  1. Mostly bar upgrades. Alchemy bar and the Sports Bar also 2 pool bats Blue Iguana and Red Frog. Also no Blue Iguana Cantina on Splendor. No Guys Burger joint. Splendor does have some good food options. Don't miss the rotisserie chicken up the stairs in the buffet area.

Ok so it's just the two bars and the burger place. So it's not like upgrades in cabins or amenities?

Carnival has decent food and as long as there are cocktails, I'm good! So I don't think I'm missing out then! Thanks everyone for your help!

  2. I did this with my daughter when she was 16 and two of her friends the same age. They loved Miami! We stayed the day before at the Holiday Inn across from Bayside Marina. We took a cab to South Beach... They loved the stores. Then we relaxed on the beach for a few hours. After we went back to the hotel, changed, then went to Bayside. There was so much going on there. Lots of stores, entertainment for under 21, and places to eat.

I've never been to Fort Lauderdale, so I can't compare.

  3. All, as long as your last name is the same as your children, they will not ask. If its different, like mine was a few years ago, (divorced and remarried), then yes. It's unfortunate that the travel agency didn't tell me if I had full custody, I had to bring my notarized custody docs with me. Thank God my daughter was 15 and they asked her a few questions that matched what I had said, then they let us on.

My husband had to give a notarized note to his ex last year for her to taker their son on a cruise. Again, her last name is different than my step son.

  4. Look up Blue Lagoon Island. It's a great excursion which is all inclusive and has great snorkeling. One side of the island has Dolphins as well.

The Atlantis is awesome but so expensive... Been there on and off the boat. The cheapest way to enjoy the Atlantis is go to the casino floor to buy a wristband. This will also get you use to their beach towels. Best water park there ever!

I would not recommend going outside the resorts. Nassau is not that safe anymore. I have seen personally some local Atlantis employees steel from someone's beach chair and random locals trying to sell me drugs.

  5. I don't know if this help those who watch, but I like treats when I'm on vacation, so I order sugar free. My last two cruises I ate good and came home weighing the same. My husband and I also never use the elevators... Those steps are great exercise (besides the gym).

I would love to know the nutritional facts as well though... We count also

  6. Funny I took no pics of the actual balcony... It was a decent size for two people. We had two chairs and a table. I thought the room size was decent as well. There are no couches, but we didn't spend much time in there anyway.

  7. Look on trip advisor for private walking tours. I love Lucca... My mother stays for a month every year there. Forte dei Marmi is a wonderful beach and shopping community. Not sure how far your port is from there.

  8. Yes it may deserve end on the ship... Last Oct on the Ecstasy, we did self assist and it was not by deck. It was a pain with luggage but got us faster to our 2nd leg of our vacation faster!

Depends on the not deserve end! Sorry...iPads! Lol

  9. In Nassau go to the Atlantis! They have the best water park!! Get your tickets from the casino floor at the Atlantis...much cheaper!!! Also, spend the money and put your valuables in a locker while on the water rides... The locals are shady, I have been there 4 times and have seen shady stuff!

If you can bring sandwiches from the ship, I would do that... The food there is very expensive.

  10. You bet.

We had a balcony (6355), and the room itself was great, BUT, it's not a good room if you retire early...it's right over the band's stage in the casino, and you can hear every note. They usually started as we were getting ready for dinner – we knew their entire song list by the end of the cruise – and they didn't stop until about 11pm or so. For us, it wasn't a problem, since we tend to stay out until about midnight.

We are in 8281, so I'm guessing since higher up it should be ok? Although we stay out at night as well.

    Thanks Again for your help!!

  11. Here's a good tip:

The forward outside observation areas can only be reached by going inside and walking all the way forward on decks 6 and 7 (for areas below the bridge), and decks 9 and 10 (for areas above the bridge). These are fantastic vantage points when entering or leaving a point...and hardly no one knows about them. When you get to the forward end of each deck, there are wooden doors that lead to outside.

Thank you!!! I will add to my notes! How are the balcony rooms?
