  1. We got our vaccinations in our home state, Maryland.   We received a CDC certificate with our names/birth dates and the lot number of our Moderna vaccine.   We were called back for the second vaccine and it was added to the card.   We keep it with our passport and have used it for travel to Hawaii and to Europe.   We passed through Germany and they very, very carefully examined our vaccine cards with a magnifier.   At the time they were only accepting you if your vaccine was no older than six months.    Glad we will have the booster before we travel to Europe, hopefully in December.    The vaccine miraculously appeared in my Health Records when I visited my doctor so they must have a way to input the record into a state system.

  2. With the lowest economy fare it’s unlikely you will be upgraded.    You will get your seat after United upgrades the very frequent flyers to Business or Premium Economy  seats.   There is no First Class on United for flights within the U.S., Hawaii or Europe.   It is all what they call Business/First.   On flights less than four hours they will serve drinks and come through the cabin with a basket of snacks (Pretzels, Chips, Cookies and the like).   If you are hungry bring a meal onboard.   It’s not COVID related, it’s how they handle business class passengers.   Does Delta actually have three classes on their aircraft?

  3. Actually you will find most folks dressing up for the evening chic evening in all restaurants, except maybe for the Oceanview.   Folks wear their best that evening.   A Navy or other sports code would be sufficient.   If you can’t wear or tolerate packing a tie, you’d be fine without it.   Polo shirts are better for the other evenings.

  4. Can’t believe the poster who stated there was no PCR testing in Washington, DC!   There certainly are many sites not even including the two airports.   Just go to the DC government site, they are encouraging everyone to get tested and vaccinated, sometimes at the same site.  We received the rapid PCR test, expensive but worth it with results within 30 minutes.   I would not return your self test kit, take it with you or keep it at home.   The Pandemic is not over.

  5. We did not receive a bottle of Perrier Jouet in our Royal Suite.   I don’t even believe it was French Champagne.    We did receive a bottle of pink Perrier Jouet from our Travel Agent several times but there was a card from him accompanying it.

  6. Our insurance Federal BC/BS does not pay for travel related COVID testing.    We could lie and say we had symptoms.   The government is still advising against cruise travel and travel to many countries.   We have paid out of pocket for any testing required for leisure travel.

  7. I don’t find longer walks on the QM2.  Doesn’t she still have three or four elevator banks?   When you look at her plan of the day the location of events is given by deck and elevator bank.

  8. They might provide testing if you were staying in the same ship, but with three different ships and obviously three different booking numbers, that is. Rey challenging.  Doing this during a pandemic will be so difficult, didn’t you have another choice fora vacation?

  9. Yes on Celebrity many passengers walk with their drinks.   They also frequently spill the drink so you have to be very careful walking or you will slip on the spilled liquids.   You may also have the wonderful experience of a drink spilled in your clothes, shoes, etc. on the elevator.   We now leave the elevator if someone enters with drinks and/or food.
