floor through the main entrance. You will see a kiosk kind of customer service desk smack dead in the middle. You can purchase day passes there. They are cheaper than the ship. Also, you can call the Atlantis directly to get the pricing.

  13. I was at STYX last Oct. did not get vip due to I didn't realize I could, then they were sold out. I heard the same thing about people who did get them, they said you were rushed. Because my excursion got back late. My husband and I got to the theater late, not many seats left.... We sat balcony and still could see great. It was a fantastic concert. 14. Comfort suites is good, but they give you 4 wristbands per room. I would check to see if you can just buy the Atlantis Tour ticket. Last time I think I saw around $30 pp for that, but could be wrong.
