  1. I'm sorry for your loss. Prayers to all of the family and friends.
  2. We plan to drive early to Port Canaveral March 2nd for our cruise on the Mardi Gras. We will park in the garage parking at Terminal 3. The Port website states the parking will not open until 10AM? We parked there early in 2022 for an earlier cruise on the Mardi Gras. We expect to be there 8;30 to 9:00 am and we will have priority boarding. Has anyone recently parked there early similar to our situation? We realize that we need to check on the ships arrival as early disembarkation will be needed so parking spaces open up. Thanks
  3. So glad Lee slowed, shifted east, and weakened. Ya all have a happy on-time return and will make it out without a return scratch!
  4. Should have left hours ago. Fasten your seat belts for 12-to-20-foot seas at a min on Friday - will get rough and hoping ya all get home Sat. Once you're in the bay you got this. stormsurging.com shows the wave predication with a 180-hour forecast.
  5. Fasten your seat belt - praying you all get home on time. Hoping they bring you home a day early. Check out stormsurfing.com and advance to your hour on Friday. Huge waves. We want you home but safe. Come home a day early!!!! www.stormsuring.com
  6. Try stormingsurfing.com this shows the wave forecast up to 180 hours forward. Great app we use for when we plan to cruise as we are next week.
  7. This is the forecast 6 days from today - how are they going to get you home? It's been this way for several days. Our friend is on this cruise and suppose to sail with us on Sept 17th out of Miami. I'm praying!!!
  8. We will visit St Maarten on the Celebration Sept 21st (23) fairly early in the am. Would like a beach that is family friendly, a bar for a few drinks and snacks. Would like to avoid the nudity but understand topless is difficult to control. I cannot walk far, so we will take a taxi to and from. We'll need umbrella and chairs. We have not visited the island for the past 10-15 years so not sure what to expect. We have visited Orient Beach n the past. But I'm thinking in my age I may want to be closer to the ship. I wouldn't be interested with Maho due to the loud aircraft noise. Comments appreciated. Thank you!
  9. No ti is free of charge However, you can rent umbrellas, floats, etc.....
  10. Pick what makes sense or get the TBD if you can. We were on board the Celebration for the Nov 27th sailing (balc0ny 10422) and rebooked her during that sailing while lounging on the Lido deck with the Cyber deal sale. We ended up picking the inside room guarantee ss TBD. Well they assigned it within 2 weeks. Inside Havana room - so now we get to try those perks but don't consider that much ont he Excel ships. We cruised the Mardi Gras Twice last year with Balcon rooms. One was on the Lido deck just forward of the pool and the Other, again deck 10 - 10412. The 2 deck 10 balcony (look at the PDF Ship Deck Plan) had the beds closest to the window as they alternate every other room. It depends which side the door is on. But the balcony is longer (depth wise). Again, you can figure from the deck plans - it is worth planning. On deck you could see the balconies below and forward as the lower floors extend wider by the ships design. On the Mardi Gras we used the balconies a bit more, but never used it on the Celebration. In the past, my wife and I used to book inside rooms all the time. We just sleep, change, and clean in them. We're out and bout except for a quick nap before diiner. So, save the money and get whatever you want. I see nothing wrong with inside rooms - but for 2 people only. Going forward my wife and I will adopt back to the inside rooms. We do like adjusting our inside room to the Lido deck forward for ease to the pools, snacks / food, ice, etc.... As far as the elevators they are what they are small, crowded, and queued up with many that have no elevator etiquette m- some very rude. I felt for the elderly with scooters and would help them where I could. Enough of that and don't let that get to you - ignore the AZZES. Enjoy your cruise - you'll love so much to do and places to see shoes and eat. Just get to shows 30 mins in advance and you'll be fine. Book your restaurants in advance before boarding and pay - that way you're locked in as they sell out. The Teppanyaki Grill is the best - - they only have 3 tables that seats 8 - 3 dinner times per night (5:30-7-9:30 - think that was the times). We pick 5:30. Formal night is Monday (Fillet Migon) and Friday (lobster and prime rib) The last thing, we are huge Eden Parker fans as he is the Piano Bar Player we have cruised with and this is our 5th cruise with him in 2 years. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
  11. will avoid that ship for sure. We always scope out a ship before booking. We've been on all the class ships that Carnival has. We love all of the extras the big ship brings but still lvoe the Horizon and the other size that Glory - Breeze - Freedom are - I think that was the Conquest class. Must be that or above anymore for s. To each to their won - we get it. It's what we make it, not the others that we just ignore! LOL. Merry Christmas!!! Don't drink and drive, but by all means drink and cruise!
  12. Thank you all. Sorted figured that and the Havana side pool is terribly small for what they are trying to sell. Gald our Havana room is a freebie "to be assigned" from the cyber deal. I wouldn't want to pay the upcharge for this perk on this class ship. The Horizon Havana is much better! Nonetheless - we will have a great cruise!!! Can't beat Eden Parker and the PBE!
  13. Are the Aft Patio pols on Deck 8 public or part of the Havana Package? Are there built in chairs in the aft pool? We've been on this class ship 3 times and haven't ventured there, but we have a Havana room this trip as part of the "TBD" assigned room Cyber deal. Thanks Carnival!
  14. Glass of wine of soda - that's it....you could get another glass of wine if you push it, buy we skipped. Not worth it or the cause. JST SAYING> Carnival could do better but they don't have a room big enough unless they take over a restaurant imo. We're back on Jan 8th and may reconsider. We were worn out that dya and cleaned up and rested in the room for that hour.
  15. According to Carnival we were allowed to use it on a future booking. So, we will use ours on our 27th cruise. We could have used it on the 26th, but 25% off of a low rate for OBC wasn't worth it. We'll wait for the higher fare cruise. So, you should be fine. you can call them to ask too. That's what we did.
  16. Well We just came off our milestone cruise (25th) Nov. 27th. Needless to say, other than receiving the "white" "Milestone" sign and sail card, it meant nothing. Not one person nor anything else from Carnival said or did anything different. We are thankful we didn't have any expectations set and made the best of our cruise, as always and had fun. Yes, we get 25% OBC on our best cruise, but you must do that within 30 days. So, we'll save that for our 27th cruise as we are back on the Celebration Jan. 8th. A few more to go for Diamond but they'll change the rules.
  17. Smaller laundry bags but you get 3 free. We sent one to two at a time. It's free so don't look a gift horse in the mouth - meaning they may wash with others - you'll never know. We had no issues for the many times we've used them. Even for ironing. they'll usually come back same day if you get them out earlier in the day. They'll be folded - some may be hung. Again, never had an issue and always send it out to save time!
  18. Thanks all.....Kind of what I expected to hear....on the Disney note, we went to the plays (Aladdin) and afterwards waited for the fireworks, but not much after that. Disney was very nice and did well during the day. In our HAL days (total 6 cruises with them) they were very nice too..... We started on the Carnival Festivale and migrated up the HAL, followed by others too.....
  19. So for many years we sailed mostly on Carnival. We are in out mid 60's and enjoy doing whatever we want and a fun crowd that is mixed. Carnival has piano bar - showtime - and the punchliner, plus casino's. We sailed the HAL line in the 80's on the old Veedam Volendam and once Rotterdam. At that time is was no tipping and a bit stuffing meaning you had to dress better than the carnival line. We end on a disney cruise a year ago, and were a bit bored after the main play with not much to do. My concern is that HAL may be dull and not entertaining like Carnival. We are considering trying HAL, but wanted to hear from others - just not all out HAL followers, but those that have varied on other lines too. Please let us know your thoughts. Thank you!
  20. Yes but my concern is being immobile with a scooter. Hence wanting to know ahead of time. My wife has been my hero tending to all the things I use to do. So grateful and humble. Thank you all for all and any info.
  21. Help We are in new territory with the Celebration's second US based cruise Nov 27th. My wife will drop me at the curb with my scooter and then park. Is there a parking lot designated for the Celebration. Our concern is that many cruise go out on Saturday and parking may be full at the terminal. I read that they were planning a terminal F for the ship, but haven't seen anything posted if the terminal was completed? Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.
