  1. I used the 20% off on logo merchandise. I had printed the page of coupons. The cashier clipped that one out and kept it.
  2. I got 20% more value from my OBC using it. So, yes.
  3. I get the same OBC with my $1,100 investment as you get with your $7,500 investment. Sell 700 share while it still has value. Or do you expect it to increase in value? I can’t understand why.
  4. Maybe it’s already there. Just a thought.
  5. Meanwhile, I wouldn’t be buying more than the 100 shares necessary to get OBC.
  6. I obtained a coupon book through an online link. I used the 20% off at the Princess logo shop on the CB with minimal issues. At no point was the legitimacy of the coupon questioned.
  7. Lovely card. At one point I thought about collecting Hampton Inn key cards with the state on them. But soon realized I would end up with a collection of a gazillion from Ohio and not too many other places. Now I am happy to use my phone to open hotel room doors.
  8. That is the resource I used to select an obstructed view cabin on the Caribbean Princess. There are some windows between lifeboats that offer a less obstructed view.
  9. No doubt the missing bag is on the ship and will be located and brought to you soon. Meanwhile enjoy your upgrade. We had an obstructed view on Caribbean Princess in March. The view between the lifeboats was pretty unobstructed. If necessary, at least there’s self service laundry just in case all your underwear was in the missing bag.
  10. On CB in March, the lines wanted to merge. Folks would get food and then try to cut into the coffee line. I was expecting fisticuffs on a couple occasions.
  11. And did passengers recognize them as separate lines?
  12. Don’t try to do everything. We passed on the big production shows in favor of sitting in Crooners at night to enjoy the music. Just showed up an hour before the entertainment was scheduled to guarantee a seat. Be prepared to share tables in the MDR or at bars/clubs. We met some nice people in Crooners when we had two spare chairs.
  13. I’m not sure there’s a difference between filet mignon and tenderloin. If there is, I’m sure someone will educate me.
  14. That would be exciting. There’s room at the back of the buffet.
  15. You want good hash browns, go to Waffle House. Princess hash browns are like McDonalds. They’re designed to cook efficiently.
  16. It may have been a reaction to the noro outbreak on the sailing prior to ours. I had assumed it was fleetwide. Given the levels of sickness I’m reading about, it might be wise to extend it to all ships, all sailings.
  17. You might be surprised since it’s been so long since you visited the buffet. We were not allowed to touch serving utensils. There are crew members manning each station and serving you. The chances of finger dipping are greatly reduced. I'm not a big fan of buffets myself. We are usually satisfied with a single plate of food but the variety is one appeal beyond those who simply wish to “get their money’s worth”.
  18. The fancy desserts and fitness classes are window dressing. I saw little interest in either while aboard CB in March. I’d guess based on 75% of 3200 passengers X 10 days X $10 less revenue, you’re talking about Princess cutting revenue by $240,000 for that cruise. The cost of the ice cream and classes can’t be more than 20% of that. And I’m being generous. So, reduce profits for a single cruise by almost $200,000? Sixteen ships. 365 days a year. That’s $100 million. Not happening. Keep dreaming.
  19. Of course the other side of the coin is all those who currently buy a package and would gladly downgrade if something less was offered at a lower price.
  20. I met a girl in college whose dad was a a Maine lobsterman. She said there is nothing more depressing than coming down for breakfast in the morning and realizing there has been nothing in the refrigerator but lobster for weeks on end.
  21. I am not at all depressed by your review, as it lacks the details that would generate any sort of emotional response. The food is moderately fair, the shows are boring and your fellow passengers are slow due to age, weight and infirmity. Care to elaborate? What food was served? What were the shows? Is it your weight, age or infirmity that keeps you from using the stairs to avoid your slow fellow passengers?
  22. Your friend should have ordered another entree in addition to the surf and turf, eaten the lobster tail and the second entree. These are the new rules, folks. Want a second lobster tail, it’s gonna cost ya. Fortunately, I don’t like lobster.
  23. Correctly interpreted. I probably missed typing the ‘l’ and spellcheck misunderstood. My eyes aren’t what they used to be.
  24. But 5 drinks takes most folks to the break even point at $60, even without wifi. 60 - 16 gratuities = 44 / 5 = 8.80 average drink price w/18% gratuity =. 7.45 average drink price w/o gratuity Since the cheapest beer is probably $7.50, that’s a non-starter. Especially if you also want canned soda, bottled water, specialty coffee. I’m thinking the cheap package, if they ever chose to offer one is $45 for 2 drinks, plus wifi, gratuities, coffee, bottled water.
