  1. I wasn't concerned about noise from within the Haven. From the deck plan, it looked like the public sundeck comes all the way to the balcony. And down from that is Waves Pool Bar, etc. But apparently that isn't a concern. ~Denise
  2. Just off the Bliss and they did have two rows roped off for Sapphire and above for both Six and Jersey Boys. There was an NCL rep "standing guard" and she lifted the rope about 10 minutes before show time. It was on the right side of the theatre, maybe 15 rows from the front. ~Denise
  3. Our cruise price has come way down after final payment so we decided to upgrade to Haven (not the bidding, just upgraded outright). It's category HF, the regular balcony inside the Haven area. There were only 2 cabins left. Our preferred deck would be 17 by the lounge and courtyard. But the only cabin left was 17128. It didn't appeal to us because it was adjacent to public areas. So we chose deck 18. So my question - are we correct that 17128 is not that great of a cabin choice? Maybe it's good because it's only flanked by one other balcony. Opinions needed. Thanks!! Thanks! Denise
  4. This. But, I admit we just got off the Bliss and I booked through a TA. And we're booked on the Escape Transatlantic through a TA (free gratuities and OBC). But I'm such a control freak so it is hard for me to go through a TA sometimes. I really have to weigh the pros and cons. Don't do it unless you really understand the pricing and are going through a TA you know and/or trust. Denise
  5. Thank you Bird! We are platinum and I had no idea they are a resource.
  6. Have you actually experienced this first hand? I am wondering how that would even work for Club Balcony or Haven which is what we typically book. ~Denise
  7. We're also on this Escape transatlantic sailing Nov 1. I'm bumping this hoping to hear at least one positive experience lol. ~Denise
  8. This is one of those "unimportant, just because I'm curious" questions! I've been reading different threads where posters have mentioned reaching out to the CruiseNext staff for help with specialty dining coupons, water for stateroom and other things not related to future cruises. I thought they only handled selling the CruiseNext deposits along with general info on future sailings. So are they responsible for things beyond future cruise sailings? ~Denise
  9. Thank you! This is exactly the feedback I was looking for!! ~Denise
  10. I have a question about transportation from Manhattan cruise ship terminal to JFK for our 1:20pm flight. Ship arrives on a Thursday morning. Last time, we did Carmel Limo (but to LaGuardia). It was easy. This time around, I'm seeing one-price taxis for less money. Are taxis plentiful at the port? I'm not so much concerned about saving $10, it's more a matter of simply grabbing a taxi vs being on the lookout for a specific car service driver. The taxi feels easier to me. Any advice appreciated! ~Denise
  11. Another tip, if you have any restaurant tweaking to do, call 050 as soon as you board for restaurant reservations. Denise
  12. We are on the Bliss right now. We were surprised to learn that reservations are not available for Six or Jersey Boys. We saw Six the other night and seating was plentiful ten minutes before show time and quickly filled to capacity. Comedy shows in the small venue do require reservations which you can book at Bliss theatre box office. I have the full entertainment schedule and will post it shortly. Denise
  13. I don't think the poster meant foreign as in "foreign country". It was foreign as in an ATM not owned by your banking institution. ~Denise
  14. Welcome to Cruise Critic. I'm trying to "do the math" here. You are flying all the way to Rome to take a 16-night cruise just to go to Bermuda? ~Denise
  15. So, if we're not in a hurry to get to Seatac, do you suggest we go outside and check out the NCL bus hoping for a cheap price. If no vacancy, then we just Uber? We're carry-on only so it's not a luggage issue for us. Thanks again for the awesome review! ~Denise
  16. Thanks for the excellent review! We sail Sept 10. Are you using ship's wifi to post all these pics or do you have good cell service in the different ports? Thanks, Denise
  17. No way could I get my husband on that aircraft lol.
  18. Original poster here! We switched up our plans and decided to fly direct non-stop JFK-PHX. We live near Tucson and we'll just do a one-way car rental from Phoenix to Tucson. We flew to Cabo San Lucas with a connection at Lax in February. The day of our flight, Delta notified us via early morning text that one of our flights was cancelled. We're still feeling the burn from that. A huge hassle (if you've ever had to change planes @ LAX you know what I'm talking about!). Anyway, the direct flight became our priority but thanks for all the feedback! Denise
  19. Could someone recommend a specific pair of binoculars (Amazon link?) We are headed to Alaska next month (have been multiple times before but always enjoy). Our binoculars are old and clunky so would love to upgrade with something lightweight and reasonably priced if there is such a thing! Thanks! Denise
  20. We're cruising NCL to Alaska and a search for ONPOINT here pulled up this thread. Here's my question... For those of you scheduling an Onpoint online test, how far ahead of time did you schedule your appt? Did you have any issues with their schedule being full and not getting your desired Zoom appt time? Our cruise is Sept 10 and I don't want to schedule Onpoint quite yet on the off chance Canada changes their requirements. Thanks. Denise
  21. Our Escape transatlantic departing from Rome on Nov 1st has also disappeared. I did an online chat with NCL and the rep said she could see no itinerary changes or cancellations. so I'm betting on a website glitch.
  22. Did you actually put the excursion in the cart and review the checkout $ amounts? We are also platinum and I am able to see the 10% discount plus the $50 off the first name on the booking. Denise
  23. When we do port excursions, we usually use independent tour guides so pardon my ignorance here 🙂 When I book a shore excursion at NCL.com, I know I put it in my cart and pay for it then. If I decide to cancel it before sailing, does NCL just refund back to my credit card? And can I cancel myself online or do I need to contact NCL by chat or phone? Also, if I want to book a ship's excursion, is there a sense of urgency? In other words, do they sometimes fill up and NCL does not add additional tour buses? Thanks! Denise
