  1. Service Temporarily Unavailable Is all I ever see.
  2. The man obviously took his MDR dress code advice from Joe Cocker’s interpretation of the Randy Newman song* * obscure reference of the day.
  3. We are on the Mar 2 sailing and this is probably the best information you have passed on. I mean, it’s all been valuable, but I sure hope she hasn’t run out of the blood orange syrup before I get there.
  4. So, if it gets quiet after 10 PM, check to see if the life boats are still attached.
  5. It looks incomplete. I don’t see any bourbon. And Princess says they stock Woodford Reserve, among others.
  6. It sounds like he is both Itchy and Scratchy.
  7. We are on the Caribbean next month. So far I can spot 2 possible formal nights out of 10, but not much else. 28 days out. I wonder if we will see tropical 🌴. I have loads of appropriate shirts.
  8. They need to promote who ever is in charge and move them to the IT department.
  9. Thanks. I found it. It took less than 3 business days to appear.
  10. I bought 100 shares of CCL and emailed paperwork to Carnival. I got an automatic acknowledgment back. I know it could take several weeks to receive my OBC. The app and website being a little hard to negotiate, somewhat less than intuitive, can someone tell me how to see any OBC on my account? My OCD brain tells me to check daily until it appears (somewhere).
  11. I’ll try them all before judging. But they’re a smidge over 5 ounces. If you want to fortify one at a nearby bar, you’ll need a taller glass.
  12. Can you post a link? I can’t find the announcement.
  13. Not for me. I insure minimum trip cost. I just want to be covered in case I get very ill or injured and need hospitalization and/or evacuation. If I lose all or part of the cruise fare, oh well.
  14. The combo package is 60 X 2 X 7= $840. Gratuities are $224. That leaves $616 for stuff you apparently don’t want. Ridiculously, the package with drinks alone is priced higher than the combo.
  15. I am willing to accept that challenge.
  16. I can remember a drink of the day on Royal Caribbean. I don’t think Norwegian had one. Princess does not. I used to get a coupon book from RCCL with a free drink of the day, which for some reason usually turned out to be a strawberry daiquiri.
  17. A reasonably intelligent purchaser assigns value based on personal use and experience. I don’t think most people would be convinced that a motor vehicle offered for sale at $100,000 was a bargain just because the sticker said $150,000 when comparable vehicles sell for $50,000.. $76 for a drink package is a bargain compared to other lines. But it fails when compared to a $60 package that includes more than drinks. The irony is that both are offered by the same line. No matter what Princess tells the consumer, a drink package is worth how many drinks I purchase at the per drink prices. Two beers a day at $8 each is still only worth $16. And ten fancy drinks at $15 each is worth a whopping $150. I assume most people can still do basic math.
  18. I think the $76.69 referenced is the drinks only package? Which doesn’t make sense compared to the Plus package which offers much more at a lower price. I wonder how long they will continue to offer it.
  19. You are correct. The new price limits have not yet taken effect. But given that Princess has been selling Premier and Plus with higher limits for cruises sailing after 2/20 for a while now, it would have been nice to see that mentioned. I have bookmarked the page for future reference.
  20. Appreciated but somewhat out of date. The current limit is $15 for Plus and $18 for Premier. Rumors of bar price increases are also rampant here. But I would expect the variety and brands of drinks to remain relatively unchanged. As far as shortages, I will be very disappointed if the only beer on the menu that I find drinkable is not available.
  21. Partial answer: Plus includes an unlimited juice bar. Surely there will be something without carbonation. I do not know how limited juice bar serving hours might be. In fact, it may not yet be implemented so no one here can be sure.
  22. Correct on both statements. The count begins and ends at 6:00 am daily. which leads to the question (asking for a friend) - is there a bar open 24/7? Or does my friend need to order drink #15 before some particular closing time?
  23. My wife has sensitive skin and would never rely on provided toiletries on board or in a hotel. OTOH, nothing bothers my skin so I am satisfied with anything provided free of charge. I’m guessing most people fall somewhere between the two of us. I’m only annoyed when nothing is provided since I don’t pack my own and have to rely on her Dove bar and shampoo with a decidedly feminine scent. Of course if you look at my profile pic, you would correctly assume I don’t go through a lot of shampoo.
  24. Not my firsthand experience, but I have read here that it can be purchased on board, possibly only on day 1. As an accountant, I always run the numbers. It would not make sense for my wife and I if we did not drink 2+ alcoholic beverages a day. Internet and gratuities are worth $10 +16 daily PP. You would need to obtain $34 a day in value from two exercise classes per cruise, unlimited juice and soda, bottled water, specialty coffee and 2 “premium” desserts a day. Saving $10 on medallion shipping is meaningless as you can pick them up at embarkation with minimal effort, I am told.
