In an emergency such as lifeboat evacuation, would your father require mobility assistance? If not, don’t fill out the form. If he will and you don’t fill out a form, a crew member will not be allocated to assist your father.

Won’t you receive the port taxes/fees for Morocco as a refund or onboard credit? I don’t believe any other refund should be expected unless they cut the cruises short.

She did not lose her suite as her husband is still in it. She is also not in an inside cabin but is in a ocean view. She will also receive credit for all of her days in isolation. It’s wonderful she can forward with her symptoms, not everyone is as ethical.

I would take the train to Newark, much closer than NYC and with less traffic to the pier.

I wonder if the Captain announced there is COVID onboard (and this will always be the case even if non detected), would Seabourn passengers actually go back to wearing masks and being socially distant? Anyone worried about their health because of risk factors should already be wearing masks. COVID infections are increasing in many areas of the U.S. so cases on any ships are likely.

We always find luggage assistance at baggage claim outside of the U.S. Haven’t seen any skycaps in Baggage claim in Dulles, BWI, SFO, Tampa or Miami. At least when taking Amtrak to NYC they always have great red caps to help with your luggage and even get you a taxi. Works well for catching a cruise from the New York area.

In their photo outside the terminal you will see “0” skycaps. We have found the same number at Dulles and BWI. Believe they are having severe staffing shortages and few folks want to work for low hourly wages and meager tips.

Bad timing if this is true. The transatlantic sailings tend to have the most Zenith passengers so the Retreat lounges will be super crowded. Social distancing will be impossible.

New York Times reported today that Carnival Cruise Lines just had their biggest week for booking in history. Don’t know if that is across all their brands. They said the week showed a double digit increase from the previous 7 day record. Don’t think the cruise lines are dead in the water right now.

I know she was built in 2020, obviously at a very bad time because of the Pandemic. I wasn’t aware there was an even newer one. Seabourn had a new ship, the Venture, whose launch was really delayed by the pandemic. She was supposed to be sailing in Spring 2021, then Spring 2022 and now her maiden voyage is scheduled for July. We are scheduled to take her in September.

According to the ABC news last night, COVID infection rates are again rising. Very young children are increasingly being hospitalized. They need to approve the vaccine for infants so we don’t have young children in the hospital for COVID. The vaccines and boosters will at least keep most people from getting so ill. I imagine we will be living with evolving rules for the rest of the year.

I thought the Silver Moon is a new ship. They always sail with Non Revenue passengers to publicize a new ship. Guess if you count the number of passengers traveling free on Casino passes, we would be surprised at the number of no fare passengers. The Blue Chip program on the Royal brands finances a number of the “free” cabins and Silver Seas is under that umbrella company.

Folks who dislike Seabourn and don’t like their service should try another line. There is no sense to cruise on a line that does not cater to you and meet your expectations. There are other cruise lines or vacations to choose from.

After having such a long dispute with Celebrity why would you even want to sail with them??!!
There are other cruise lines so pick one under the Carnival umbrella, not under the Royal umbrella. The company didn’t perform to your expectations regarding your refund, why give them a second chance?

I have friends and relatives with severe food allergies. They don’t eat in restaurants, fly or take cruises because hospitalization is required if they are exposed to their allergen. They always carry epi pens and carry their own home prepared food if they are visiting friends at meal times. Your allergy must be less serious as you cruise and count on others to safeguard your life. Life is too precious to risk it by trusting others to provide food free from allergens.

Might want to check the national weather. There is a very strong line of severe thunderstorms with tornados. This is likely causing flight cancellations.

There is hotel availability around the airports even during spring break. Don’t expect a hotel on the beach with a balcony and you can find a room for $250.

Not surprised at all, many wives decide to stay with their husbands. There were many complaints when wives or traveling companions were not given the option.

If you paid for your Business Class tickets and need to take the later flight you should be okay. The passengers who were upgraded don’t have a right to keep a business class seat if a paid business class passenger needs the seat. Many times 90% of those in Business/First are upgraded. When we flew home on United from Europe only 11 out of 48 passengers had actually purchased a Business/First ticket.

We had no problem extending the 25 minute massage on our cruise in February. We also had our choice of times.
-
Any weather problem would impact all flights from a given airport. Winter weather, just yesterday, caused a thousand cancellations. The airports just shut down so later flights were not departing either. If you like to gamble, and obviously many do, keep flying in the day of your cruise.

What about a school I’d. Kids in our area all have photo ids.

I am happy that Seabourn has put safety first as the Encore is not the QM2 and would not easily weather this storm. Weather events have often totally redirected cruises. Do you remember when there were several hurricanes in the Caribbean and ships ended up cruising to New England and Canada? At least your packed clothing is still appropriate.

It rains pretty much every day on the Hilo side of Hawaii. Be sure to bring a light poncho as umbrellas are awkward when you are touring. The paths can be slippery so bring good walking shoes. Wouldn’t plan a beach day in that area.

I also initially had no idea OP was a male. Many of us don’t follow cruise critic to the extent we would know whether OP was a male or female. I was corrected but initially assumed the jet blue pilot was a female with a husband still in the suite. We now know the OP is a male with a husband.
