  1. too late for that now, everything is booked. Besides, the hotels were so expensive for this weekend that it would cost me as much as the cruise to do a couple of days there. I am doing this trip solo, I will visit Boston another time with my DH. We are actually only a 6 hour drive from there so we will go when it is less expensive.
  2. thank you for the info, Uber it is!
  3. This is from a letter received from HAL, I got one for Vancouver and one for Montreal. They both say the same thing, Unless they change it before your cruise, you will be on your on for testing. IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION Please be advised that due to circumstances beyond our control, we regret that we are unable to provide disembarkation testing in Vancouver, British Columbia for guests who require a negative COVID-19 test for their onward travels. For guests flying home on the day of disembarkation, we recommend utilizing the testing facilities at Vancouver International Airport (YVR). For more information regarding locations, pricing, and reservations, please visit: https://www.yvr.ca/en/passengers/travel-planning/takecare/covid-19-testing. For additional information about testing locations in and around Vancouver, please visit https://*****/3KD1rig.
  4. Where are you cruising? Hal is not providing testing for same day flights back to the US from Canada.
  5. Hi, I am sailing out of Boston the the 28th of May, traveling solo. I arrive in Boston at 3 pm on the 27th and am staying at an airport hotel, downtown hotels were stupid expensive for that weekend, around 600 per night. I would like to see a bit of the city, maybe walk a bit of the Freedom trail, get some dinner and maybe take a ghost tour. Should I take a taxi/uber or the ferry. If the ferry, which one and where do I get off? Same question to get to the cruise the next morning. Thanks Lois
  6. Thanks, I have one booked for Charlottetown that has since disappeared from the website so i'm wondering if it is going to be cancelled. Other ones that are sold out are still listed so I don't think that is the reason.
  7. On this cruise in 9 days! Can you tell me what excursions were cancelled? Thanks
  8. I think if you do both, you wont really have enough time at either. Baddeck and Louisbourg are in opposite directions from Sydney. You would be looking at about a total of 3 hours driving time if you don't hit any traffic delays. I see that your ship is in port from 9 to 5 which means all aboard at 4:30. That would give you at max, 2 hours in each spot. I would pick one. if you do Louisbourg, you could visit the fortress, have lunch in town and then drive up to light house point. It is a beautiful spot and there is a 1 km hiking loop there if you were so inclined. For Baddeck, The Bell museum is worth a visit and then lunch and walk through town. You could possibly stop at the Gaelic college , there are often pipers there in the summer. If you get back early, there is a nice boardwalk to stroll along in Sydney, before returning to the ship. Lois
  9. did you have to turn in the forms to the cruise line before your arrival in Victoria?
  10. I agree that the cruise line is wrong. Please update when you arrive in Victoria. Thanks
