I would guess that when the porters were stood around and not starting to help, it was because on that particular cruise, the earliest arrival time was 12.00 noon, and thus they hadn't started their shift when people turned up earlier. I suppose there are circumstances why people arrive before their allotted time, but that is when things don't run as smoothly as you might like. I bet when you arrive at 11.45 there will be porters able and willing to assist you.

It's a long time since I sailed with P&O, and obviously times have changed. I'm sure many moons ago there was always a free shuttle bus from the dock to the cathedral, though I could be imagining it, like I do with lots of things now.

Do P&O not have a shuttle service to the cathedral and or city centre?

Booked a fourteen nighter on Britannia via the P&O website. I chose the select fare and opted for free coach travel. When logging in to mypocruises.com, there is very little information, and then when I login to the balance section, it shows my cabin number and the correct balance, however nowhere can I see that I have purchased the Select fare, or any confirmation of free coach travel or how to book the coach. Should I not have received a booking confirmation by email?
