I think it was from Jamaica if picked up in port, but it could have just been from onboard infections. Someone said when they came back from Cartegena, that the ship was being cleaned from floor to ceiling all over the place..So the first cases were before Cartegena. Then they just kept multiplying.
Not much you can do when cases start growing other than what the ship did--isolation, cleaning and changing the mask requirement mid-cruise.
Some folks were pretty freaked out at the airport as we all starting chiming in with what we were hearing. And it wasn't hearsay, one of the people we were in line with had a relative that was isolated and told her about the buses and hotels they were shuttled to from the pier. But so far, no Covid in our house....travel sites are recommending people take a test 3-5 days after they get back home....
We will still continue to cruise. I had Covid in January, but luckily it wasn't life threatening. I am a germ freak, so I will continue to wear a mask on the airplane and crowded areas, and I carry Germ-X everywhere I go! But I still got it, and my husband didn't...go figure.
